Horus Too

I’m from the Middle East so I take my hookah /​argeeleh seriously. Unfortunately, this place was just not up to par on every level. First, and most importantly, the hookah itself tasted dirty like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The «m’assel» or fruit-​flavored-​tobacco, tasted stale and it dried out quickly when smoking, leaving the head burned. The staff, while friendly enough, were not very attentive. All that aside, the biggest complaint I have about this place was that the price was outrageous– especially given the atmosphere and the quality. $ 70 dollars for hookah and two mint teas? No thank you

Was at brunch and decided I wanted to keep drinking so I came across this little spot, its literally a hole in the wall lol. The hookah was great, I had the pineapple base with strawberry and mango flavor. The sangria was delicious but I decided I was too drunk too keep drinking after all so I ordered wings to sober up! The wings were good and savory :) The bill however was about $ 75 for 1 hookah two drinks and wings! It was fun while it lasted lol. The service was great none the less.

Service was great! Hookah was changed several times with out asking. The music was on point and the drinks were good. Small quaint spot, loved it!

Horrible service, same song over and over again. Food sucked and the waitress had a rude face. The only thing hookah coal was changed on point. Thank god. Never coming back here.

Very chill place on a Friday night. Make sure the heater is off during the winter because they will cook you. Great people thou.

–Automatic service charges of 18%. (They had the audacity to claim that this doesn’t count as tip).
–Food is very bland (Felt sick the next morning).
–Food items are priced ok at ~$ 11 for a sandwich + fries, Hookah at $ 35 is i guess the norm in the city, but I mean, $ 7+ for tea is pushing it.
–The service is ok, but you can clearly feel the owner trying to get every penny out of you. It’s just a place to chill, not to be hustled. I really do not recommend this spot.

Decent hookah place– hookah fazed out, drinks were reasonable priced, small space off the beaten path.

Good hookah — Horrible customer service. If i could give ZERO stars, I would.
I got up to go to the restroom, asked a group of 3 employees where the restroom was, one of them said he didn’t speak English, so I said sorry and the other employee pointed to the restroom and the three of them began to laugh at me. Even when I got to the bathroom they were still laughing. After that I saw that same employee speaking to other customers in English. I’m actually Brazilian, so I am bilingual, but I felt disrespected. Absolutely hate when people make fun of me. Since then that same employee keeps looking at me and laughing. Again, terrible customer service. You don’t make a joke and make fun of your customers. Never coming back to this place again.

This place is small and long. You can easily miss it when you are walking unless you look for it. I am a fan of Horus Café in LES and have been going for many years. I have tried this place for couple of times and it’s really just very average in terms of service and hookah quality.
We ordered Hookah with pineapple head with double apple flavor. It came out alright but the charcoal was small and burnt out too easily. The «fire» guy did not know how to line them up and check for quality of vapors while re-​positioning them. I asked for clamps and did it myself. Yes, I am bit of a control freak when it comes to good hookah. If it is not done right then the whole experience of it goes out the window.
I am only going here for the sake of convenience for friends that live in midtown because they don’t want to travel to LES. There are plenty of hookah bars in the city so let’s see where I end up next.

Small place to come for one or two or three drinks because they are perfectly made and not cheap on the alcohol. Hookah here is average but do have plenty of flavors to choose from. overall a nice place for a chill night.

The hookah is pretty good, but the price is way too much for what it is actually worth. The hookah is $ 35 and the service charge was $ 12… Again, too overpriced. And the music was way too loud, and would only be rap playing…

HORRIBLE SERVICE.
didn’t opt for any hookah so I can’t speak on that front. tried their chicken kabob and took over an hour to get the food. as soon as we placed an order in (after 20 min of waiting), I saw the waiter step outside and have a conversation with someone and played with their dog. Is that even sanitary?
We had to ask for water multiple times. My soda was lukewarm and I asked for ice and was never brought any. The prices on the outside do not agree with the check.
I left the place really confused.

First off all, the price written outside is not honored at the restaurant. Decent hookah. Horrible staff. The server with name that sounds like Hashim has no manners. Not even once did he come up to us to check if we need to order anything else. Don’t know who he thinks he is, but unprofessionalism at its best. Never coming back, and advise everyone to stay away. Would rather go few blocks down to Babylon.

