The tacos are delicious. The prices are great. The only negative about this place is that they take a long time to deliver. Many times the delivery person arrived about 45 minutes to an hour after I placed my order.

The food is not edible. We ordered on Seamless where the reviews were decent — big mistake. Delivery took more than an hour. The chicken in the chicken tacos was a weird grayish brown color and tasted like cardboard. The rice was cold and very bland. We took three bites and then threw $ 45 worth of food away. It was TERRIBLE.

Don’t be fooled, but yes this is an Asian establishment cooking Mexican food. Very little seating if you would like to sit down and eat your food. Lunch special from 11:30 — 3:30 of which I had steak quesadilla with a side of rice and black beans. Steak quesadilla is very good and very chunky if you your looking for a quick bite this is the spot around the area. My order came about to $ 7.75 between the time of the lunch special.

Not the best burrito I’ve ever had. I honestly don’t understand how their steak burrito is one of the most popular on the menu. Very disappointed. The rice lacks flavor and I barely had any guacamole. Very, very disappointed.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I’m not really sure what was worse, the service or the food? The order delivered to my office was incomplete, missing some big ticket items(main courses), and when we called to advise and ask if maybe some things were left behind, the guy on the phone argued for over 10 minutes with me insisting that the food was delivered. He offered absolutely no solution to the issue. The food that was delivered was a tasteless concoction of processed foods. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Been eating at this place for years! You know you have hit the jackpot when its a Mexican place operated by Chinese people that scoops rice out of a Chinese rice cooker! Portions are big and filling. Delivery is extremely fast. One of the better cheap places around.

Gotta love this place. Taco house has been in business for 17 years. Wow didn’t believe it’s still around. I used to work around the Tribeca area and had lunch here often. My job had to sent me to another branch so I haven’t had Mexican food for a long time. So disappointed that there was not one mexican restaurants where I work. I was in this area visiting some of my friends and decided to stop by. Management had changed and some things has been improved. What I order most is the rice combos. It comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, onions, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes cheese and two tortillas or hard shell tacos. You can make ur own taco wrap or eat it as it is. You can add on more items for 30 cents n up. It’s less than $ 6. It’s similar to a burrito bowl from Chipotle but of course cheaper. Cheap and filling. Wish I can work or live in this area to eat more often at taco house. Everyone this is a must try. It’s good enough for the price and will keep u full at the same time. Keep it up taco house.

We ordered through Seamless, and it definitely looked/tasted like it was a Chinese restaurant that made tacos. I ordered chorizo tacos, which were flavorless, cold chopped up sausage with no seasoning. Also they charged me for onions and then just never put them on the tacos. My husband got steak tacos and also was not happy. It was straight up very cold food too, and we can’t blame the weather considering we get food delivered hot almost daily.

Better than Taco Bell… if that’s saying anything. Stopped in after a Monday night of whiskey and wandering with a craving for some authentic Spanish cuisine to find its way upon my palate. Had bookmarked then months ago as it was the only taco shop in a sea of pizza parlors down in the financial district so I figured why not give it a shot. At first glance, you won’t think it’s a Taco House… as it looks nothing like a house of taco and more like the typically quick Chinese restaurant setup you see everywhere. Once inside, you realize why it has that quick Chinese restaurant feel, mainly because it was clearly a Chinese restaurant at some point and someone decided to change it into a taco house… but changed nothing else about it. Like, really, they changed narrowly a thing from their old ways, so much so I think the wok they cooked my taco rice in is the same wok they use to make the delicious Chinese Stir-Fried Rice I typically order from Chinese restaurants. The tacos were nothing spectacular but weren’t terrible by any means. A little light on cheese and sauces, but the chicken had a savory flavor to it that was exactly what I was looking for before riding the rail cars down the Manhattan underground. They do offer delivery service I noticed, as an elderly man made his way in to grab a bag of food then back out into the night upon his little motorized bicycle. As far as being a place I would venture into again, I’d have to say if I’m in the mood for a taco, I would make my ways elsewhere because this is not going to give you the satisfaction you may be craving.

Oh my. Do NOT order from here. I ordered through seamless and now I wish I had reviewed the Unilocal reviews! Ordering and delivery was fine. I was shocked to see an Asian man delivered my food in a red bag(common in Chinatown) and when he handed me my food he kind of stood there… was he waiting on tip? He then yelled something in Chinese to me and left… what the! Ok the food. This isn’t a quesidilla? Looks like two flat breads together. Fine, I’ll try it I said. Where’s the cheese? Didn’t I order chicken? I called the store and an Asian picks up. Why is a Mexican restaurant being ran by Asians? He yelled a few times in Chinese to his co-workers and he asked«am I sure it’s not chicken because steak & chicken look alike» and said the cheese was mixed in. I gave up on the phone call because it wasn’t going anywhere. To say the least, I threw it away and definitely won’t order ever again! Save your money and go to a real Mexican place!

