I went back to see Ramy four months after he did my first ever balayage. Since I have black hair and was highlighting it for the first time, we went with a more conservative look to see how I like it. Needless to say I loved it and got comfortable with it so much so that I went back again and this time we went lighter. I couldn’t be happier with the results! The color is fun and refreshing, yet still very natural looking. Quality service and attention to detail is consistent with every visit. Can’t recommend this place enough! Stay tuned for more pics!

I went here for the first time today for highlights and a trim and loved it. Ramy listened to exactly what I wanted. My highlights look natural and the cut added a lot of body, while keeping the length. The staff is really nice too! Definitely worth going to.

I came in to get a single process. I’ve been to other salons in the area and was convinced they were all the same. Ramy actually listened to my thoughts on changing the color slightly and recommended a color I couldn’t be happier with.
Because I was so happy with the service and results, I came back for a blow out but wanted to have clip-​in extensions added. They were really long so Ramy cut them and styled to perfection.

I wanted to take advantage of a $ 20 blowdry coupon that I had received in the mail so I gave this place a try! The blowdry was great but ended up costing me $ 42. My 3-​star rating is because of the pricing mishap. Upon checkout the woman told me «We’re not taking coupons today.» Nothing on the coupon stated that it would not be valid today. Then I was told it was going to cost $ 40. When I asked why it was $ 40 and not $ 30 (the blowdry price), I was told it was an extra $ 10 because my stylist used a curling iron. When we talked about her using a curling iron, nobody mentioned to me that it would cost an extra $ 10. If I knew that, I wouldn’t have done it.
So, while my hair looks good, please don’t let yourself be deceived by pricing. What I thought was going to be a nice, affordable blowdry cost me double what I was expecting!

After living in the city for five years and trying many stylists I am thankful to say that my search is over. Ramy is absolutely amazing. I’ve gone to Ramy for color, cut, blow dry, and brazilian treatment and I will never go anywhere else. He’s takes his time and really makes it a point to listen to what it is that you, the client, wants. As far as color goes all I can say is TRUST HIM. I resisted going blonde for a long time and Ramy assured me some light blonde balayage highlights with my dark roots would look amazing and boy was he right! I’ve never been happier. He is a true master when it comes to Balayage. I will be back!

My new go to spot!!! Ramy works wonders! He did a beautiful half head of blonde highlights for me, fixed a bad haircut, a couple of blowouts, and a Brazilian Blowout for me. He really listens to what you want and he really takes his time with you. Every time i leave i feel like a million bucks!

I just want to say that I found in Ramy, the best hairdresser in the world. I come all the way from Panamá in Central America, to NYC to see this guy. My overall experience with him, has been the best. I have been to many hairdressers in many different places, but I decided to stay with him because my hair simply loves him and I love him too. You can’t go wrong with him. This is the most honest review, I could ever write and I wanted to share it with anyone that is in the NYC area and is looking for someone to trust their hair. I’ve had a balayage, brazilian blowout, and haircut with Ramy all in one month. I first had a haircut with him, and he put in such nice layers in my hair I felt at ease to get a balayage and brazilian blowout 2 weeks later.
Ramy is friendly without being overly chatty, serious worker, and for the price he charges, absolutely good work. I highly recommend Ramy!

Ramy is wonderful! I had never dyed my hair before and he made me feel very comfortable. While my color ended up being lighter than I had initially wanted, I really like how it turned out! And Ramy offered for me to come back any time in the next month if I wanted to make a change. This is a great salon and the people who work here really care!

Today was my first time coming in for an appointment with Ramy. While booking the appointment his staff was so courteous and helpful with the booking. Once I got to the salon it was very nice and clean. Ramy is one of the most patient and amazing stylist out there. I did a dramatic change today and he walked me through every step. I got layers and color today and he was so attentive. His assistant was super sweet and cordial. She offered me something to drink and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I have hardly encountered anyone in the beauty industry who likes to make sure you’re doing well and are comfortable the entire time. I couldn’t be happier with the result. Even leaving the salon people were already complimenting my hair.

I came to La Vie on my lunch break because I wanted something new with the dry mess that was my hair. After a consult with Ramy, I decided on getting a balayage. The end result was a very natural blend of color that I got many many compliments on. Ramy made it look very natural and was very heplful throughout the whole process. Nice staff, clean salon.
Note: I ended up coming back for toner to darken my color because it was just too light for me (having never colored my hair before, this was a hue adjustment and I guess I was just not ready). When I came back, Ramy was willing and very helpful in terms of trying to make me happy with the finished result. I can’t say that I will color my hair again because I truly learned ti appreciate my natural locks, but Ramy made the experience as pleasant as possible.

Perfection!!!
Best balayage ever.
I called to make an apt because I found his name on Unilocal.Ramy stayed after hours to do an entire color, haircut and blowout. He made sure everything was perfect until 11:00pm. And the results was nothing but perfection.

I got a Brazilian blowout on my mad long Virgin hair last weekend. Took Ramy 3.5 hours — he was attentive to my hair type, gentle and thorough. Just what I needed! The salon has the ideal ambiance staff is knowledgeable, polite and friendly — specially by NYC standards. I’m a very please customer. Have had more than 5 people compliment my hair, given out all the cards I got! Will be returning.

Today I came back as promised to get a balayage color done as well as a Brazilian blowout with Ramy. I literally have no words at how amazing my hair turned out. I have dark brown hair and this was the first time I have had my hair colored. I was pretty nervous however, I had a specific look in mind and Ramy pulled it off to the T if not better.

I wanted a change and try something different with my hair. i went in with simple long hair and walked out with bangs!
