I live across the street and frequent this shop often. Prices are reasonable and staff is great. No reason to go elsewhere! Oh Friday’s (I think?) they have tastings of wines and liquors, which is an added benefit. Wine selection varies from cheap ($ 8/​bottle) to way nice ($ 150+/bottle). Asked for recommendations a couple times and they always hit the nail on the head!

Had a really great experience here. Very helpful staff. I don’t know much about wine and I told the sales guy I needed a nice bottle of red for a friend’s birthday. I described her taste and he picked out apparently the perfect bottle because she loved it! They also had a large selection of wines and spirits from all over the world, but were happy to help those who aren’t so wine savvy. They also had a tasting going on (and they said they have them most Thursday, Friday and Saturdays) which was pretty awesome. They discount the wines that are being sampled that day too. All in all, I highly recommend.

I live right across the street and this is my go to place for my booze purchase-​for some reason, I come here more often than cork, which is another wine store around the corner that has a cooler vibe.
They often have a tasting and I usually drop by to discover more about drinks and wine-​their recommendations are usually great too. One time, they had a tasting on quantro and I learned quite a few ways of enjoying it other than for my cosmo! :)
Prices are also reasonable and the staff are really friendly. 10% discounts for students with id. :)
Oh, btw, they have the best price in the city for soju!!! Under 5 bucks! :)

They almost always have a tasting or promotion going on which is lovely. Knowledgeable and friendly staff make decision making easy. Surprisingly wide sake selection with hard-​to-​find varieties. Great prices.
TIP: They sell individual boxed wines at the register which makes walking around the city exponentially more fun. Do try it.

I came in here before they closed on a Friday night (they close at 11pm) and the service is EXTREMELY friendly (and knowledgeable). They have an amazing selection of wines that are easy to navigate as they are split by region (California, Italy, France, etc). I loved their selection — spans all price points and they have some GREAT wineries represented here. I will definitely come back. They offer discounts if you buy a case of wine (it can be mixed bottles) and they also deliver.

FABULOUS shop with great selection of wines for ANY budget. I called to have them deliver something to my hotel and they were friendly and helpful (offered to open a chilled bottle instead of trying to sell me a corkscrew).
I will definitely visit again when I’m in the area.

This place surprises me. Why? Because the namesake supermarket next door is dismal and over priced.
But, Morton Williams Wines & Spirits is clean, climate controlled and has a wide array of wine with prices for every budget.
They carry most of the standard whiskey brands and one or two slightly higher end. There is also a small selection of sake, prosecco, gin, and scotch.
The staff is knowledgable and most are friendly.

Store is right next to morton williams supermarket and really close to friends apts over at waterfront. nice area for walking and close to FDR.
pretty big store with variety of selection. staff leaves you alone which i like unless i ask for help and they’re friendly and helpful. even have non-​alcoholic beer and wine which is great! Big fridge in the back with a nice selection of white wine.

I always hated that Trader Joes and Astor Wines were «far» away. Carrying home more than 6 bottles would be taxing on my shoestring arms without a cab. Not anymore.
Enter this new, bright wine and liquor store. I did not have plans to buy anything on my first visit, since my apartment had full inventory of spirits.
The shop was empty and I felt like I was being followed… I looked intently in the bourbon section and picked up an Elijah Craig 12. Jacque started an intelligent conversation on bourbon. I was pleased with his knowledge.
I snooped around more and looked at the refridgerated section. I’m not well versed in sparkling wines and champagnes, so Jacque gave me suggestions dependent on flavor profiles. I was pleased with Jacque’s helpfulness. I ended up buying a few bottles. Prices were fair. No lines.
Morton Williams Wines and Spirits is an excellent liquor store and a welcome addition to Kips Bay.

an interesting fact about my block, on 23rd st and 2nd ave, is that there are at least 5 liquor stores within a 2 block radius from my apartment (not the reason why I moved here btw)
when i saw they were building ANOTHER wines and spirits store in the area, my only question was «WHY!?»
but already after my first visit they started to win my affection. the store is spacious, with light wooden walls and high ceilings. unlike small wines and spirits stores, where bottles are cramped on top of each other, everything here has it’s place. such ambiance makes you you feel more like an aristocrat and not an alcoholic!
they have a great selection for any taste and budget. their staff is is very helpful and nice.
last time I was there I noticed there was a fancy bottle of tequila, which i never seen before. I asked what it was. the guy gave me a brief history on the product, and then asked me if I wanted a shot. sure– I will take a shot.
needless to say — I feel connected now…

I walked by the store the other day and I figured I would check it out. Not only is the store big and open, it is incredibly clean. They have a fantastic selection and a knowledgable staff. I ended up with three delicious bottles of red, all for under $ 25 a bottle. I will definitely be back.
