Chicken: very good. I prefer their chicken over KFC and Popeye’s. The batter/skin nice and crispy/crunchy with a simple flavor and the meat is juicy and delicious. I feel like the size of the chicken is always larger than what Popeye’s on 40th St gives me, with better deals. Biscuits: GODLY Sides: It’s nice to see fried okra, but I’ve had mixed results from their sides. One time, the cole slaw was going bad. The okra, being fried with a light coating of batter, is enjoyable at first but filling and eventually gets tiring to eat… if I get meals with sides, I would try to swap them for more biscuits…

Chicken from the south. Crispy skin and tender meat. Hot and fresh. Came at 7pm on a weekday and did the $ 4 special. I will be back. May be a turn off as it is located in a crowded and small food court but Church’s is popular in the South and tasted like the ones there.

Decent fried chicken — crispy, crunchy, spicy, juicy. Biscuit was light and fluffy. Good value — $ 3.99 for three pieces and a biscuit.

We came here after Dave & Busters last Friday night, in need of some good fried drunk food. I’m all for experimentation and wanted to see how Church’s Chicken stacked up against my usual fried chicken suspects — Popeye’s and KFC. Church’s is located inside a mini food court on 8th ave that also offers Subway, Nathan’s, and Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips. The place isn’t particularly clean but hey, didn’t really expect much from a fast food court. — Fried chicken — So hot temperature-wise that I had to let it cool down for about a minute before I could sink my teeth into the meat without burning my mouth. The chicken was under seasoned but surprisingly moist. Biscuit that came with the chicken was your standard buttery fare — no comments there. — Mashed potatoes — This was definitely straight out of the package. It tasted like the instant potatoes I’ve made at home, the potato flour that you can reconstitute with water or milk to produce something that slightly resembles fresh mashed potatoes. — Boneless chicken with BBQ sauce — I don’t understand how one dish can be served scalding hot and the other lukewarm. The boneless chicken tasted like half microwaved chicken slathered with some BBQ sauce as an afterthought. Seriously, skip this chain and go to the nearest Popeye’s or KFC for your cheap fried chicken fix.

We ordered from them via Seamless and they managed to somehow get the entire order wrong. Just take the time to read what we placed into our cart! The delivery guy didn’t even bother to knock on our door or ring the bell? He just opened the door like he lives here and just waited for us to sign the receipt? We called the restaurant to complain but they were rude and did absolutely nothing to resolve the incorrect order or to address the unprofessional delivery person. Fast food at its finest!

Here I again. I cannot stand wrong service. A metal strip came out of fried chicken. It was delivered so called the branch spoke with the manager. Instead of hearing sincere apology, I was treated like I was trying to get money back or free food. I wanted to let them know the metal strip looked like from the metal wash clothe and asked them to be careful. But he did not want to listen and treated me like a stupid person. We order it at lunch hour and when my husband came back home, he was having the left over and he discovered the metal piece. So when I called the branch at the evening hour, he said you called now for the food order in the afternoon, it’s a BS. What? Is that a language he uses for the customer. I added a photo of the metal strip on here for everyone’s review. Be careful everyone. They maybe washing chickens with detergent or scraping the feathers with metal clothe. Who knows what they do.

Fried chicken, biscuits, sides — your basic KFC-style meal… that’s delivered! Quick check: Chicken — good, not great, about the same as KFC, not as good as Popeye’s Biscuits — really good, felt like is was baked in with bacon fat, whatever it was it was good — but they only gave me one when I should have gotten two Mac n’ cheese — not great, warm at best, basic fast food style. Overall okay, good for cheap-ish fast food chicken. Probably better options.

Solid place to satisfy your fried chicken fix. The special for 2 pieces and a biscuit $ 3.29 or 3 pieces and a biscuit for $ 3.99 — you can’t get cheaper than that in midtown. The chicken is pretty much on par with popeyes but cheaper!

Location is 7058th Avenue, one of those food court type places with a Subway, Nathan’s, and some other spots including Church’s. I didn’t like the chicken as much as Popeye’s though but it worked. I was in the area and just hungry to eat anything. There was a special they were offering $ 2.49 plus tax for two pieces of chicken Leg and THigh and a biscuit. It worked for me, it was good enough to solve the hunger issue. I will not be coming here frequently though. The chicken sandwich did look good for $ 1.99 with the coupon. Church’s chicken has been around NY for years, I guess people still support them since they are still around.

I’m giving this particular location a one star because the service is horrible! They are so freaking slow and they do not know what they are doing! I love fried chicken but when you’re located in the same store front as nathan’s, arthur’s treacher’s and other food who’s going to wait on that ridiculous line when they have other choices? This place seriously needs to hire more people or hire people that know what they are doing. Otherwise they will be replaced by another franchise.

