For a small but filling tasty desert go for the flourless chocolate cake. It comes surrounded by caramel with ice cream on the top, but you don’t have to have the ice cream if you don’t want it.

Just ate there with a friend, after taking in the Degas exhibit. The food was good but the service was horrendous!!! I actually had to go walk to the bar to get my glass of water!!! Our waiter was horrible but the food was good. I had the Rosemary chicken panini. If you would rather die than wait tables, then don’t wait tables!!!

Taking a break for some coffee and a citrus tart at the MoMS Café. The coffee is delicious and the citrus tart is yummy.

My family of 5 had three different pastas. The gnudi, the rigatoni, and the cavatelli. All three were fantastic!!! Good variety of flavors and perhaps even some of the best pastas I’ve ever had. Only reason my review is not a 5 is because the portions are small, we left unfilled, and the price is high($ 18/pasta plate).

I went with my kids; age 3 and 6. By myself, so I was a little worried about timing. We got seated right away and our server was fast and efficient. The kids had the menu to draw on with a multi-colored crayon. Before we knew it their pasta arrived and then shorty after, my Rose and salad. We all had a nice time and just as I paid the bill, homemade chocolate chunk cookies were delivered. A perfect lunch for the three of us. Thank You MoMa Café 2.

Food is mediocre, overpriced, and very small portions. Not suitable for kids at all. Very poor management and waitstaff doesn’t even wrote down your order. Definitely trying to be classy enough for the museum, but in reality is just ok and very very expensive. See the art, and go eat something yummy somewhere else.

Pleasant atmosphere; terrible food; no management. Became seriously ill after recent lunch. No one in management would get on the phone to even discuss the problem. Museum management refused to intervene. Suggest you view art here and eat elsewhere.

This café is located on the 2nd floor of the MoMA. Museum admission is required to dine inside. We ended up paying $ 70+tip for an expensive, not so impressive lunch. However, when I compare the food here to the Smithsonian museums in DC, there’s a much wider selection of food. We ordered the prosciutto flatbread, butternut squash soup, caesar salad with anchovy dressing, and tortollini en brodo. The prosciutto flatbread was my most favorite item — full of flavor and the bread texture was crispy but soft at the same time. The butternut squash soup was okay, a little too watery for my liking. The anchovy dressing on the caesar salad didn’t taste like anything out of the ordinary, but the portion wag big for the price I paid which I appreciated. My fiancé wasn’t satisfied with his tortellini which is surprising because he’s a huge fan of pasta. Even though there’s a sign in the beginning of the line that says«your wait is 10 minutes from here,» we definitely waited at least 20 minutes before we were sat. False advertising. You can go outside of the museum to eat, but an experience at the MoMA Café is worth checking out at least once.

Came here for starving for lunch before exploring the MoMA. The place was very busy, but we were seated promptly and our waitress attended to us while juggling all the other tables. The restaurant is kind of strange, with patron seated at long tables together kinda of like at a cafeteria… but with waiters and service. Strange. I would recommend chicken panini over the tuna panini.

Came here for lunch and got the vegetable panini with red peppers and zucchini. It was absolutely delicious! Definitely a good choice. The food was delicious, the service was great, but I don’t know if I’m a big fan of the seating style.

We are a big fan for their cold pumpkin squash soup. I love it!!! Since my bf has MOMA membership. We decided to just come whenever we can to just get their soup. Oh Yay.

Used to be great place to eat, now the food as art trick falls flat on the plate, except the bill which competes with real works of art outside. Might as well go downstairs to The Modern & go for it! Portions size of tapas, but too much going on to get it right, & food carts on 6th bigger, fresher, better. But, Jacob Lawerence worth the trip, real food for thought.

