First service was terrible. We waited 14 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us, no they were not busy. Then we ordered a bottle of wine, that the waiter carried around for an additional 10 minutes!!! We asked for regular sized wine glasses and were told they only had«4» and they were being used. He proceeded to take our appetizer order, received it and then never asked if we wanted anything else. Now first if you call yourself a wine bar have the proper glasses and the manager should really be asking his customers if they are good instead of watching the tv!!! As for the food«we have no idea» shame…

Not a huge fan of this place. The first glass of wine I ordered tasted like it had been sitting out for over a week or two. I exchanged it for a second glass and it was about 80 degrees, I could hardly drink it. The staff was not friendly and I felt like we were bothering them by being in the bar. I would not recommend this place and I won’t stop here again.

This is a big thing for me to write, but I have to say that L’ybane is the ugliest restaurant I have ever eaten in — anywhere! It is so run down looking, with odd vinyl bench seating and creaky tables. There is nothing attractive, charming, or funky about it, not even rate-able as a dive bar. Because of the rundown surroundings, the place seems dirty. And the waitress fit the surroundings perfectly… Although attractive, she did not smile once, nor was she gracious or hospitable at all. The food was all right: a variety of Middle Eastern offerings. Honestly, if some thought would go into investing in the place with a somewhat interesting design element, I would come here pre/post theater for the light dinner and tasty food it offers.

Been here a few times with friends and family when I’ve been in the area for a show. They’re nice and perfectly priced! Not trying to be something they’re not just because they’re in that area. The first time I came was just for drinks and it was completely dead. So we had a good experience in that we were attended to without any problems. The last time I went was for brunch on a weekend. It didn’t get terribly crowded but they definitely needed to have more staff there. Although the server was very sweet, we didn’t wind up getting refills on our drinks(which was the deal for brunch) because she was so busy. But the food was average-good and overall I liked the place. I would return here if nearby and heading to a show.

Meh. Ordered just a few appetizers for a quick bite before a Broadway show. Sat for a long time, hummus came out, no bread, no vegetables nothing. Oh, well that must mean everything else is coming out… Mussels came out And then I watched as our food was delivered to another table each time the woman was like«oh. I guess we did order this» and took the food. So now I’m sitting with a plate of hummus, so naturally I begin to eat this with a fork because I’m an animal and starving and I haven’t seen our waitress. 7:50 our food finally begins to come out(25 minutes later) she explains it went to the wrong table. Eh, forget it wolf down my meatballs, we gotta go. Eh. I’ve had better food and I’ve had much better service elsewhere.

Pretty expensive for what it is. Ordered the hummus with ground beef. Though uninspiring, it was fine but the portion was miniscule given the $ 9 price tag. The entres were also quite pricey. Others at the table ordered salmon which was fine but nearly$ 30 for a modest filet.

Great food — unique and not too pricey! ODD décor needs a lot of work! Bathrooms need some cleaning, too! Otherwise great service for our group of 8 and all our meals were very good!

Cozy restaurant and super convenient that it is across the street from the theater. I ha the mixed platter of grilled chicken and beef. The beef was excellent. Chicken was just good. It could have been juicer. The hummus had a nice lemony flavor to it. The falafal balls were quite good as well. Nicely seasoned and not greasy. The mousaka was very good as well. The platter also came with some persian rice. There is no need to get appetizers if you order this dish.

Decided to go here for a weekday lunch. Appetizers: Onion soup — Even though the bowl looked small, it was a good portion for 2 people. The bread on top was toasted and topped with mozzarella cheese. The soup was very flavorful — a sweet onion taste, with a chunks of cooked down, soft onion pieces. Mussels Mariniere — This was very good, in a white wine sauce. Again, this appetizer was good for 2 people. Entrée: Lobster Ravioli — 7 very large pieces of ravioli. It was stuffed with lobster pieces. The sauce was very good. Just a little bit chewy. Overall the food was good, but just a bit too salty for my taste. I was very thirsty after the meal. The service was very slow. There was only 1 other table in the restaurant. It took a long time for the food to come out. Would I go back? Maybe for dinner. Maybe there was less people working in the kitchen during lunch time…

Good atmosphere, good food, good staff. Ate here on a recent trip I took with my family to NY, the food was great, definitely try the calamari and the chicken lollipops! Also all of the staff were very nice and accommodating. We were helped mostly by Sasha, and he was awesome! Made our whole experience great, definitely be sure to ask for him if you go there. Would recommend this place to anyone!

OK L’Ybane. Let’s get some things straight. Just because you are practically in times square does not mean that you can have menus with stains on them, a sassy waiter who has a hundred other places she’d rather be or walls with patches of paint missing. Clean up your act! Your food was so good! If I wasn’t totally turned off by your dirty menu and frown-y waitress, I probably would’ve been more relaxed and enjoyed my entire experience. So there is currently some really good coupons on that allow you to get your meal at half price(up to 200 $) and for that, it is worth it. Otherwise it is ok for a slightly over priced times square meal. We got lamb cutlets(yum), chicken lolly pops(only 5 for 9 $ but also yum), mussels(dad loved), various salad platter(not the best, but still good) and chicken noodle soup(super fresh veggies and ok chicken, but great broth) Also, they were out of Sam Adams which my dad asked for after seeing it on a list the waitress had just handed him and then made a big out of him having to choose something else. Also the water glasses were dirty. BYEBYE I’ll walk over to ninth and eat dirty thai food next time.

