Total chaos. Tons of people standing around. Have they ordered? Are they on line? There’s no way to tell. Set up some rope lines, please.

The last two times I went there for an egg Mcmuffin, there was copious amounts of egg shell in the sandwich. Otherwise, this is just another McDonalds…

With all the recent publicity over a menu overhaul, I decided to try their recently launched Sirloin Burger. Wanting to taste the meat, I skipped the mayo and cheese. The burger was surprisingly tasty: fresh and at 1⁄3 pound, well worth the $ 4.99(Special included medium fries and a coke.) At this usually disorganized small express location, I was pleased that one counter lady took the orders and one other processed the orders without any delay. What could have been a great fast-food dining experience, was slightly tarnished with a non-impressive slice of tomato and a wilted piece of lettuce. KEEPTRYINGMACDONALDS!

When reviewing mega food chains, my review is more about the staff, service and atmosphere then it is about the homogenous over processed bland food. Small and clean, the morning crew seemed to be happy to working with each other and happy to serve their customers. This McDonald’s Express lived up to it’s name as my order was done and I was out the door in a couple of minutes.

We call this place the Homeless McDonald’s. «We» being my office, since it’s only a block away, and because it’s a pretty accurate depiction of the clientele that comes here. I am thankfully not homeless, but I have come here out of shame and desperation, which is often accompanied by its own special vacancy otherwise reserved for self-respect. A few times a year, something stirs inside me that can only be satiated with greasy Chicken McNuggets and an over-salted order of Large Fries, and no matter how many other lunch spots I try to visit first, deep down, I know I’m always going to end up at this here Mickey Dee’s. To their credit, the food is no better or worse than other McDonald’s and the staff is typically quick and civil. But the counter is steps from the front door, which leads to a traffic jam of seedy and/or ashamed individuals to the point where any sort of order is impossible. Cutting would be a thing if a line was able to be formed in the first place. Just jump in, order, jump out, wait for food, leave. That’s as orderly as it gets. It should also be noted that this is actually a McDonald’s Express, which means it doesn’t offer the full menu and you’ll have to get your McFlurry fix elsewhere. There’s also a second floor with extra seating, if you’re feeling especially adventurous /depressed. When I’ve walked back to the office with that greasy, red and yellow bag in my hand, my co-workers have not only judged me because it’s fast food(I’ve gotten everything from finger-pointing to «Is everything OK?»), but because they know that I actually went to the Homeless McDonald’s to get it. These are dark days, but I get by. I get by.. ..

As my husband stated«they take the fast out of fast food» Just left with an incomplete order because the kids got too restless to sit there and wait any longer.

Dear fellow food lovers, Some of you may be confused as to why I have taken my precious time to review Mcdonald’s, but there is a lot to be said about this Michelin star restaurant in the West Village. I am going to take an intersectional approach to reviewing the franchise, so that I keep the review snappy yet informative. I feel as though I should start by saying this: I visited the restaurant a little intoxicated after a night out with my chums. With this said, I was in a fine state to pass judgements. Beginning with the most important aspect; the food. Everyone has heard of Mcdonald’s, and if you haven’t, you do not deserve a place in society. I tactically planned my trip so that I could order something from the breakfast menu(my favourite meal of the day for those of you who know me). I visited Mcdonald’s at 5.15am on a Saturday(prime time), and waited patiently in the queue that was building up by the second. Once I reached the front, I gave my order to the rude cashier who made me feel as though I was more trouble than I was worth there. Even though this did aggravate me a little, I decided to keep my snide comments to myself as I did not want spit in my food. I also did not want to upset her because being a Mcdonald’s worker is bad enough as it is. Leaving this mishap aside, my «Sausage and Egg McMuffin’ was truly outstanding; the so-called meat was cooked to perfection, the eggs were just the way I like it, and the 10,000 calorie breakfast bun was really something else. All in all, 10⁄10 for that — compliments to the chef. The vibes.. now I was not a huge fan of the atmosphere at all. This was the only thing that put a damper on my experience at Mcdonald’s, West Village. It appeared that I was among the select few who actually had a home to go to afterwards. Everyone was either homeless, «guidos», or illegal immigrants. Whilst, of course, I am not at all critical of these people, I do wish to state that they did actually affect my visit. I felt out-of-place and frankly terrified. I decided to take my meal ‘to go’ and sprint all the way back to the comforts of my home. I hope this gives you a good idea of what you can expect if you ever decide to visit Mcdonald’s, West Village. Best, P

Was desperate for a bite before a movie so I walked in. Terrible inefficiency(my value menu spicy chicken sandwich took ~10 minutes).

The best part of this McDonald’s is the upstairs seating area. When no one else is up there, it can be a nice place to sit, read, enjoy some junk food, and watch cars and people go by on Varick Street. When it’s full of people, it loses some of its charm. I can’t highly recommend the staff and the food. If you order an ice water they look at you funny and then when you confirm what you want, they give you a cup of water that tastes a little like Minute Maid or whatever fruit soft drink the tap water lives next to. Today when I went, I was asked possibly the dumbest question anyone ever asked anyone. It’s about 40 degrees outside, and the guy who I ordered from asked me if it was hot or cold outside. I was like, wait, what? It’s about 50 degrees away from being hot. I mean, I guess the sun was shining brightly, but come on. It made me wonder if management keeps the employees locked up in a dungeon in a secret concealed basement.

This is an express, so they don’t have a full menu, however the environment is really pleasant. The setting is mellow and the customer service is attentive.

This may be my second favorite McD’s location, despite the fact that it isn’t really a full fledged McDonald’s. It’s an Express, but it’s just so cute. How can you not love it? Cute. Tiny. Two Floors. No ODB. Oh, forget it. I’m going back to Philly.

This is where I come when I’m hung over or when I just really need a fix of McNuggets. It’s McDonald’s, I know. I try so hard to hate it, but sometimes I just need it. The service here is usually quick and a lot of the employees are surprisingly friendly. The one big negative is the shady crowd that collects here late at night on weekends when SOB’s empties out. Drunken idiots are stumbling in by the dozen, leaning against all of the walls and shouting about how badly they want their Filet-o-Fish. It’s a mess.
