Microskin

After waiting a month for an appointment, I finally made it, this place is located right up the block from nyu hospital & right by the queen tunnel. The office is located in a office building, and is on the second floor, the office it self is very small, I expected something modern & big, the waiting room only had about four chairs, the receptionist was very nice, greeted me, and had me fill out paperwork, after that I waited about ten minutes before putting me in a room. I expected the room to be like a doctors office, but it wasn’t, it had a huge mirror, weird fan on the window, and was very dirty from the makeup, I actually thought to myself if I was in the wrong place, didn’t feel welcoming at all!!! The lady walks in, straight to the point, and starts to mix colors. Again not what I expected… I thought someone with a lab coat will be seeing me, I swear the web site gives another image of this place. But overall she was great! Wish I remembered her name, but she did have tattoos, she was determined to find the correct color for me, continuously was in & out of the room until it was perfected! I spent well over a hour there, and didn’t mind at all. Even though it wasn’t what I imagined, I had a great experience, and will be returning when I need more.

It works but I was going on a trip and had been a long time customer and asked if they could squeeze me in. And called a week before. And they were booked weeks in advance. They need to hire more people. And they need to be open later. Closing at 4:00 is very early. Better customer service is needed!!! Especially since my family all sees or has seen the doctor who invented it.

I cant say enough good things about Microskin. I have had vitiligo for many years and have always hid behind my clothes. The staff at microskin really made me feel comfortable. Kerry and Nicole were amazing and took the time to match my color almost perfectly. The product stays on even in the water which is amazing for swimming and the beach. People cant tell I have cover on. I have used so many products in the past but have always been dissapointed. The only negative is it takes some time to learn to apply on your own but well worth the time.

I just got back from my appointment at the Microskin Center and I was very happy with the results. I have struggled with a skin disorder called Vitiligo since I was a teenager. It is something that I have always been very self conscious about, and I always cover it up. I have tried every possible kind of cover up, and in the last 8 years I started spray tanning to cover it. I also ALWAYS wear makeup over the spray tan bc the tan just isn’t enough. But now, I think I have found something that actually is going to work for me. It is definitely more money than I wanted to spend, but I think it’s going to be worth it.
When my appt began the «consultant» explained the whole process and then began to mix my color. It took a while to get the color right, I ended up being there for a few hours. But… It looks like it’s my exact skin color. Someone who didn’t know already would not think I had makeup on my arms and legs. She made me 2 colors because she said my legs are different from my arms. She then showed me how to apply it with the airbrush gun and how to use all the products you get. I practiced on myself a little and then she helped me finish the full application.
There are a few options for packages. One thing I really liked was that they offer for you to wear the application home and think about it before you buy it. There was no pressure to buy everything right then and there. They also offered to ship it to me so I didn’t have to come back, but I decided to buy their airbrush package that day.
The staff in the office couldn’t have been nicer. Usually I’m really uncomfortable about my Vitiligo but they were really cool. The quality and outcome exceeded my expectations, if anything I just wish it was a little less pricey.

I visited the Microskin center a few weeks ago for the first time, I was anxious to go because there are some mixed reviews. The center is in a medical building so it kind of feels like going to a doctor more than getting makeup. I appreciated that because I have a scar on my thigh and could never get a good makeup match from shopping at a cosmetic counter (obviously I wouldn’t take my pants off in Sephora). The staff is super friendly and really welcoming; they made me feel comfortable which I also appreciated because I was a little nervous, I never show my scar to anyone. I met with the color specialist Kerry and she really knew her stuff about matching color. She put a few different samples on my scar and even when I though it looked great she said she wanted to try another one because she was sure she could make it look even better and more natural. When she came to a shade we both agreed on, she called in another specialist for her opinion to make sure it looked as best it could. Then, they both sat with me and showed me how to apply it at home. It was a little more complicated than anything else I’ve used, but I definitely feel that it’s worth the extra effort.
The specialist also encouraged me to go home and try it out first which totally SHOCKED me. I’ve never had a salesperson want me to try something out before buying it, especially after how much time she spent with me. She said she would have my formula ready to go when I was sure I was happy with it, and that I could swing by anytime to pick it up, or that she could ship it or messenger it to my office! She seemed pretty confident that I would be back, and I have.
I just went back a few days ago and it still looks good. The technician gave me a sample to touch up with, but I haven’t had to do so yet. My scar is raised so you can still see it a little, but it looks so much better and not as obvious. I wasn’t expecting it would disappear all together, but this is a great alternative. Everything else I have tried has rubbed off all over my clothes but Microskin hasn’t at all. I’m going on a cruise in December and I am finally comfortable enough to wear a bikini… I’m so excited!

Plain and simple, Microskin changed my life. I recently visited their Pasadena office to cover a birthmark on my arm. Being a man was concerned it would look too much like makeup but it is flawless. Only issue is it takes some practice to learn how to apply. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

This is a great product and it worked wonders for me. Since I spend a lot of time in front of cameras and outdoors, I regularly use Microskin as a way to hide any skin imperfections that pop up along the way.
The technicians were also highly knowledgeable and showed me exactly how to apply and remove it as needed. Again, I would highly recommend these guys, check it out!

This product is a crock of shit… I went to the microskin center this afternoon and I had it applied to my face by the technicians via airbrush… it is NOT a second simulated skin, as they claim. When it’s applied it looks like bad makeup. Seriously like a very heavy, bad foundation makeup. From a few feet away it reminded me of that makeup they put on dead people.
Don’t waste ur money.
