dim lighting. a bit slow but friendly service. gets loud throughout the night. okay food choices.

Amazing sushi and amazing people! If you ever lose something here you can trust that they treat your belongings with respect and safety. I left my bag here and the owner himself kept it safe and tried to contact me. Aside from being my favorite west village sushi, the customer service is 5 star!!! Try this place for sure

The food is fresh and delicious! And their customer service is really good. Great takeout, they are very reasonably priced.

The sashimi was fresh. Stumbled upon here to throw a small surprise birthday dinner for a close friend. The food was good, seating amazing(spacious!) and service was up to par. Our waiter was very patient with accommodating our orders and gave us plenty of time to ask questions/decide. Thank you for that(as I had friends that all had different tastes)! Price is affordable, considering it’s a sushi joint. If you’re looking for $ 1 sushi, you will need to go somewhere else.

Miyabi is the best sushi restaurant in Downtown Manhattan, hands down! I live nearby and have become a regular here, and they always provide excellent quality and service. Their spicy tuna crunch roll is insanely delicious, so when you arrive, be sure to order that.

Last night, I was thinking about how it’s such a shame that I never reviewed Miyabi, my go-to take out sushi place. They have five stars on Seamless, they have cheap sushi that tastes fresh(I.e. A dinner special of 9 pieces of sushi, a tuna roll, and a soup or salad for 19.95 $), and their delivery is fast and courteous. I’ve always really liked this place and I’ve tried many of their offerings. As I’m chowing down on my usual order and thinking about how I should write a review, something not so hot happened(if I didn’t love this place so much prior to the incident, this would have been an automatic 1-star). I bit into a piece of salmon sushi and felt a hard piece of something and a sharp pain. I immediately spit it out and found a GIANTBONE(pictures attached for proof because I wouldn’t believe me either, that’s how regularly good this place is). The side of my mouth was bleeding and my tooth stung from biting down on the bone. Not only did it really hurt, but it made me feel very unsafe about the rest of the order and after prodding at the remaining few pieces, I decided to throw them out. I have to say, I’ve been to some sketchy sushi places, but nothing like this has ever happened to me. I’m saddened to take this place out of my rotation(especially since it was one of my favorites) but I’d rather pay a little more for some safety and for the knowledge that I won’t be consuming part of a fish skeleton.

The restaurant has a nice scenery and the wait staff were very pleasant. The way the sushi was arranged on the plate was very eloquent. While I had 2 or 3 rolls fall apart while trying to eat it, everything was to my satisfaction. 3.5÷5 would eat here again.

The prices are definitely good comparing other sushi restaurants in NYC. All the sushi pieces come with 1 piece in NYC(not 2 pieces, like most states). So if you order 1 sushi for $ 3, you will get only 1 piece for $ 3. Unagi is fresh. George waited on us. He was pretty cool. He accidentally dropped the soy sauce on the ground, and since it spilled a bit on me, he was nice enough to comp us with a desert. So we ordered Mochi Ice Cream. It comes in Vanilla, Green Tea and Red Bean flavor. It’s pretty good! I also included the picture. If you check in on Unilocal, you get %10 off. So don’t forget to add this deal to your bill.

I’m not one to complain about food or service, but this«spicy tuna» is inedible. It taste like it’s from a can. When we politely asked the manager to take it off our bill they refused. It wasn’t until I said I was going to write a bad review on Unilocal that they asked us if we wanted another roll. The gentleman that was translating for the manager was great, but the manager was not willing to budge. Ultimately we paid $ 47 for sushi we didn’t eat.

Miyabi Sushi is a good option if you’re looking for reasonably-priced, quality sushi in the city. The place isn’t huge but there were enough tables. It wasn’t too packed for a Friday night at around 6:30. I had a craving for some sashimi so my boyfriend and I considered ordering the sashimi chef’s special for 2($ 49.95). However, we found out that this only came with 36 pieces, whereas the sashimi dinner($ 21.95) came with 18 pieces. So I opted for the latter, and he just ordered some rolls. For the sashimi dinner, it came with three pieces of six different types of fish. The salmon, tuna, and white tuna were all great. The white tuna was probably my favorite. But the other three(my guess is that they were yellowtail, fluke, and mackerel) were just alright. One was still a little frozen, and another was just flavorless. I think next time, I’ll just order some rolls and white tuna sashimi. It’s the safest way to go. Tip #1 — happy hour is 4 to 6. Tip #2 — check in on Unilocal for 10% off your bill. Tip #3 — they give you hot towels for your hands after you sit down. I thought this was a nice touch and added to their great service.

This is the goto spot for my better half and finally decided to check it out. Was there around 7pm on a Sunday night. Not crowded, atmosphere was very nice and service was good. Especially liked the hot hand towels… usually the norm but much appreciated. Food ordered was special combination A(California, tuna, and hamachi) and then individual ordering(salmon skin, salmon avocado, eel avocado and hamachi). Came out pretty quick and overall very good. Definitely will be coming back again. PS. Check in and discount is available so even more of a reason to keep eating here.

