It is a Duane Reade in Penn Station, so that is almost like having two strikes against it already! I have been here when it is crowded and it is hellish due to the way the checkouts are setup. The people waiting to pay block you from getting what you need, whether it is vitamins, hair color or an enema.
However, the cashiers are friendlier than I would be if I had to work in the armpit of NYC day after day, so I’m giving an extra star for that.
But there is a nice DR on street level over on 8^th if you want a more fulfilling DR experience.

I’ve been here a few times, most recently last Thursday. I wanted to pick up their selection of the store brand canned mixed nuts. I also picked up one can of their almonds. Thankfully they were both on sale so I saved $ 5.50 for the two cans. Thankfully the line that I was in was dwindling fast, so I didn’t stay too long in line.

I’ve been here so often, most especially after coming from the subway in the basement. this is the duane reade branch where I saw a guy casually stealing an item he wanted from racks and just went through the cashiers and the guard who was trying to run after him. the ladies, who were mostly indians I recall now, were in chorus trying to call his attention. but he soon got lost in the crowd, and I told myself «that was easy!»