The hookah is awesome! Much stronger than the one I had back in my hometown!!! The staff here were so nice and sweet! They changed the charcoal frequently and the drinks were good too!
Order the rose ladies! It is sweet and worths trying. The place is small but it is cozy. I love that and I would definitely come again!

Ivisited Horus too on 17^th of May. I was happy to Hangout in this amazing place .
But at the and of the evening when I asked for the check I was disappointed bc they charged me $ 30 for 2 teapots. When I asked why they charging me $ 30 instead of $ 12. They couldn’t explain and refused to return my money back. The lady was really frustrated, she was acting really strange, even yelling at me.
I felt really bad .
Originally I’m from Europe, I asked her why is acting so weird, I’m not a tourist, I do speak English, even If I have an accent. Bc she was spelling a word teapot .
And one more thing they didn’t wanted to give me my original receipt with full description. Which is not good at all
They didn’t communicated with me. I mentioned the police, I had no choice, she said that’s what I was going to do. Call the police now. That’s what she said exactly .
I have been in states for 3 years, but to be honest I never had this experience before .
Doesn’t really matter how much is the teapot cost. What matter is the way they treating customers. The waiter from the beginning would make fun of us. I asked him where the bath room, he said we don’t have it but you can wait till u go back to Russia. Ridiculous.

Great little hookah spot walking distance from Times Square. Little cramped, but they are accommodating.

Discovered the place last night after the dinner in the neighborhood. Went with zero expectations.
But it turned out great. Really don’t understand all the bad reviews. The hookah was great and lasted all the way till the end, the drinks were nice. Great service and the nicest staff. They even let us chose the songs to play, and offered delicious complementary shots. Highly recommend to anyone.

HORRIBLE SERVICE
We got there around 4:30 July 21^st the place was empty, we went there for the hookah as it was the closest to where we were at the moment. Server came over we asked a few questions, he said happy hour over at 4pm. We explained we are here for the hookah which was odd for him to say. Because we didn’t ask. He answered a few questions he said they have drink and house liquor we are like okay he suggest hookah flavors to try and we get the order in. It’s very hot out all the windows open and no air on we ask if he can maybe turn it on being as it’s so HOG OUT. He does and goes back to the bar there’s no one other than me and my friend unless they had people in the back.
He brings our order it looks nice we take a taste it was so nasty, we signal him and he comes over. We ask to change out order because the drink was just nasty no way to drink it, we ask him «take these 2 back bring hers water and I will have a coke or sprite» he says I already added this to your tab EXCUSE ME we don’t like the taste not drinking it please take it back it’s not a good drink. He then says I will take it back but you still have to pay because it’s on your tab, we didn’t drink it very nasty take it back and bring the new order. He goes I can’t do that it’s on your tab, at this point it’s annoying do we ask for the manager. He goes I’m the manager really, DIDNT YOU JUST SAY YOUR NEW HASSAN OR HENNEY couldn’t remember his name. And he didn’t have a badge on, now he’s like okay I take the drinks back and bring you water and soda.
We got up I asked him to move and we walked out.
THIS WAS SUCH A LET DOWN.
CUSTOMER SERVICE, if you make a drink and the customer not happy try to improve it it give another one. I can understand if they drink half the glass and wants a new one, but they took a sip from the straw and it was nasty.
We ended going to Chevys and enjoyed our evening what was left after finding this establishment that sucks.
I’m not sure if their hookah is any good being that we didn’t get that far. But DONT BUY DRINKS

I was very hesitant when I saw this place on Unilocal because of its horrible ratings. It’s honestly not that bad!
Hookah: I have no complaints about the hookah since they have the good coconut charcoal that’s smooth. Pricing, on the other hand, is above average for their ‘special’ hookah that’s not so special. I would suggest creating your own hookah for just $ 30. A pineapple bowl with melon and mint is a mix that you can’t go wrong with.
Décor: Small, but they created a nice ambience.
Service: We did not order food, but drinks and hookah did not disappoint and were quickly served. Waiters and waitresses here are so extremely friendly and conversational that they will teach you tricks.
Note: Horus Too places an automatic service charge. And you have to order a drink/​person.
