Food was nothing special. Had the Frutti de mare and a veal dish. Both dishes were overpowered by citrus. Was definitely overpriced, waiter and host were nice enough. My table was wobbly and service was slow. Don’t know if i would go back again.

Luna is disturbingly over-priced and I have no idea why. My fiancé and I stopped in the other night and were charged $ 61 for one small pizza, calamari and two glasses of wine. The calamari was good, though certainly not exemplary. But the pizza was a true disappointment. The cheese was obviously processed, yet somehow more fresh than the frozen bits of ham they had topped it with. Honestly, it was the sort of thing a fourth grader might make when cooking for the first time. On top of that, the service was abrupt, as if we were eating at the kind of pizza restaurant where we could have spent $ 30 or $ 40. I can’t think of a single reason to come here over other places in Little Italy. Avoid Luna unless you are starving to death and there are no other options.

Yummy, homemade pizza. We had the margarita & the Hawaiian. The homemade vinaigrette is also killer. Sat by the window & froze.

This place doesn’t even deserve the 1 star. The food is awful, the red sauce is old and packed with sugar to kill the acidity. The margarita pizza is a fake, it’s just reg sauce and mozzarella and they stick you for $ 12. Please do yourself a favor, eat anywhere else in little Italy then here.

If you haven’t been here you are missing out. The food is delicious to say the least. I had the baked Ziti and it is the best I have ever had. I couldn’t finish it but when they boxed it up for me they even added extra sauce! My fiancé had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was mouth watering. Seriously, if you are in the area make sure you stop by. It will change your life!

Avoid. Wanted to like this place, as the welcoming staff seemed friendly and prices reasonable. But the three cheese tortelloni was significantly undercooked and tough, no hint of cheese anywhere — I gave up on it about a third of the way through. Nice enough waiter and staff, but did not check on us or offer to refill drinks, so we sat with empty glasses until we left. Also didn’t particularly appreciate the guitarist/singer walking from table to table explicitly asking each patron for tips between«sets» while we were trying to eat. And then, after trying to make sense of the scribbled, illegible«check» and paying the bill, I did some mental math afterward and realized we’d been charged about 10% more than the sum total of the food and drink we consumed, which I assume is the«service charge» some others on Unilocal have noticed hidden in their bills. At that point I didn’t care — I was just glad to be out of there, and I can accept the extra ten percent as a «poor choice tax» on the bad decision we made when we picked that place.

Luna is as Italian as it gets in Little Italy. Pasta is house-made and fresh, served al dente and with an almost family-like friendly-ness.

Everybody we bring to this place can’t believe how good it is. Formerly Positano across the street, they’ve retained the food and added killer flatbread pizzas. The chicken parm is the thinnest and crispiest you’ll ever taste. The waitstaff hasn’t changed in two decades and they’ll treat any regulars like VIPs.

Tony(what else) was the best waiter on this trip to NY. Good food and a smile you can’t ask for more. Every thing was great hot and we left happy. Go here !

This place was extremely disappointing. We had a party of 3. One of us ordered alfredo which was tasleless. The baked clams as well were not worth the trip. The veal was tough and tasteless. The sangria was like kool aid. To add insult they added a 20 percent graruity on a pary of 3. From the outside it looks like old world charm. Dont believe it!

Can’t wait to go back here. The food was absolutely delicious. It’s a little hole in the wall place right off of canal street in NYC. The homemade sangria was AMAZING and we finished an entire pitcher with just my boyfriend and myself. I got a steamed clam pasta dish with white wine sauce and he got a chicken dish which was really tender and marinated just right. Calamari was delicious and the prices really weren’t bad. It was super reasonable. They also had an accordion player walking around the restaurant playing for the tables and then moving outside to play. Im not sure, but it seemed like this place was family owned by the way they treated their customers. Everyone was so friendly and it just seemed like they really cared about how their customers left.

The Greeter was great and did his job well. The restaurant was nice enough. Overall, the food was good. Our waiter was nice and did a good job taking care of us. The chicken parmesan I ordered was huge and tasty. Nice little place.

Willie, Angelo and Tony from Positano’s now work here. Place is really good and prices are fine. Little Italy isn’t what it use to be and very few places are good anymore. Luna is VEYGOOD!

I visited New York and this was my favorite place to eat out of the whole weekend. Delicious food for a reasonable price. It really fit the Little Italy feel. Good service too.
