Coppersmith’s is a good bar. Coppersmith’s isn’t a great bar. I feel like I could take it or leave it. I like it and I will stop in when I’m hanging around Hell’s Kitchen, but I don’t feel a need to go out of my way to go there again. The service is decent enough, the alcohol is strong enough.

I couldn’t agree with Peter any more so on his review. This bar was pretty much an average bar by my workplace. Came here for some not soo expensive, not really soo cheap drinks. Service was pretty good though. The bartender/waitresses were pretty on top of things and kept the drinks coming when we needed them badly. Overall decent bar, I could live with coming here again Or Not.

Great neighborhood bar. Came here on St. Patty’s day to watch March Madness. The TV’s are numerous and large so there was no issue. The crowd was young and a little bridge/tunnel but it wasn’t too crowded so the other groups having a good time didn’t impede on our experience. The service was friendly and the wings were A-OK. Oh, and the bouncer didn’t believe my 27yr old mug was legal. Love the bouncer! Will definately return if I need a sports bar with nice TVs and is easy.

I like to drink by myself, sometimes. I like to people watch when I’m solo drinking as well. At this spot, I drank a pitcher of Yuengling for $ 12 during happy hour, by myself. Watching hell’s kitchen residents walk by reminded me to order some more J. Crew polos and chinos.

There are plenty of other bars in my ‘hood, and this one is so not-special that I avoid going in here at all costs. The beer specials are alright, but like I said, the same specials(or better) are everywhere. I hear the wings are good, but I don’t eat wings. What’s left? It’s loud, the service is bad, and the place is filled with dbags. ps LOVE Louis R.‘s «fat dude buffet, ladies!» comment.

Average place. I like the space that it has but it’s not all that. Everything is average and I think I’ve been here twice. Bars could be a lot worse I know, however there’s nothing special about it. NFL Sundays it gets packed. The wings are good though! You should try those. You could go in and never come back as it isn’t anything special to remember. Just you average bar like all the others in the city.

if you: –live near 53rd and 9th. –enjoy $ 3 pints &3 for $ 1 wings –go out on Monday nights like the rest of us degens in grad school. then this place is 4 stars and the place for you! for the rest of you folks out there, this joint is probably 3stars max, 2.5 at worst. they have pretty good 2 for 1 burger deals on tuesday from 3−10p and consistent $ 3 pint deals throughout the week through friday, but real talk — you can prob find a place just like that close to where you live too. then again, if you feel like commiserating with the degens who stuff their faces with wings and their bellies with $ 3 pints on a monday night, the more the merrier!

Went for a set open bar that was a great deal, especially for the city. Even with the blizzard, the place was packed on a Saturday night. The front area is decently spaced so it wasn’t too bad though. 3 stars– friendly bouncer, who tried to keep the cold air out as much as possible and mopped up the floor to avoid slipping. 4 stars– to the one bartender who even though we had an open bar was attentive and quick with the drinks and poured good sized drinks and poured drinks til the end. 0 stars– to the other bartender who at 1:10 told us we had 15 minutes left on the open bar, even though it went until 2– and also poured small drinks(hint that just means we were up there more often) –5 stars(yes that is a negative) — to the bathroom situation. first 2 out of the 3 stalls in the women’s room were apparently out of order. when i tried to go down there they guy went into mop the floor(cause out of order meant overflowing apparently). then they shut it down completely and made the men’s room unisex. which fine whatever i can pee in a stall with men in there– except you were practically standing in a puddle in there as well plus they had no TP for a while. seriously disgusting, towards the end we all left to find another bar instead of using the bathroom again! Overall the bar was nothing special but a good time. I didn’t try any food so I can’t comment on that. Half the people were there for the game so it did clear out a little bit after that– but there was still a decent amount of people there.

Average local bar, though a bit more spacious and open than most. An assortment of drafts available but nothing top-notch. The 3rd star is only because of a decent wing special on Monday and 2-for-1 burgers on Tuesdays which would be the only draw for me. If you have a bunch of people in your group, this is an ok place as there will probably be enough room and they don’t hassle you unlike some other places in HK.

I have been to Coppersmith’s a handful of times, but would never make it my regular hangout because they don’t do buy-backs! I have never been to a pub where I have sat at the bar and was never bought a drink after having a few rounds. One time my boyfriend joked about it with the bartender and she gave him a dirty look. Other than that, their food is really good. I like their buffalo chicken wrap… and they have Magners! :)

I love Hell’s Kitchen and should really get to know the area better. Fun, and laid back, Coppersmith’s is a great roomy bar. It’s spacious enough that you don’t feel crowded in. The bartender was nice and attentive. Generous tequila shots, and good wings — can’t complain. Men out-number women 2 to 1.

