Went here for lunch since I work nearby and I was pleasantly surprised! I’ve gone to quite a few different restaurants on 9th ave and I decided to stop by here to try their ramen noodles and bubble tea. I got the pan fried dumpling soup and original bubble tea — will definitely return soon.

Newly renovated, good for groups to have a casual meal, feels like a bistro in Soho inside. Food is quick, veggies came out perfectly steamed w/sauce on the side. Price can’t be beat for midtown. Don’t expect super great cuisine for less than $ 10, but staff are polite and you can relax.

Best Chinese in Hell’s Kitchen. Thank goodness Mee hasn’t succumbed to HK’s gentrification! My family has been coming to Mee since the 90’s and it’s still our favorite Chinese restaurant in all of NYC. They’ve renovated in the last year… waaaaayyyy overdue and now it looks airy and chic; it feels really nice to eat in. Makes the dining experience so much better than before(it looked like a big bathroom, down to the subway tiles). All their soups and dumplings are spot on. We like so many things on the menu, but our faves are the shrimp with eggplant, Szechuan beef, roast pork, General Tso everything, Chicken and broccoli… Service is great, especially the friendly lady with a bob. She is on top of her game and always very pleasant. And did I mention that dining here won’t break the bank? GOTOMEE!

I’ve always been a little curious about Mee Noodle Shop after seeing so many locations in the city(my boyfriend claims that all the Mee restaurants are not related but that can’t be the case, right?!) I decided that today would be the day to try it out– so I ordered pickup for lunch from this location. When I went to pick up my food, I noticed how… well, «cute» the location was! The chalkboard above the register area with the chalk writing and the interior made the restaurant feel more like a café to me, quite unlike the other Mee locations I have walked by. For food, I ordered the Shanghai Vegetable and Meat Wonton noodle soup with flat Cantonese noodles(which was noted as «fettuccine») — only $ 8 including tax. The wontons were definitely the best part– 7 juicy wontons with great filling. The fettuccine noodles were just okay, as was the soup. The soup was a little bland with not enough salt and flavor. I will try their other options– their rice dishes(Topped off with some sort of meat) sound great as well

I am so sorry, but this was literally the worst dinner I had in a while if not ever. Apparently they just renovated the space and you can see they wanted to make it look nice. They opened the window front, which was nice, since it was one of the first days of spring. But the food was really not eatable! I had a soup with some kind of meat. The soup literally tasted like water, no flavor at all. It was super strange. The«meat» was just grease. My boyfriend had the same experience with his order-no flavor at all. We ended up not eating anything at all — apart from the first bites. It was super cheap though. But maybe that’s the problem, because the ingredients are poor quality.

I have heard that this place does have good stuff so take this with a grain of salt. I had the roast chicken noodle soup and it was subpar. The chicken is… Straight up chicken. There will be bones, skin and fat on it so it can kind of ruin the experience. The noodles were fine and the sauce was just okay. We also had the vegetable steamed dumplings and I would stay the hell away. They were soggy, flavorless, and large and not at all enjoyable. Go here if you want just regular Chinese like lol mien or something but don’t go here if you’re looking for more a high end kind of experience.

I’m an Asian foodie who travels the nooks and crannies of Indochina and the Pacific Islands to eat and today, I had a massive craving for a seafood noodle soup but the one I got here is by far the worst seawater soup I’ve ever had. The squid taste like vulcanized rubber manufactured in New Jersey. The angel hair noodles was okay, it’s not over cooked. The fish cake is over cook and it taste like it’s been left out in the open for days. It is unfortunate that this is my first Unilocal review. While lying on my couch feeling sick and nauseous I have an urge to write this I feel obligated for everyone to know about my experience. I have to ask my fiancé to get me a couple of Tums and ginger ale

This is a place with nice American Chinese food! I always come here when I work around the Hell’s Kitchen. They renovated this place last year and it looks beautiful now compared to previous place. They have the best Chicken Broccoli that I’ve ever had, the scallion pancake is amazing too. The drinks are reasonable prized too.

Very slow service. They stopped serving tea with meals, now only on request. Maybe it was our server? Uncomfortable ventilation with ceiling fan going full speed above us. Seemed very slow in bringing out our orders. Shanghai Wonton Soup was lukewarm. Moo shu pork had an overpowering spice, tasted ‘off’. Didn’t bring the ample leftovers home. Baby shrimp with black bean sauce was tasty. Overall a disappointing experience at dinner time.

