Wonderful place!!! Staff are so kind and caring, truly compassionate people for these beautiful and adorable cats. The space is well designed and comfortable for both two and four legged creatures. Thank you for creating this space and helping to find these kitties their forever homes! I will definitely recommend to others.

Koneko is the perfect Cat Café experience! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The drinks and snacks were just right and the entire place was sooo clean– you would never know that there were any cats at all! We went on a Monday afternoon and we had the cats all to ourselves. The cat caretaker Jackie is amazing! She is dedicated, sweet, funny and very knowledgeable about the cats. She made our experience at Koneko wonderful and enjoyable. The cars are so well cared for and their space is roomy and fun. We can’t wait to go back!

A ton of cats surrounding you while you have a cup of coffee?! What more could you ask for? I really like the idea of this place because not only do people like me get to play with cats since I cannot have one in my apt, but also they help find good homes for these cats! The only downside is it is a bit pricey to play with cats for an hour, and also basically all the pastries we wanted were not in stock at the time… Other than that I really liked this place!

Cats everywhere!!! I came to Koneko with Vicky A. when it first opened late last year. The front serves as a regular café where you can purchase cakes, pastries, and ice cream, as well as coffee, tea, and even wine and sake. I tried the green tea cheesecake and the chocolate crêpe cake: both were not too sweet, which is just the way I like my desserts. Customers can hang out at the café however long they want, but if you want to play in the cat areas in the back, you will need to make an hour-long appointment for $ 15. The $ 15 is well worth it, though. All of the cats chosen for the café are pretty sociable with each other and with humans. We went at a pretty late hour, so some of the cats decided they needed a nap after a long day of schmoozing and looking pretty for their guests, but the others were willing to play with us. I like that the café keeps the cat area clean by giving you slippers to wear and a tray for your food/drinks. Sadly I only got to explore the back area(I think it’s because the café was still pretty new then and didn’t have any cats downstairs yet), but I will try to come back one day. All of the cats there are adoptable, so if you are in the market for a cat, take a peek in Koneko first!

They have Stumptown coffee and knowledgeable baristas who are pretty cool and considerate. They have cats. Like a lot of cats in the back to pet and stuff and apparently a patio and larger sitting area in the back(not visible) They play some pretty cool music(ranged from Fela Kuti to JMSN to) They have alcohol and chocolate. They have cats. Come here ASAP!

Such a cute place! I ordered the Chai Latte and was in love. So delightful :) My friends and I had also made reservations to play with the cats. It’s $ 15 to make a reservation and you get an hour to play and interact with them. At the time we went, they had just been given food so most of them were really sleepy or just in their own world. I think reservations should be made when the cats are more interactive with us, just a tip! It’s a really quaint and quiet coffee shop(that offers some alcohol) to go to to meet friends or just get a cup of coffee and kindle with cats :)

I was absolutely impressed with my experiences here at Koneko! It is a very spacious café, wine bar area in the front and a cat hang out spot in the back, separated by a glass window. Entrance to the back is reservations only and it is super easy to do it online through their website. As of today, it is $ 15 for an one-hour of playtime. We can order delicious Japanese desserts from Patisserie Tomoko in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and drinks at the front bar to bring them with us. My friend and I shared the green tea and Chocolate-Yuzu crêpe cake which I thought was just the perfect snack while petting our feline friends. Cleanliness is extremely important here at the café. Staff were really thoughtful to put a plastic lid over your dessert. Before entering, you must take off your shoes and wear their slippers and place your outerwear on the hangers. There is a hand sanitizer on the wall for your convenience. Most of our cat friends are in their favorite spot either taking a nap or cleaning themselves. We are allow to pet and rub them but just not allow to pick them up. We can use their toys such as the feather pole or the rat toy. My favorite cat that evening had to be Elijah, he is a dark coated one who loves being rubbed in the belly! He was super cute and already lay down rules that you have to keep rubbing and petting him or he will not like it! With one hand holding my perfect cup of tea and one hand petting my feline friend, I feel so much warmth and love!

This was my first time going to cat café, and I was not disappointed. Despite the expensive cost, it was worth it. I came around noon and surprisingly several of the cats were active. Kittens were playful and most of the cats enjoyed being petted. The cats look well taken care of and the staff members were friendly and approachable. The space is also nice and clean. Furnishing looks sleek and modern which gives it a minimalistic vibe. As someone who is not allergic to my own cat, but allergic to other cats, I did have some allergic reactions but my allergies didn’t act up too much. If you have mild allergies to cats, especially if you get rashes, clean your hands often and avoid touching your face. I did not try the food so I do not have any comments on it. I took off a star for the price, but overall it was a great experience.