Had a rather disappointing meal from Taco House, which is surprising given its authentic name and good reviews. My enchilada, filled with fairly tough chicken, had the requested lettuce and guacamole unceremoniously dumped on top. The cheese inside was an unnatural shade of orange and clearly salted heavily. I turned to my guacamole and chips as a last resort, only to find my guac had turned a rather unsavory brown — as it does when it is left out for a couple hours. It was at this point that I gave up and headed out for some Korean Chicken. Hopefully that will be better… but I can’t see how it could be any worse.

I’m new to using Seamless and I made the horrible mistake of choosing a place based on no delivery charge and the star rating on Seamless instead of cross referencing it with Unilocal. If I had, I certainly would not have chosen Taco House. But it was late, I was starving, and I didn’t feel like buying $ 20 worth of food so there you go. The order took three times longer than it was supposed to, and when I called to make sure it was coming they didn’t seem to care at all. The delivery guy looked pissed to the point of being alarming, but it was late and I live in a walk-up, so I cut him a break. Then came the food. It was probably stupid to get a tostada salad, but anyway it was on the menu and it was called a Guacamole Tostada Salad, so I was hopeful. The thing came in a pastry box and was completely disassembled. The lettuce was in one corner of the box, the cheese in another. There were no beans. The guacamole that was so prominently promoted was in a teeny tiny container, like the size of the salsa cups at a taqueria. Same with the sour cream that I paid extra for. It was the saddest meal ever and it put a bad taste in my mouth about Seamless. I’m going to keep trying because I’m lazy and hungry very often, but I definitely will not be going back to Taco House, whether it’s online or in person!

For the first Memorial Day weekend in five years, I was not with my family on a houseboat, moseying the waters of the Midwest. In fact, I was in quite the opposite. I’m in the financial district, alone, after spending the past three hours waiting to ind out if I was having a root canal. The doctors had gone home. It was a bad day for tooth pain. I had to choose quickly. I needed substance I could chew lightly, and around every corner a door was closing early for the holiday weekend. I had antibiotics to take. Dollar pizza slices mocked me as I walked by. «You know what I wouldn’t mind?» I asked myself aloud, «A burrito, perhaps an enchilada.» Unilocal guided me to my closest salvation. Taco house. No frills. No artifice. And the enchiladas came quite the same. Built as though a child followed enchilada instructions, and filled in the colors with their crayons, my bowl contained a colorful, obvious, and candid arrangement of materials. The flavor, the texture, the temperature… As mediocre as possibly conceivable. I did however find this moment a lesson in appreciating what I have as a person with access to food immediacy– that although I was alone this holiday, I was fed to complacency and could appreciate the privilege of processed foods. It is better than nothing. If nothing else, these plasticized ingredients sustained my life force for the rest of the day– which is good enough reason to count my blessings.

Never been inside Taco House. Never actually even seen it. And that’s fine with me. The food here is just«fine» too but I religiously only order quesadillas. Totillas are always fresh. Seriously addicting. Also, they are fast. Not just like, they deliver«on time» and within the time they tell you it takes to deliver. I mean, they slash that time in half. I swear sometimes my doorbell rings in 5 minutes(I’m about 16 blocks away, just counted.) My roommates and I joke that the door men in our building secretly work for Taco House. For all I know, they do.

STOP! Don’t waste your time or money. Don’t do it. A few friends and I went here one night for a quick and cheap dinner. As it goes, you get what you pay for. I guess we should have known when there was nobody else in the restaurant but I really wanted this to be a hidden gem. It wasn’t. Not even close to being one. I ordered the chicken fajita, chili bean taco, chips, guac, and a water which totaled approximately $ 10. The water was the undisputed best part of the meal. The guac was dull and flavorless, the fajita came stuffed with burnt greasy chicken and the chili bean taco was alright. The taco had the most flavor out of the food items but i wasn’t impressed. The portions for everything, including the guac, were very generous but still inedible. They give you a bottle of salsa if you dine in but it tasted watered down and flavorless. My friends got the chicken burtito and regretted not going to Chipotle. A few positives — cheap food, large portions and fast service but that doesn’t matter if they can’t pull off the food. Very big let down!

The food was ok just for the Nacho cheese but the rest… it was too salty. I had the chicken burrito and it taste dry and salty and a chicken taco which didn’t go to well for the stomach

As soon as you walk into the Taco House, everything from the illumination of the wall menu to the setup of the dining tables suggests that you should be in a Chinese takeout joint… which sort of makes sense after you quickly realize that the folks preparing your food are exclusively Chinese. I’m sure I ordered some type of taco, but all I remember is the confusion when I finally received a big glob of who-knows-what in tortilla, followed by the misery in my mouth as soon as I took my first bite. How in the world does this place stay in business? Everything about the food is absolutely terrible. I would go on and on about how insanely bad this place is, but I’ve written too much already. Yuck.
