I was waiting to be blown away as I had read so many nice reviews(even when it was still Asian Mix or A Mix) about the place(not necessarily on Unilocal) and the fact Seamless Web was promoting it as one of its discounted first-time-order only restaurants. The delivery was about as bad as I could have imagined: The delivery man was late and didn’t speak English(thankfully we communicated in Chinese), the order was incorrect, the food was poorly packaged, and everything tasted like garbage. I had ordered sushi rolls, phở, and some pad thai for my party at work and they were all very disappointing. Worst one of all was the phở, which is easily the worst I’ve ever had in New York, which says a lot. Thankfully had it not been for the Seamless discount, I would’ve felt super ripped off given their items are semi-pricey. My coworkers felt the need to come back here to justify the terrible delivery and eating in was a much better experience than the delivery. The place is a lot nicer than I expected, as it was clean, semi-spacious, and the service was very charming. The sushi rolls this time around were of very large proportions and about as pricey as other regular sushi joints. The Manhattan Roll had enough avocado on it to resemble a tree caterpillar and the Pink Tree Roll looked pretty but tasted like mayonnaise on rice. Having learned my lesson with the phở from the first time around, I decided to shoot for other Vietnamese specialties like the spring rolls(crispy) and grilled pork chop. At roughly $ 11 for the pork chop(which could be had in Chinatown for $ 6), it tasted like it should’ve been $ 1 instead. The crispy spring rolls tasted alright, but not enough to justify paying $ 6 for 4 pieces. We attempted to order family style with General Tso’s(blech!), Curry Chicken, and Scallion Scallops only to learn that all three were super rip offs and tasted so bland that attempting to describe the taste in writing could never do it justice. Thank goodness the total bill for $ 70 worth of blah, was on the company dime.

i ordered from seamless web lastnight, and i swear i was still sitting at my computer when the buzzer rang — they were sooo quick. i only got a tuna roll and bbq spare ribs with plum sauce, but they were both SO good. a lot of sushi places skimp on the tuna in their tuna rolls, but there were HUGE pieces of great fish in these rolls. a thin layer of rice and a huge chunk of fish, just the way it should be. and the spare ribs were great too, and came with a little cucumber salad and some veggies. i’m definitely ordering from here again. highly recommended. ** i had to deduct stars and i have to edit my previous review. i went there today during lunch to get sushi. i was really confused, because the number i called said Mazhi, the door of the restaurant says A mix, and everything inside(napkins, chopstick wrappers, menus) says A Taste of Saigon. They got my order wrong and added on something I didnt order. It took them forever to take it off. The tuna rolls were much smaller than the last time i ordered, and half of them were falling apart. i was munching away on my(albeit generous portion of) edamame, and halfway through i found some little maggot-worm type thing in one of the beans. taking this place off my favorites on seamless web :(

Formerly known as A-Mix, this restaurant seems to serve a mix of Japanese and Vietnamese cuisines. I ordered online for an economical lunch special of Grilled Viet Pork Chop, but the restaurant called me and said their pork chop was not up to the standard today as they normally would prepare it, so they politely asked me to select something else. As an apology, they offered a free appetizer, which I thought was quite generous of them, considering my lunch special was only $ 5.95! They were apologizing the whole time. By far the best customer service I have ever received from a restaurant on Seamless Web. My Beef Sate was well sauteed :) It came with brown rice and a can of soda, and of course, my free shrimp summer roll. What a delicious meal!

This place has all sorts of Asian food, from Sushi to Vietnamese. While normally these type of all-in-one joints are more about quantity of selection than quality of fare, this place was a pleasant surprise. The food was quite good, the phở from here is the most competently prepared I’ve had in Midtown, though competition isn’t exactly stiff. Their customer service was top notch as well when there were issues with the restaurant. To top it all of I ordered off Seamless Web and the 20% off. I’ll definitely be ordering from these guys again in the future.
