I wanted to like this place, specially when I ended up pickng up the tab because my bro sucks. But it wasn’t good. The nachos were ok. We went with steak. The tacos were single wrapped. This made for really soggy, and sloppy taco-ing. I love messy food BUT tacos are doubled because ain’t nobody order nachos!!! well, we did but I digress. The pozole was horrible. I asked for no spicy. I got spicy. It was watery, not flavorful and nothing like what I’ve had at homes, or in random eateries. I think the place rates highly because it stays open late and greasy and spicy food is great to millennials at 3am. Tried the horchata and jamaica. Didn’t like either. The waitress was nice, and patient but the food failed.

We order take out from Mi Ranchito at least twice a week. I always order the large shrimp quesadilla and a tamarind Mexican soda. We also order tacos dorados and the best freshly made $ 5 guacamole with chips(make sure you tell them to add pico de gallo to it). I really shouldn’t be telling you about our favorite take out spot, but is not fair to the establishment to keep it to ourselves. Also try the huevos rancheros! They’re the best hangover fix.

Nothing special. Just a cheap meal. The nacho was meh. I wish they more flavor or chicken in it.

I am very disappointed in this visit. How does a Mexican restaurant mess up Mexican cuisine?! HOW?! I don’t know what other Unilocal users were thinking. Not at all the best nachos in NYC. It was a taco salad. Who buries nachos with lettuce? We asked for jalapeños on top of our nacho and was tossed three roughly chopped canned jalapeños. This shit was nasty. The burrito was mediocre. None of the right ingredients of a well put burrito. It was eh. The ‘complimentary’ chips were not so complimenting for our taste buds. They were stale and sit out under a tiny station. Don’t come here. Please save yourself for the love of God. Oh. Whoever recommended and praised their food must be a friend or someone who haven’t eaten good food in their life!!! It’s a joke! This«restaurant» is a joke.

Oh, this place takes me back to high school :) I was introduced to this place around 4 years ago by a friend, and it has been my go-to place in Washington Heights ever since. I was born and raised in the heights, so every time I come home from college, I almost always have to stop by here. I always order the nachos with chicken and refried beans. I effing LOVE the sour cream here. I almost empty out the bottle every time, lol. And the best part about this place are the free nacho appetizers, which are a good way to get the ball rolling. I don’t have anything else to say about this place, because I’ve been coming here for a long time and I always get the same thing and get served by the same people. I am so comfortable here and this place will always be like a second home to me :) Every person I have brought here LOVES the food, so that should be an indicator that maybe you should come and try it out ;)

I love this little gem hidden amongst the saint nicholas strip. The food here is amazing from the chips and salsa they give at the table, to the guac and tacos! So amazingly good and the staff is all female and always extremely friendly and welcoming. I order delivery from here all the time as well, everything always packaged properly and there’s never anything missing! Love this place would recommend it to anyone in the area.

I come here all the time! The best Mexican Food I’ve ever had. I literally come here about 3 – 4 times out of the week. The service is always wonderful and the food is AMAZING! If you ever have any issues management will take care of it promptly and courteously. Thank you so much to Mi ranchito for the hospitality.

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately I had a horrible experience on a Tuesday night when I came for dinner. No one here speaks English. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with chicken. I got something totally different, so when I told my waitress, she got really upset at me. I even attempted to use my best Spanish to explain to her exactly what I wanted, but my efforts were greeted with sighing and eye rolling. I wasn’t expecting 5 star service. I honestly just wanted mediocre service, to not be scoffed at, and to eat what I ordered, which was as simple as orders come. As far as the food, my burrito was just okay. Pretty small. And not as cheap as I was hoping. Also I continue to search for a Mexican place in New York with refried pinto beans.

LOVE… The tacos and burritos! Super authentic and well seasoned food. I usually do take out but they have a small bar and seating area. The ladies are super nice and efficient.

I live in the neighborhood and decided to get take out from here on a Saturday night. The place itself is small but cute. It was not very crowded, with places to sit both at the bar and at the tables. While the atmosphere was good, unfortunately the food was not. I ordered the vegetable quesadilla, guac and chips, and a strawberry smoothie. My friend ordered tacos and a drink also. Everything was reasonably priced, with our total for everything being around $ 27. The quesadilla was just pretty gross tasting. It was really dry, with melted cheese inside and shaken cheese on top. The melted cheese inside tasted kind of stale and was in clumps together. It was a short walk back to the apartment so I don’t think it spoiled during the trip. It is a little hard to mess up a basic quesadilla, but this place succeeded. I also did not care for the guac, which had a really creamy consistency and appeared to have no chunks of actual avocado in it. I am not sure if the guac is homemade but the taste reminded me of the cheap store-bought kind. My friend did not care for his tacos either, and will opt for the taco truck instead next time. I gave this place 2 stars because the staff was friendly and the atmosphere seemed nice. I would maybe come back to try some drinks. The food disappointed me though, as I had really been looking forward to it based on the great reviews and location.