MoMA Café is located in a section on the 2nd floor of the Museum of Modern Art. It was actually sort of confusing how the café works. As you walk in you can see the menu listed on the board(without prices), and then there were signs that the Expresso Bar was self-served. Once you walk in, the layout of a café showcases how the chef prepares your food(mostly salads/sandwiches/coffee/drinks) looks like you could order at a counter bar… So, we thought at MoMA Café, you’d have a section where one was for waiter service and the other one for self-service. To be clear, the Café section is all waiter service(we saw a couple other people came in thinking it was partially self-service, too). We just wanted a place to sit so we ordered some drinks and a dessert(almond cheesecake to share). The drinks were ok and the dessert was quite tasty. We looked at the menu though but nothing else really caught our eyes. If you plan on spending the whole day at MoMA, I supposed this café could be one of the places you could eat(there’s another café upstairs I suppose). However, if you are just pending a few hours/half day at MoMA, maybe grabbing a drink at a beer garden in the courtyard or a drink here at this café would be sufficient. Save some money and eat outside of MoMA and you can probably find a wider variety of food(and potentially tastier food) to choose from.

I went here with my friends for the last day of our New York Trip. We went to the café first before looking at the museum and all the artworks due to our complaining stomachs. There are two cafes, one on the 2nd floor and one on the 6th floor. My friends and I ended up eating on the second floor café. It is actually a really nice place to go for a first date or just by yourself. When you go in you are greeted by a hostess and seated by the waiter. You get to walk by all the chefs making the food. You can see all the fresh ingredients that separate you through a small glass wall. We ended up ordering the beet salad, cauliflower soup and the rigatoni pasta to share. My friend said the soup was good and was actually full after finishing it so she slit the pasta with me. The pasta tasted good except that the rigatoni itself seemed a little undercooked. It was flavored well to me and honestly reminded me of creamy hamburger pasta sauce. Aside from that there are a majority of different selections that they had to offer. I saw a lot of different salads from the tables next to me that I want to try next time.

If I every get hungry inside of MOMA, I’m definitely eating here. The food is delicious. I got the shrimp toast. The waiter was very courteous and the service was quick. I was and to get in and out if the museum quickly so I’ll be able to visit the Bjork exhibit they had going on.

Great place for friends, couples and families. I love the energy about the place and the big bright room with family-style seating. Also, thanks for the prix fixe menus… It saved me from staring at the menu trying to pick something out of all the things that sounded delicious. That said, salad was fresh and light. The rigatoni was good but not excellent. Portions are perfect. You need admission to the museum to eat here.

The best part of going to MoMa is going to the MoMa Café! Only way to dine here is if you have museum admission(unlike PS1 in Queens for M Wells Dinette). I came here with my bestie for a late lunch and we ordered so much food. We were seated right away in these high bar-like chairs that faced the window. I’m glad we got these high top tables because it fit all our food! Plenty of people were there as single dinners with window seats overlooking down below. The other tables were communal so one may be sitting next to strangers. To start off we shared the salumi & cheese and antipasti tasting. The salumi and cheese tasting came with a choice of three meats and three cheeses. We had the prosciutto di parma, pistachio herbed sopressata pork, and coppa. My favorite was the prosciutto di parma which was sliced so thinly and fresh. The coppa was a bit too fatty for me but still good. The cheeses came with a sweet apricot compote and handmade flatbread. It’s really worth ordering the tasting because the flatbread itself is $ 7! The antipasti tasting includes a choice of three appetizers. We had the meatballs, butternut squash gratin, and cauliflower. The meatball dish came with only one meatball and focaccia bread drizzled in olive oil. The beef/pork was cooked perfectly and really made me wish I had ordered meatballs. The gratin was an extra charge but it was worth it. The top layer is covered in bread crumbs and once you break pass it the inside is pure bliss. The antipasti tasting was a good way to taste a few items on their menu. For the entrée we shared the bresaola and arugula salad which came with Italian beef, goat cheese, pecans, and sliced pears. It was light but with everything else we ordered, it was filling. Yet, we still managed to save room for dessert! We had the flourless chocolate cake which was made with decadent milk chocolate sabayon with caramel drizzle. My latte and this chocolate cake was the perfect way to end this great meal. Not to mention how awesome our server Eddy was. He came to check up on us a few times to see how our meal was and if we needed anything. One of the best meals I’ve had in a museum thus far!

Normally you would not eat in a museum cafeteria … but the MoMa one is in its own league. If you happen to be at the museum and you already paid for your entrance, don’t even thing of going outside to eat … the best place around is just there. Its relatively cheap an the quality of the food exceptional.