The Superb: Hmm… nothing! The Average: Average priced drinks, decent burgers and sandwiches, and a good location make this a worthy stop when you are tired/thirsty. The Horrid: Not really anything either! This is a typical sports bar that has specials on domestic beers only. Bah! If they had a happy hour that included better prices on their NON Bud/Miller/Coors products I would definitely think about coming back. What kept this from being a 2.5 star rating was the tasty burger and very friendly/helpful/attentive bartender/server who was the only person in the place for the first hour we were there. They were severely understaffed, but she came through like a champ.

I went here with a friend to meet up with another friend for happy hour birthday drinks. We arrived earlier, and were pumped to find out that we were in time for $ 2 Bud Lights between 4−5pm. The price jumps to $ 3 from 5 – 8, and that’s quite all right, in my opinion. While the bar itself is not a memorable place(I had to google the place to remember the name even, Coppersmith’s? Coopersmith’s? Blacksmith’s? bar with blue exterior with wood sign? Or is it a copper sign?), It’s nice to see a bar in this area with cheap drinks. If you’re looking to start off a night of drinking(which I was), this is a solid place to start in the area. I don’t think I will seek this out, but if I’m in the area during the designated cheap hours, I may drop in.

I randomly end up at this place all the time. Which is strange because it’s so out of the way, and not the kind of place that is so good that one would venture out of their way to go there. Anyhoo, it’s a good spot for watching the game. They’ve got all of them on. I didn’t have any food on this occasion, but checked out what the table was noshing on. They seemed to like their apple and blue cheese salads, wings, and quesadillas. But those tortillas were some odd, unnatural orange color. Not appetizing to my eye. I’m sure I’ll randomly end up there in the future as well.

This place has a good deal on Tuesday nights. It’s called 2 – 4 –Tuesdays. Burgers are buy-one-get-on and they are quite delish. It must be noted that the turkey burgers and veggies are excluded from the special. booooo! However, the burger comes with a plate of fries, lettuce, tomato and a pickle. I don’t know if I would frequent this bar any other day, but on burger night it’s quite a deal. Wash down that $ 5 burger with a $ 3 beer and you’re good to go for the night. Oh, minus one star b/c they strictly enforce a $ 20 minimum on credit cards. That shit just pisses me off, especially since our check was $ 36 and we weren’t allowed to split it; «Both cards must meet the minimum.»

This is an average bar. I mean that in an average way. Average bar food, averagely priced drinks, average happy hour specials, average clientele, average service from averagely attractive waitresses/bartenders. I had an average time. My apologies for this below-average review from a person of below-average intelligence.

So this place advertises itself as a sports bar, but it’s not really a sports bar. It’s more like a neighborhood local hang out that happens to have TVs which show sports. There just aren’t really enough big TVs(and the big TV in the back is a projection with a bad picture) to qualify as a real sports bar. But that doesn’t mean this place as bad at all. When I lived right nearby here, Monday was always a good day to go. They used to have $ 1 Bud, Bud Light and Yuengling mugs from 4 – 9 or so. Whenever my buddy and I could get out of work early we always went there for dinner and many many mugs. The beer enthusiast in me wants to be angry that a drinking establishment would actually put the official beer of Pennsylvania on the same level as that now Belgian owned awfulness, but good beer for cheap is good beer for cheap. The food is also good as well, standard bar stuff, I remember thinking the wings, burgers and wraps were all solid. I’m writing this review though because I went a couple weeks ago for Monday Night Football. We didn’t get there until later so I thought I would have missed the special, but things have changed. Now it’s $ 3 Bud, Bud Light and Yuengling pints from 4 – 11. It’s not as good as $ 1 mugs, but it’s still a solid deal. But again, don’t come here if you’re really interested in just watching the game. I’d say it’s a good spot to bring a date if you want to check up on the game but don’t want to get regularly caught obviously ignoring what she’s saying to watch the TV.

Beer pong in the backroom! How awesome is that? No one? Fine I’ll answer my own rhetorical question: It’s very awesome to have a beer pong set up in the back of any place. Imagine how much more fun work would be. I’m just saying…

Me and my friends had just come out of a pretty great dining experience at Kashkaval down the street when we came in here for a night cap, seeing that it was not too packed, as most bars were on the street. We made a complete mistake. This place had HORRIBLE drinks… I ordered the peach martini, which tasted nothing like peach but pure vodka, and it had an eyelash in it. I tried to be accomodating and asked for a cup half-filled with pineapple juice to help out the taste… i was brought a shot of pineapple juice(who does that?)…and it did not help. I exchanged my drink for a Surfer on Acid which was excellent at Down the Hatch a few nights ago… and it was terrible here. The drink tasted so much like Jäger i wanted to throw up just smelling it, and i just waited for the drink to water down so i could gulp it. My friend ordered a glass of wine and it came with some powdery stuff at the bottom of the glass… even the waitress thought it was gross when we brought it to her attention and changed it right away. All in all we had a terrible experience… the service was OK, but the drinks were YUCK and the atmosphere was also bland. Go elsewhere if you are looking for a fun night out.