Mee Noodle Shop(newly reopened and renovated) is one of the best Chinese restaurants in New York City and absolutely the best in Hell’s Kitchen. Hands down. They are always efficient, have incredibly low prices and offer the best and freshest Chinese I’ve had in recent memory. If you are looking for General Tso’s Chicken(white meat only option available — and spicy as hell), Pork Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Beef w/String Bean(to die for) and great Roasted Duck… look no further. They’ve also got a great Roast Pork Bun. I love the new look of the dining room. They finally have a restaurant that matches the quality of the food — but they didn’t lose their great prices or quick service.

First time in this place, although it bills itself as a noodle joint, it actually has many more other dishes. Some are more Americanized than what you get in Canal Street. To start with you can have a choice of 6 types of noodles. I tried the pork chops noodles and the broth is good. The spinach noodles are s ok and there are two pieces of thin sliced pork chops. My buddy had the sweet and sour pork and it was the type that fried in batter. The favor is there. Not bad for a quick meal.

I really like this place. The food is very good and fresh. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The remodeling came out very nice and it affords for a pleasant dinning experience. The noodle bowls look amazing as everyone orders them. I had a steamed chicken with mixed vegetables dish and brown rice. Very solid establishment with fair prices. They do carry beer.

I ordered take out from here quite a few times, because it’s so close to where I live. I really want to like this place as people are pretty friendly, but after trying for 3 times, the food quality is really only 2 stars. The only reason why I’d come here would be because it’s cheap and fast. The menu selection is huge, but the quality and taste of food is really average. I tried shrimp dumpling, shrimp shu mai, vegetable dumpling, seafood dumpling, tofu with blackbean source and mapo tofu. Every dish is quite oily and the food quality is average at the best. Come here only when you want something cheap and fast.

Too good to be true, almost. My friend wanted to come here, which is the only reason I discovered this UNBELIEVABLY good and cheap noodle place. My roast pork with the linguine noodles(you can pick from 8 noodle varieties) was truly excellent. And 9 bucks! Apparently it was mostly a to go outfit before the renovation. But it was perfectly pleasant to dine in. When I searched on Unilocal,I found one on the East Side(53rd/2nd or so). That’s near Le Mangoire, the Cigar Inn, and one of the April someone(famous chef) places a friend in New England raves about. Also the Upsider. That little section of the East Side has really come alive with food. I am thrilled. Hope the place in the low 50s will come up to the low 60s further West. They also have noodles«dry,» meaning not in broth. I loved my dinner. The noodles were flavorful and perfectly cooked. Not too soft.

Decent and fast. Ordered the bare minimum with a noodle soup(spinach noodles) with veggies and a scallion pancake. Neither had that great of a flavor… thinking the order itself did not lend itself to what would come packed with flavor, but I was looking for SOMEthing extra — I’ve definitely had better flavored veggie broth than this. I will hold myself from ordering from here for a little bit longer but its a fast cheaper than usual option. Also, dont be fooled with seamless if it shows most ordered is a scallion pancake, it was likely NOT for the flavor but as a filler in the cart to get to a minimum delivery order… did not like it.

I was a little concerned that after its six-month(it seemed) renovation, Mee, would’ve lost its cheapo charm. By moving the kitchen in back, they’ve added more seating, and it isn’t as cramped and clinical-looking as before. I was happy to see one familiar waitress, who told me that the cooks were all the same as from before. It seemed that way to me, from the lunch specials I’ve tried. The white-meat General Tso’s Chicken, for instance, comes in a somewhat glutinous brown sauce which tastes fine to me, but is hardly gourmet. And the chicken’s «breading» is perhaps a touch thick, but there’s lots of it, it’s definitely white-meat chicken, and tastes freshly made. It’s still the best lunch deal in the area, and I’m thrilled its back. The photo is of egg foo young. Not the prettiest, but damn filling.

This used to be a very inexpensive place to eat. Was a hole in the wall, but it closed for remodeling and is amazing what the owners did to this space. The prices are the same as they were. The lunch menu is good until 5 o’clock. One of the servers is also still there and she is always very friendly and service is very fast. Lunch can easily be well under 10.00. Gigantic bowls of soup with so many choices. So happy they reopened

I went yo this location a while back before the renovation and had a horrible experience with the cashier. The cashier at that time was rude and unprofessional so I decided not to be a patron of this establishment in the future. Fast forward two years later I saw that the restaurant had gone through a renovation so I will assume that they must’ve fired all the old staff or maybe the old staff had found another job because who can really be unemployed for 6 months in New York. I decided to give Mee another shot because there isn’t really a lot of Cantonese food around hells kitchen. Hell kitchen seem to have adopted Thai food as the new Chinese take out because every block on 9th ave all the way down to 42nd street seem to have one. Enough of the history and now for the main attraction. I ordered the roast pork over pull noodle but basically got roast pork with instant noodles so not worth it in my opinion. I would basically stay away from any of the noodle dishes… just stick with the rice dishes and go during lunch for their lunch special.
