Great empanadas and amazing customer service! The chicken empanadas were well seasoned and filling was generous. The cheese and guava empanadas were great as well.

Cheap, delicious, and near my building! The staff is very chill and some of the guys are great eye candy. Order the chicken and cheese empanadas and get some of that pink sauce. Bring cash, and enjoy!

The best empanada I ever had (not that I tried many since there is a dearth of Latin American food in Singapore).
The chicken empanada we were offered was freshly made and was still hot to the touch. That probably made the difference. The shell was crispy and not too floury, the meat was tasty and pretty generous. No miserly portion here. There were many types of hot sauces for you to doctor your food with. Go crazy with it!
The service was great and the staff were friendly. A hidden gem in the Washington Heights area. I would definitely want to go back when I am in NYC again.
It is a smallish place with only a couple of cocktail tables so it may be better to either grab and go or have a quick bite. Street parking is available though good luck in finding an empty spot.

Many times heading to the I-​95 I would see this modern Dominican based restaurant and wondered if the food will be great or just like the many other spots in the neighborhood. When I decided to go there to try it out, BOY did they surprise me! THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE! I’ve ordered Mofonguito and Yaroa so far and it was sensational! The food is FRESH and well displayed.
LA YOLA restaurant in my humble opinion is Superior among all the other Dominican-​based food spot.
Definitely 5 Star rating, even if you have never eaten Dominican-​based food I challenge you to go and give it a try. No matter who you are, I believe you’ll be welcomed as if you’re a part of their family!

Came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend and we have already been back 3 times. Absolutely love the food. 100% recommend the mofonguitos and the yaroas. Meat is VERY fresh, hygiene is at an all time high (Im very specific about that in restaurants). Staff is welcoming and pleasing. Food seasoning is super tasty! Will continue coming back.

I walked by La Yola everyday, and always wanted to try it out. Today I decided I was going to give it a try. I walked in and was greeted when I entered. A young man helped me with the menu (it’s in both English and Spanish, which is great). I ordered Mofonguito de Pollo (it comes in two sizes; I got the small one). It came with 3 of these little mofongos. It’s topped with cheese and some really good sauce. I really enjoyed it! It was so good! There is so much more I’d like to try on their menu! I will definitely bring all my friends/​family here. Not much space to sit, which is fine because this is more like ethnic fast food. And lastly, they are open really late. Great place!

Wow! This place is a gem in Washington Heights! The food is fresh, delicious and affordable. Im very happy that a place like this opened in my neighborhood. I support small businesses and will continue supporting this one.
