I stumbled here with two girlfriends after a theater performance in the area. It was a Friday night, but it was relatively quiet and unassuming. The food was average – not particularly amazing, but it was relatively ok for the price paid. We also ordered margaritas(they don’t do frozen) but the strawberry margs were AMAZING. Not too strong, but still did the job. It came in a tall glass. The owner’s son came over to chat with us – a really nice, friendly guy who knew a lot about the neighborhood and the history of the area. This was surprising, since he was only about in his mid twenties. This place is probably a friendly neighborhood hangout with a few locals and a smattering of tourists.

Absolutely terrible food and service. The host woman will try to lie to you and sneak fees on to your bill.

dropped by on a thursday at 2PM, starving and craving some tacos. I shouldn’t have. I tried the chorizo, carnitas and carne asada tacos, and they were all pretty bad. The meat on the carnitas seemed barely cooked since it was a light pink color, the carne asada seemed liked it was just boiled in water and sprinkled with pepper, and chorizo just didnt even taste like chorizo. the tacos were all gross. service was also pretty slow, i waited for about 10 minutes watching the wait staff have a conversation at the bar while neglecting everyone in the restaurant. It was pouring rain outside too, and i would have rather stood outside getting soaked for 30 minutes than have wasted my time coming here.

Great customer service, however we were given stale chips and soupy salsa Not to mention the long wait service. To go on further would be a catastrophe then ones hopes are. The food is disgusting STAYAWAY

The worst chillaquilles I’ve ever had. Soggy, flavorless, sauce was runny… Just not good at all.

Not very large. Service was friendly. Sometimes took a while to get the waiters attention. But the food came out fast. They do have a bar but did not seem anyone was bartender. Mostly a drink making station. Food was decent. The hot sauces were great.

Ever since I have tried authentic home cooked mole, I could not get the wonderful taste off of my mind. For years I have been wanting to find a place that can make mole the same way I had first had it and this is the place! I dined in for lunch with my Mexican friend and we ordered horchata and he said it was a little too sweet, and I thought so too but I liked it that way. Of course I ordered the Mole Poblano without beans and he ordered the nachos with cheese, jalopeno, chicken and some pico de gallo. Before the food came we received some chips and pico de gallo dip. The waiter was friendly and attentive. But back to the Mole Poblano. The plate did look a little skimpy because I requested no beans but the chicken was very juicy and the sauce was absolutely PERFECT. It had that pinch of sweetness and spiciness to it that I had not found anywhere else, it sent me to straight to heaven at the first bite. Needless to say I consumed the entire plate.

Best Mexican in lower Manhattan. Friendly and lively. Plenty of seating. Very generous wait staff! Get the Maya fajitas — it’s the best deal on the menu if you like chorizo and chicken. The chicken is super flavorful. Good for group and families. Or just rolling solo, as the service is very fast!

as visitors in NYC we wanted to eat where the locals do. This place is small with not much to offer outside of FANTASTIC food and great drinks! The food was delicious and the drinks were worth every penny. Some of the best authentic Mexican food we’ve had, anywhere. Casual outing and nice staff. Would recommend to anyone.

The nachos were hard. The glasses were dirty, the place was filthy to say the least. I wasn’t at all impressed with the food, it was very mediocre. Even the likes of Dos Toros and Baja Fresh are better. Also, they are sneaky with the gratuity. We were a party of two, but they automatically tagged the tip to the total. That wasn’t even the problem, the problem was when they wrote ‘pre-tip’ amount on the credit card receipt. I ended up tipping 45% for crappy service. I disputed the additional tip with CC company.

Mariachi’s is a good, affordable place for Mexican food. It isn’t a classy spot with upscale Mexican options but a casual place to get your typical selection of burritos, tacos and enchiladas. It won’t be the sort of place that provides a memorable meal, but it will give you some tasty options at a reasonable price. The chicken in their meals is quite tender, and I liked it better than the steak options.

This place is subpar. I was excited to eat her to be honest but then the food was a complete disappointment. The place seemed like it would be authentic and flavorful and it was not that. We ordered a plate of enchiladas and tacos. What we got we’re just a items microwaved. The tacos were warm to the point of it being cold. The cheese inside was barely melted and the meat itself was ridiculously hard and dry. The enchiladas, same thing. Microwaved, barely hot and was clearly was not cooked to order. As for the service, subpar AGAIN. The waiter was not attentive, and he even forgot one of my friends orders. It was just not a great dining experience overall. The place served incredibly mediocre food at an incredibly overpriced prices. Do yourself a favor, just find someplace else around. TriBeCa has great places and this is not one of them.

The food was crazy good. My corn soft taco was filled with tender carnitas and other fillings including mashed avocado. on the side was a lovely salad of spinach, tomatoes, corn and beans. Overall, the food tasted fresh and I have no complaints. Mariachi’s was a reasonably priced haven in a sea of Tribeca’s shuttered luch spots or stuffy, fancy night spots. There are margaritas, but I didn’t see them on the menu. Refined margaritas? Not remotely, but they went down for me.

I had a «Que Paso» burrito and she had an order of Carnitas Tacos. We both tried each other’s plate and they were both good! The tortilla chips are homemade and have its own unique and exquisite flavor, the salsa was even better. I asked a waiter(possibly might’ve been the manager, he was dressed differently) if he could do me a big favor and present a cake I bought especially for my girlfriend. With a smile he said yes and helped me out. Everything played out perfectly thanks to the helping hand of the staff :)

The Quick: 3 – 3.5 Mexican food with an extra star for amazing service and a fun spot. All about those margs. The Details: The food is good, obviously enhanced by a few margs — the strawberry, get it. This is not the type of place I would come for an amazing meal, but with a few drinks and lots of laughs, it’s a perfect spot to begin or end a rowdy night. Everyone liked what they ordered but nothing was overly exciting. For $ 8 you can start with chips salsa AND guacamole… any place that doesn’t charge extra for Guac can have my first born(this is why I’m not married). They were very quick to refill the chips. The fajitas were good the burritos were good, the strawberry margarita was fantastic and the staff was perfect. — The staff are the kind of people you want to get wasted with. Overall just a really fun spot and reasonably priced. The Damage: $ 12 entrees, inexpensive margs and beer… depending how much you drink, probably $ 20-$ 25 pre tip.

not earth-shattering but perfect for comfort food. the price is a little high but considering the location… understandable for those nyc rents! and i will gladly pay the higher price to have a no-frills quality establishment like this. the portions are well sized and the food is simple. what shines the most for me is the energetic staff, the relaxed atmosphere, and the incredibly approachable menu! the menu doesn’t dumb things down for newbie mexican foodies but it does add in nice educational info in a way that i easy to read compared to other mexican menu monstrosities i’ve encountered! enjoying my horchata & chorizo burrito. this place would be great for an after work happy hour dinner party!

There is an overabundance of mediocre Mexican restaurants that charge too much in Manhattan… and this is not one of them. This is a mediocre Mexican restaurant that charges a mediocre price. As far as Manhattan goes, one might even say Mariachi’s is a value. I’ve been here several times, and while nothing has ever wowed me, nothing has ever disappointed me either. They don’t skimp on portion size, and most dishes will not leave you wanting. They offer the whole gamut of Mexican offerings with the same 4 – 5 meat offerings that come on tortillas prepared/shaped in a different manner. Personally, I feel the steak here is a little weak, and would stick with the pork and chicken.
