Yeah the place is sketchy as hell but honestly what do you expect at Penn Station? I was super excited to get my fries after work that I skipped my way into the store. Naturally, no one greeted me and the lady did not seem to enjoy her job one bit. But I treated her with kindness and kept smiling and thanked her a lot. Service was fast. Got my order in 2 minutes. I got the 2 for $ 3 deal and got fries and a McChicken sandwich. The fries were soooo good. Crispy and mmm mmm good. The chicken sandwich was over-saturated with mayo and tasted kind of blah. But for a total of $ 3.27 after taxes, that’s a pretty good deal.

Why the hell am I reviewing this ? Eating fast food in NYC is always an vulgar scene. This place is an expensive sh*t-hole. I think a single Big Mac is $ 7.00 or $ 8.00 ?! The service here – about 3, 4, 5 years ago was much better. Now-it’s kind of a throw-back to the horrible skanky disgusting NYC fast food workers in the 1980s(if you can remember back that far). My biggest fear is what the creepy workers are doing to my food. Hopefully they are taking out all their«anger» on the Friday & Saturday late night DRUNK a**hole bar trash crowd going back to Long Island(Babylon line, I’m looking at YOU!) . The morning crew here is MUCH better than the night crew(if that means anything to you) .Feels overall safer to eat here then. Plus they can only over-charge just so much for an Egg McMuffin . BONUS: tons of homeless people here washing their feet !

This McDonald’s is literally tucked into the corner of Penn Station, right where people buy the tickets for the LIRR. It’s more of a grab n go type of McDonald’s. There’s a tiny, shady looking sitting area inside, that feels cramped. The blue lighting inside is weird and you see all sorts of weird shit there.loll.

Watch out for the ghetto workers. They tried to charge me $ 4 for a coffee that should cost $ 1 at any mcdonalds! Major corruption going on here!

It’s 1 in the morning on a Tuesday and I am questioning everything that has led me to this moment. Here I am in the bowels of Penn Station, ordering mcnuggets and fries. I both hate myself for my gluttony and commend myself for my bravery. Service is fast, because the usually unmanageable crowd has slowed to a trickle in these, the darkest hours of the night, and of my life. There is seating. There is always seating, but only for half an hour. The food is hot, but not hot enough to spark my soul into life. As far as mcnuggets go, these are good ones. Of course, mcnuggets don’t go very far. My train is never coming. My world is chicken byproduct, grease, and despair. I’m lovin it.

Probably the worst McDonald’s that I’ve ever been to and it wasn’t always like this. I’ll make it as short and quick as the time that I try to spend in here. The plus side is that they are open 24 hours but I’m starting to think that doesn’t outweigh the negatives of this McDonald’s and my expectations are already not too high. I mean, it’s fast food! There are some GLARING negatives here and it seems to get worse every time I go in(I think they have a new manager that treats this place like a joke… the old manager was pretty tough). The new employees are reluctant to help… they are super slow now(was not like this before), they constantly put in your order and then leave the back with let’s say 2 out of 3 items, forget your order and then come back to it after. This new idea about helping as many customers as possible at one time isn’t helping out the flow of this location. One at a time works much better here: order, give the food, pay, goodbye… not order your food and watch one person scramble to take 3 more orders and then remember what to do and then forget which inevitably leads to NEVERGETTINGTHERIGHTORDERANYMORE! Also, they have become rude as in: I always ask for ranch and buffalo sauce with my nuggets… after years of this, one employee blatantly said they don’t make that. I said they do and she said no that she never heard of it(she’s been there forever). The problem is she didn’t want to look for it. She’s a shorter, older woman with black hair that is always closest to the seating area. Anyway, I went back the next day — everyone seems to be able to find it except for her.(she could at least see they ran out instead of acting like i’m delusional by asking). Also, if you don’t ask for any sauce or ketchup… any condiment then they will not ask you anything and will give you nothing. So make sure you ask for each thing that you want. They seem to have more employees, but now the extras are lazy and walk around behind the counter looking at you but not taking your order. They have no concept of choosing the next person in line… they just take whoever they look at. If you have a lot of time go here. It has gotten very bad.(Just this morning and egg white and cheese on a biscuit — no meat. I got to work and took one bite… I could taste the meat that they put on and then probably took out of the sandwich… not the first time they add the meat after I repeatedly say«no meat… egg white and cheese». Of course I always get the eye roll along with my wrong order.

This store is really in need of help. The queue had three people and still after finally reaching the front, the order itself took just over 10 mins and I nearly missed my train. The server could not understand my order — a frappé and a soft drink. The manager was trying hard to run things smoothly, but failing with her team — the staff appeared to be plodding along at zombie pace. I finally got my order and was also offered someone else’s! The only employee I felt sorry for was the old lady cleaning the front of the store. She was hunched over and could barely move and had to pick up dropped straws… although I noticed she placed them back into the dispenser. This made me cringe as I’m a bit fussy about food hygiene and despite the straws being wrapped, the traffic passing through that store was too heavy and the place too grubby for that to be acceptable for me. I can only see myself returning here if a) all my jabs are up to date, b) I wish my patience to be tested, and c) I loose my mind.

As good as a McDonalds at Penn Station could be really… GOOD: — 24⁄7 — seating — quick — food usually pretty«fresh» because of the large amounts of traffic/orders dealt with every day — cheap… Duh! — only eatery open in Penn Station 24⁄7 BAD: — 30 min max seating time — small seating area — dirty floors/seating areas — rude service
