Marco’s Wine Bar & Restaurant

A wonderful new addition to a neighborhood that has always lacked good restaurants (2^nd avenue gramercy)! Great atmosphere and vibe and tasty food… this place should do very well and hopefully will be a staple in this neighborhood for years to come!

I unsuccessfully tried to have food delivered by ordering from their website. An hour later and I have not received any confirmation of the order let alone the food despite already putting payment details into their system. Would not recommend delivery from here. Have tried to call multiple times however no one is picking up. Very disappointed and hungry!

Loved Marco, loved the atmosphere, loved the service, loved the shrimp pasta. A slight miss on the crab cakes and flat bread pizza but nothing that will keep me from coming back. Come here and tell your friends to meet you for a glass of wine.

Happened in here on a cold winter’s night. Marco and Cynthia were lovely, but the food couldn’t quite keep up! But wouldn’t stop me from returning!

I went to Marco’s on a weeknight to grab a bite to eat and glass of wine with a friend. The food was amazing, the wine selection was unique, and the staff was attentive/​friendly. I’ll absolutely be coming back– it’s my new favorite place. Highly recommended!

This place was amazing!!! Delicious food, awesome wine selection, and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality you get! Friendly staff who are generous with their knowledge and time. You can tell this is a business that is customer-​focused. Marco’s is absolutely a new staple — I will go back again and again!

I love this place! Great atmosphere, Marco’s a gem of a place, the food was excellent, paired with wines from all over the world, the wine flights are according to their varietals, from 3 different countries. Some favorite foods are the flatbreads, skirt steak, octopus… the desserts homemade cheesecake, tiramisu, and crème brûlée. My friends and I will be back for sure.

My boyfriend and I ate at Marco’s last night and we were extremely pleased. We were shocked to find out they have only been open six weeks. The food was fresh and the service was extraordinary! The owner told us he believes it is important to have a variety of foods you enjoy, paired with your favorite wine and not break the bank. This little jewel will go far! We will be back for sure!

I’ve gone to my share of wine restaurants in the city and this is the best one I’ve been to. Not only is the food and wine absolutely delicious, but also extremely well priced. Marco is the most hospitable man I’ve ever met and came to our table to give us a complete description of the food, how it’s made /​where it comes from, and suggested the perfect wine to go with it. I will be going back there again very soon!

Wonderful meal, great service, I went with 4 of my family members and everyone left happy. Wine menu is extensive and inexpensive, excellent prices, great food served by nice people. Real food served by real people, who knew such a place even existed this day and age on the Isle of Manhattan.

Great food and impeccable service. The crab cakes were fantastic and the curry chicken was on point.
I ordered the Malbec wine flight and they were out of one of their standard Malbecs. The owner came over and opened up one of his private collection bottles and we both had a glass. The wines were great.

Marcos is a quaint tapas/​wine bar. EVERYTHING we ate was delicious! We started with the crab cakes and Marcos salad. Then we had the curry chicken and the lamp chops. The lamp chops were to die for, so tasty. Marco, the owner, came over to our table when we first sat down to introduce himself, which is always a huge plus when I try somewhere new.
I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Went to Marco’s this evening. We are a great meal for a reasonable price. My wife had a house white wine and we shared Calamari, cheese meatballs and Margarita Pizza. Each were very good. We also enjoyed the café look and feel.

My friends and I have been anxiously waiting for Marcos to open. It did NOT disappoint!!! The food is delicious! We shared different tapas so we could sample the menu. The crab cakes, beet salad, skirt steak, spicy shrimp and ice cream were incredible!!! And the staff!!! Marcos, his wife Lulu, and Aidi were warm, friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable!!! We had such a lovely time, I am certain Marcos will be our go to neighborhood restaurant. I can’t wait to go back and sample more of the menu!

Great new place I went to for brunch. It was a good price for large portions and I got three free mimosas. I got the farmers plate and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs. Both were delicious and we left full. The decoration is beautiful inside and the staff was super friendly. I will definitely stop by again to try the dinner and dessert menu.

I came here with a group for a surprise birthday celebration and it was the perfect pick! The service was amazing – probably some of the best I’ve received in NYC. The atmosphere was comfortable, romantic and casual all in one. The food was delicious and great for sharing. The waiters helped figure out ordering for the table. The sliders were a delicious surprise as more than just an average slider, but a spicy pulled beef slider. We tried a variety of brick-​oven flatbread options and they were all unique and amazing. The truffle fries were spot on. They give you bread (herb-​spiced flatbread) for the table which is soooo good. The cheese platter is a great starter option, too, and perfect for sharing with ~6 people – the assortment of cheeses is actually mounds of 5 – 6 different cheeses!
NOTE! They did just open and don’t have their liquor license yet. Supposedly getting it mid September-​ish.

I will update this review when I revisit this place after they are serving their full menu and, more importantly, WINE.
I have to admit, we were pretty miffed when they waited until after we had already sat down and the bread hit the table to tell us that they didn’t have a liquor license and were serving only a few things on their menu (no gnocchi, no mozzarella sticks, no dumplings, etc etc etc). Luckily, I was working that night, so I didn’t need the glass of wine, but was with a vegetarian who could have used some of those options.
However, the dishes they did serve were quite good. The bread was lightly toasted and the olive oil-​friendly plates were a cool touch. The bruschetta flatbread was refreshing with cold mozzarella cubes and fresh tomatoes. The brick oven (definitely a plus) pizza with caramelized onions, fontina cheese, and arugula was delicious. The truffle fries, however, were average.
Overall, a welcome addition to the area, and will be back again to try their more extensive menu/​wine.
