Dr. Melton has been my physician for over 20 years. I first went to see her for an emergency and was impressed by her professionalism, compassion and bedside manner. My eyes and vision are very important to me and I will only entrust their care to the most competent doctor. In addition to thorough annual exams, she has come to my rescue on several occasions when my eyes had an infection and were red and itchy. I called her office and even if she didn’t have office hours, she called me back quickly to consult and phoned my pharmacy with my prescription so I could get relief from my ailment. The last time this happened was the Friday before the Super Bowl and one of my eyes was very itchy. I was really worried I would have to suffer over the weekend but after calling Dr. Melton’s office and explaining my ailment, she called me promptly, listened to me describe my condition and phoned my prescription to my pharmacy. The medication provided relief and I was able to enjoy going to a Super Bowl party. Care like this is possible only if a relationship is established with a great physician. I hope Dr. Melton remains my doctor for a long time.

Dr. Melton is a fine doctor. But her receptionist needs to take classes to learn to treat people better. I was referred to Dr. Melton by a friend and first saw her in Dec 2013 for my annual checkup. I saw Dr. Melton again last month for another annual checkup. I woke up with a problem yesterday — red eye with discharge, tearing and tenderness. It got worst today. My eye is actually swollen today also. I called Dr. Melton’s office and told the receptionist I have an emergency and wanted to see Dr. Melton. I was told they are fully booked today and she will talk to the doctor and get back to me. In the meantime a coworker recommended her doctor to me and I was able to secure an appointment right away. Dr. Melton’s receptionist called me back 70 minutes later and told me Dr. Melton can see me at 4 pm. I told her I have already secured an appointment with another doctor and the receptionist just hung up on me. Any normal human being would have said at least«goodbye» if not even«hope you feel better». Thinking of switching to the new doctor now…