I was here with 2 friends on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly empty. I was late so by the time I got there, they had already started eating and were raving to me about how good the sushi was! They told me that the Kamikaze Roll(tuna, salmon & avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon, eel, tempura crunch, spicy mayonnaise & eel sauce) was absolutely delish and highly recommended that I get that too. It was a really cold night and I was craving for something hot and soupy, so I unfortunately did not listen to them. I ended up getting the sukiyaki(beef in broth with vegetables, tofu & rice noodles) which turned out to be just average. It was not very flavorful, beef was tough, and tofu was extremely cold. I usually love my asian noodles so it’s very rare that I don’t finish a meal of such. However, this time, I just could not bring myself to finish it. It was also disappointing that they didn’t serve it in an actual sukiyaki pot. On hindsight, I really should have gotten the sushi as every other person in the restaurant seemed to be eating that. I might give this place another shot if I’m in the area again, but will definitely try a sushi roll next time.

NEVEREATHERE. I found a giant two inch SCREW in my chicken teriyaki bento takeout.(picture provided below) How the hell did the kitchen miss this? I noticed something sticking out underneath the chicken. I thought it could be a vegetable like a string bean since it was all covered in sauce. NOPE. It was a TWO INCH SCREW The only explanation I can think of is that they went to the hardware store across the street and thought, «Hey, you know what would go well with chicken teriyaki? A screw that belongs in god damn machinery.» I like to think that I have a pretty high tolerance for finding non-edible debris in my food. If it were a piece of bone or hair, I would have just taken it out. But come on. How do you miss this? When I brought the box back to the restaurant, the waitress looked pretty shocked and took it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later, she came back with the cook and translated for the cook telling me that they normally do not have that screw. …THENWHERETHEHELLDIDITCOMEFROM? Something must have gotten lost in translation. Is the fact that you normally don’t put screws in your food supposed to make me feel special? Like I won some prize? Clearly that screw came from SOMEWHERE in your kitchen. She then had the audacity to ask if I wanted another one. Why would I trust anything prepared in that kitchen ever again? What the hell is wrong with this place? Any halfway decent restaurant would have just apologized and offered a refund. NEVEREATHERE.

I was looking for a great Japanese restaurant to be able to go to on a regular basis because I’m a big fan of Japanese food, and I saw that this restaurant had good reviews on Unilocal so I decided to try it out with some of my friends. It was a decent restaurant in terms of food quality, but I wouldn’t say it’s one of the top-tier Japanese restaurants that I’ve had before. I got the chicken teriyaki, my friend got the pork tonkatsu, and my other friend got some of the sushi and we all mutually agreed that the food was just alright at best. My chicken teriyaki had far too much teriyaki sauce on it, which was okay for the first few pieces of chicken, but it got hard to eat by the end of the meal. I will admit that the portion sizes are really nice and it was completely worth the money, but the food quality was not the best. Furthermore, the service was kind of lackluster when I went there. I had to constantly call over servers to refill my water, some of them had difficulty understanding my order, and it took a long time to get the check. All in all, this restaurant is not bad by any means and I would come back, but needless to say, I’m still in search of a great Japanese restaurant to go to on a regular basis.

For mediocre pan Asian food in NYC delivery landscape, I don’t need to be accused of being:1)dumb as my front desk staff doesn’t know where our front small business entrance area is 2) deaf as my front desk staff didn’t hear any bell ring 3) potentially lying about not receiving my food. Yeah you may be big with your 10 delivery guys out there but it sure did take over 2hours for a lunch delivery. Are YOU100% sure about your seamless delivery etiquette? PS Hmm Saba Handroll was T.I.N.Y and devoid of real Saba flavor. You Thai dishes tastes more Chinese than actual Thai Spices. RIP our food convenience relations.

If you are serious about sushi, avoid this place. I was skeptical because of the touristy location and the«Asian Cuisine» moniker, yet encouraged by all the favourable reviews. So, being hungry, I decided to give it a try. Don’t make my mistake! It does not deserve the high rating! I had the sashimi, which, to be fair, was fresh and decent. But alas! The rice was terrible. Long grain, not sticky, just wrong, wrong, wrong. My partner had the sushi rolls and again, the same awful long grain non-sticky rice. And to add insult to injury, it didn’t taste like the rice had had any vinegar added to it. When making sushi, the rice is the most important thing to get right. It all starts from the rice. And the rice here was just not good at all. Let me be clear: It was not awful. But neither was it sushi.

One of the best sushi restaurants in town! Tasty, clean, kind and fast service, and now — super pretty too! I have lived one block away from Miyabi sushi for over 10 years. That’s about the same time they were in the previous location until they moved to the new one, just across the road. The new place is absolutely beautiful, and a must go to in Greenwich village! The owner is super friendly, I always see him when I’m there and he is always making sure everything is going well — and it does.

The Quick: Very fresh sushi with a cute Decour, attentive staff, and very reasonable prices. The Details: first and foremost, you get 10% off when you check in on Unilocal… So I know you Unilocal lovers will enjoy that as much as I did. We went for lunch special– the sushi was extremely fresh, everyone in my group was happy with what they received. I also particularly liked that the sushi rolls did not have an abundance of rice, with a large portion of actual fish. Overall a good experience, I would return. The Damage: The prices were very reasonable. We did three rolls for $ 11.95 with an additional 10% off. This came with three rolls of choice(and there was a lot of different rolls to choose from) as well as a soup or salad.