Far and few Church’s exist in the metropolitan area. I knew it was a franchise, so it couldn’t be that bad. My all-time favorite is the now mostly defunct Roy Rogers, and then comes Popeye’s and KFC. Would Church’s live up to the competition? I ordered a 3 piece mixed dark chicken with mashed potatoes and a biscuit. The staff grabbed 2 thighs and 1 leg from the infrared container and threw them in a box. The skin had the standard crispy breading exterior, which I enjoyed, but the good experience ended there. The meat was not consistent from piece to piece. In one thigh, I got a very dry and what tasted almost like hours old or even a day old chicken. The other thigh was extra juicy and flavorful. And lastly, the leg was in between moist on the very inner, but dry meat towards the skin. In all, I wasn’t the least bit impressed. The mashed potatoes were prepackaged in a styrofoam container along with the gravy, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was still creamy and gravy helped to make it palatable. The sweet biscuit had a nice golden crisp exterior with some kind of dab of sweet honey of the sort. Tasty, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the drab fried chicken. Come on Church’s! You can do better!

Good chicken, good biscuit, I asked for a fresh batch of chicken, and it was in fact fresh and tasty. My apple pie however was cold inside, thus the 3 stars. Not bad at all and they have 2.50 $ deal with 2 pieces of chicken and a biscuit.

Can’t believe I’m even wasting time to review this place. But I have to share my disdain with this place… I came here with my sister during the Sandy aftermath… getting into Manhattan from Queens was awful and involved too long bus rides, lots of standing on said buses and lots of walking over bridges and stuff. We came here because we were hungry and wanted something quick and inexpensive. This place is like a food court and gives folks access to Subway, Nathan’s, Arthur’s Fish & Chips and Church’s Chicken… we went for chicken because my sister wanted biscuits and I was fine with their cheap/stupid sandwich. My chicken was cold. I’m not hard to please, but the center was LEGIT cold(perhaps not properly thawed?! *shudder*) — I asked for another and the moody chick behind the register rolled her eyes and got me a new one. Great. Oh, but wait — I had ordered it without lettuce, I reminded her of this and told her I’d remove it but in the future she should take into account to give customers what they paid for — especially since after I gave her my nasty, cold sandwich I kindly *reminded* her that I wanted no lettuce. She muttered something under her breath and when I asked her to speak clearly if she had something to say the manager came and stood there creepily. I told him what happened and she had the audacity to say, «she never told me she didn’t want lettuce», even my sister’s jaw dropped. I didn’t want to make a big deal about something so trivial, but if you’re going to clearly lie when I’m holding a receipt that even flipping says *No Shred Lettuce* printed on it, then of course I’m going to refute it. When all was said and done, the manager apologized to me — but by now all our food was cold and flavorless. I will NEVER eat at this Church’s Chicken location again. I’ll take my chances next time with Nathan’s or Arthur’s :-/.

Admittedly, I was a little skeptical. Given the lack of migration of Southern fast chains(with exception to Popeye’s) that never seen to make it’s way beyond Virginia /PA, I was surprised to see a Church’s nestled in the very back of a crummy food court in Times Square. Ironically enough, this might be the best option there. For our southern friends living in NYC, this is it. There is no other Church’s in the tri-state area. My dining companions and I attacked the most notable options on the menu, which were coincidentally the cheapest. $ 2.99 for 3 pieces of chicken and a biscuit? $ 5.99 for five, two sides, and a biscuit? Done and done. Wait, a drink costs an extra $ 2 – 3? I knew there was a catch. The sweet Jamaican lady was nice enough to provide cups of water instead and did a good job of answering questions for the French and Italian tourists standing with us in line. Off we went with our artery clogging eats to a table, shared by a self-anointed prophet(haphazardly spitting lines of world destruction), who was presumably a hobo. Regarding the food, the chicken was surprisingly juicy. The crispy skin was just right from a fresh batch, but the meat was a little scarce. I may have to consider their chicken burgers down the road. The sides unfortunately weren’t as appetizing — the mash was bland, watery concoction and the mac was a sloppy, goupy mess. This is all expected of course, but the chicken wasn’t terrible. Raising Canes( ), if Popeyes, Chik-Fil-A, *and* Church’s can make it here, so can you.

$ 2.99 for 2 thighs, a leg and a biscuit. Plenty of seating and a clean bathroom. It’s the cheapest, fastest meal you’re going to have in the theater district. Dont’ get me wrong. the chicken isn’t gourmet. it’s Churchs. But after paying $ 200+ for show tickets. I don’t have much ammunition left for a Unilocal worthy meal.

I was actually heading to the Shake Shack on 43rd Street for lunch, but the line was ridiculously long and I had to get back to work quicker than that. I passed Church’s Chicken on my walk and I remembered seeing that they got a positive Unilocal review, so I decided to try that. There was only one girl working the counter(plus one cook in the back), but she hustled through the three people in front of me and she got my order packed up in about a minute. $ 7 and change got me a breast and a drumstick, a small biscuit, a container of mashed potatoes and gravy, and a medium fountain Coke. The chicken was juicy and had nice crispy skin, the biscuit had a nice honey taste and a crunchy outer shell, and the mashed potatoes were just your standard instant/pureed potatoes. Good deal, fast service, tasty food. If I get a fried chicken craving at lunch in the future, I’ll be sure to come here.