I ran into this place last week while looking for a place to eat before my road-test. Having lived in this area(Washington Heights) for a year, I left this neighborhood thinking it was a black-hole for good food(outside Dominican food of course). So I went in this restaurant without expectations. Once entering I was greeted by a nice, smiling waitress. Still at this point, I was just alright, lets see. I proceeded to seat at the table of my choice and started to read the menu. The pictures of food look great, but what caught my attention was the Bistec a la Mexicana. This steak dish is my favorite dish when made properly, and though with doubts, I ordered anyway. A few minutes later, to my surprise, the food came out looking just like in the picture! My plate came with REAL fresh corn tortillas, salad with avocado, yellow rice and black beans, and sliced jalapenos sautée into the steak sauce like it should be. I was so exited. Right on my first bite I thought this place was great, and immediately thought I should bring my husband here. And so I did. I took my husband here today. He had the Mojarra frita and I had the bistec a la Mexicana. Again, the food was great! Although this is no longer my neighborhood, I look forward to coming back. I hope this place don’t change; and I hope the rest of the dishes are just as good as my first one.

I come here twice a week. Their chips and salsa are sooo good and I also get their tacos but my favorite favorite favorite thing I love is their stuffed burrito its big and soo good and creamy and it comes with rice and frijoles(black beans) I love drinking their jarito soda I get passion fruit. Their drinks are strong as well. I love this place and its in the corner of my block I stay trying to steal their white cream sauce… I never succeed cause they know.

I only order tacos and beers from this place and have nothing bad to say. At just a few blocks north of the 1 train’s 181 street stop, I frequently indulge in here after I get off from work(1 or 2am) and they are good even late night. Upstairs they’ve got a bar and a half for seating, about 5 tables, and then a downstairs area with another 5 tables for dining. The waitresses are all nice and accommodating and even with a full house the food comes out in a relatively quick manner. I get my tacos solely with onions and cilantro but there’s always 1⁄8 a lime wedge to drizzle on mixed with sour cream, guacamole in a bottle, salsa de rojo o verde — perfecto! Highly recommended for those seeking to venture uptown for some great Mexican food — both lunch and dinner this place has never let me down. Oh and the cervezas are always mucho frio. The waitresses are all very nice and accommodating and even with a full house the food comes out in a relatively quick manner. Karaōke in Spanish happens sporadically, gangsters and families mingle together, happiness exudes beyond the mindless drunks who trickle in… Its a lovely uptown establishment and I am proud to say that I am and will continue to be a regular.

I really like mi ranchito, the food is pretty good. I love their green sauce and make sure to put plenty of it on my food every time i visit. My only complain would be the service, it could be better. But again, i will keep coming back for the food.

Great food. Guac was really really good. Good prices. Ate with a friend. 25 $ for 3 tacos, 3 golditas, guac &2 orders of chips, &3 sprites. Small places so limited seating. On sundays a guy and lady comes in and start singing. After 10 theres a security guard and he pats ppl coming in. To get alcholic beverages i think you have to seat at the bar sections bc the menus they give you are the takeout paper ones.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in the Washington Heights area, look no further. I discovered this little gem and am so happy that I did! The food always tastes fresh! I usually go for the chicken quesadillas(flour) with guacamole and chips and they never disappoint! Super yummy!

I LOVE this place! i have been going to this restaurant for about 5 years and i have never been disappointed. This place brings authentic mexican food that is is delicious and is filled with flavor. This is not a fancy place, this this has a more comfty mood with great hispanic music. They also have an area seating downstairs where you can watch t.v. Majority of the time they have on soap operas so if your one of those crazy novela fanatic, you will not miss out on your show! They have the best salsa dip and till this day i haven’t tasted anything like it in any other place. It has a sweet and spicy taste to it which i love. also they close very late so it is perfect as a late light craving!

First off, I’m a little shocked that no one has written a review in the past two years they’ve been open, but what the hell. I’ve been craving their food ever since I lived around the corner, and here’s why. For about five bucks, you can get a full tray of homemade tortilla chips along with their amazing pico de gallo. They’ll make it how you like it(picante o no), and it is ALWAYS fresh. I have never had a bad experience with it. I’ve had a few items from their menu beyond that(the tacos are very good, but not excellent), so order from their specialty side. I think it’s listed under«Mexican Pates». Between that and the rotating soups, you can’t go wrong. Oh, and if you go on a Saturday night, be prepared to be patted down by a security guard(he was quite nice), and see a bunch of drunk people having a good time. You could be the next one!