Ugh, three stars and I’m being generous. If you want a Unilocal Elite review perspective, here it is. I walk into L’ybane Wine Bar & Restaurant and they have a happy hour sign posted. I love a good happy hour! Lets talk about my happiness. I ordered a California Cabernet glass at happy hour pricing. My waitress was saying hmm, yes, hmmm and taking my order. What comes out and she was quick to pour what was a really sweet Riesling. I tell her I ordered a Cabernet(I mean, one is white and the other is red) She leaves the glass and I drink this yuckky wine. My Cabernet comes out, not too bad. I ordered a Escargot starter and a Goat Cheese salad. Both items come out quickly. The escargot was overcooked and they gave me these wooden forks to take out the snails. The shells are hot! Did you ever see the Julie Roberts movie where the shell flies in the air? Its because you don’t want to touch a hot shell! My salad just looks off. A buncha greens topped with a rough onion cut, it wasn’t too appealing. Now picture cuts of Italian bread, topped with goat cheese. Yuckk. I’m not done with my salad and my entrée comes out. Okkkkkk… I ordered a Lamb Sausage platter with hummas and falafel. The pita chips were hard and over cooked. This dish wasn’t too bad but I’m done at this point. My waitress? No where to be seen, never asked how was the meal, nothing. I am so not a fan. The part that sucks, I was going to Aldo Sohm Wine Bar and the sign got me. Nice wine selection at affordable happy hour pricing. I’ll pay more for better everything. The sign got me… Never again.

Why in the world would I eat in this part of town? Broadway, Duh. It’s pretty much impossible to find good food around musical row. I have been here 2x. Once for brunch(deserves 4 stars), once for dinner(deserves 2 stars). So far, the quality and flavor of the meal has predicted the quality and flavor of the musical to follow. Two Theories of L’ybane: 1) You should only go here for the pre-fix all-you-can-drink brunch, which is a great deal, good quality and tasty OR2) This is a mystical place, where your meal will serve as a crystal ball and foreshadow how your show will be(let me know if this theory works for you). KINKYBOOTSBRUNCH: My spouse, mother-in-law and I were starving and knew we would need a meal before our show. We decided to just look for something, *anything* that was palatable and close to the theater. L’ybane’s Pre-Fix, All-You-Can Drink $ 18.95 Brunch looked fine and the décor was Broadway-Bohemian-Funk — so we entered. All you can drink mimosas + a SURPRISINGLY delicious mac n’ cheese with truffle oil before Kinky Boots? Best idea ever. The mac n’ cheese was baked in a ceramic dish and was perfectly browned on the outside and was decadent without being overwhelming. My spouse had an omelet that was tasty as well. It was like finding gold — a good brunch spot in the theater district?! The show was fabulous. It was the last performance of the first-run cast(Annaleigh Ashford, Stark Sands, Billy Porter). We all cried during Not My Father’s Son… it was a true Broadway day. SOMETHINGROTTENDINNER: Fast forward to the time I went to L’ybane for happy hour/dinner with my friend, her mom and her mom’s friend. We had tickets to see a preview show after work — so we needed a restaurant that was über close to the venue. Upon entering, the wait staff was standoff-ish. The happy hour is *only* at the bar, FYI. The dinner food was just not great. I felt like I was at a *completely* different restaurant. I ordered assorted food from the small plates(middle eastern). It was ok. My friend said her food was pretty good, nothing to rave about. Then we saw the show… It was rotten, like its title –so bad I wish I had some tomatoes to throw at the stage. How did Brian D’Arcy James leave the cast of Hamilton, where he was the King(I saw that at Joe’s Public) to headlining this piece o’crap show?

Pretty quaint and pleasant wine bar that’s more like a 3.5 star joint to hit up before or after a show. The atmosphere here is definitely one of the big pros about the place. It’s warm, inviting and generally a great place to catch up with friends or your significant other. As expected they have a decent amount of wine options and the happy hour special at the bar is pretty reasonable. The house wines are fine and the price is relatively reasonable. The food was just okay for me. We had the hummus plate which was fine to nosh on but nothing incredibly memorable. We also tried the lobster ravioli which was decent and it was good to see fresh lobster in the mix. But the flavor of the sauce was somewhat bland and lackluster. Maybe if they did something to improve the sauce, the dish would resonate more. The staff was fine and generally friendly. Again, if you’re looking for a place to chill and hang with friends this isn’t a bad choice. I wouldn’t really go here for the food per se, but maybe my next experience will be better on that front.

This place gets understandably packed right before the shows start, which impacts the service so its best to come after 8 when it gets quieter. The staff are very friendly and the service after that was great. We had the hummus to start with olives on top. The olives tasted like they were from a can, however, which is disappointing in a Mediterranean restaurant. We also had the shrimp beignets which were not beignets at all but tasted OK and had a great dip with them. For mains my girlfriend had the lobster ravioli which was nice but drowning in way too much sauce. I had the Mediterranean platter with lamb sausage, felafel, rice and a few other things. Again it was just OK