Happy to see that cat cafes are slowly making their way into New York. This place has more of a café feel than say, Meow Parlour(which is also a great place too, don’t get me wrong). They serve coffee, desserts, Japanese snacks, and wine. It’s got a minimalist décor with cute photographs of cats. The café part is separate from the areas where the cats roam, for health reasons. The cats have an upstairs, downstairs, and outside area to roam. The cat themselves are mostly very friendly and sociable, some are little shy but that’s typical of cats. They are all adoptable so this is also a great place to check out if you’re looking for get a pet. I went here with a friend for their Movie Night. They’re starting a program on Fridays where they show movies(cat-themed, or with cat characters) so you can chill with the cats and see a movie. Pretty cool concept. For the first night, they played Breakfast at Tiffany’s in the downstairs area. The ticket was $ 30 and that included admission, the movie, popcorn, and a free drink. Considering that regular price for a time slot is $ 15 an hour, this is a really good deal. The setup of the movie night is extremely informal. The downstairs area had a few couches, but mainly cushions and a bench to lounge on. A lot of people just sat on the floor and the movie was streamed from Netflix and played on a projector screen. There were about 10 or 12 cats roaming around the room while they played the movie. It felt like I was watching a movie in a crazy cat lady’s living room. The cats were more rambunctious and preferred to run around instead of sitting down and watching the movie with the humans, but no surprise there, right? Definitely a fun and unique thing to try if you’re looking for something new.

I went to Koneko on a Sunday with two friends and it was such a wonderful experience! I really recommend going around the morning time/noon because you get awesome one-on-one petting time with the cats. The employees were very warm and happy to answer any questions and the coffee was great. I will absolutely be coming back!

Wonderful! A great experience all around. I took my visiting family here since we are cat lovers, have wanted to visit a cat café, but haven’t found the time in our work schedules(or money lol) to visit Tokyo. First off-cats are not going to be like dogs where they are coming to you wanting belly rubs. Hell no. Everything needs to be on their terms, you pretty much coexist with them and chill. That said, there’s so much attention to detail in the design of this place, for feline and human patrons. The cat area is clean and comfy, separate from the food. There are so many things for the cats to do-shelves, tunnels, and walkways for climbing, books and toys, cushy places for them to sleep and accept head rubs, even a tv for them to watch squirrels gone wild. Although all the cats are for adoption, this place is a kitty wonderland where they’re all very happy. I really enjoyed chatting with the CBGB rocker lady(forgot her name, sorry!), she’s super cool and really cares about the cats, explaining all of their nuanced personalities and quirks. Love the no shoes/clean slippers policy-wearing shoes indoors is so nasty anyway. There are fancy cat toys and stuff for sale, and although $ 50 seems like a lot to spend on a cat bed, I can’t knock their hustle, that wool looks extremely comfy, and it’s for a good cause. The café has wine(hell yea, cats and wine, what else do you need?!) but the matcha(not super sugary and sweet-yum!) and cat cappuccino were great too. Friendly café staff, they were nice when they ran out of mochi but offered other options. A relaxing place for cats and humans, and a cool business all around. I wish them all the best and much success! Open one in Brooklyn please!

Highly recommend! This place is beyond awesome! They are so nice and they are seriously awesome for the Cats. I think the concept is great but the way the make it all happen is pretty cool. It was me, my wife and our 4 kids. From ages 2 years old to 16 years old and everyone had so much fun. This was a unique experience that the whole family loved! We drove 2 hours from Philly to experience the Cat Café.

Literally heaven. One hour to play with adorable cats? Who wouldn’t take this offer. The place was so clean and well kept that my cat allergies didn’t act up at all. There’s a café area where anyone can order delicious stumptown coffee and then if you have a reservation you can enter the cattery. They provided us with slippers to make sure the cattery is kept clean. The cats were so friendly and adorable! They mostly were on the second floor and the lower level was pretty boring but all the employees and customers were in a great mood. Definitely wanna come back!

I like the concept. I liked the coffee that I had(it was stumptown drip which is always good). The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the cats. We hung out with the cats and they were friendly and liked to be petted. I like the space that the cats had to play. There was an upstairs, a downstairs, and an outside. You also get to play with the cats with the toys. Very clean and cozy as well. What’s also nice is that they allow you to adopt cats right there and it seems like they care about cats a whole lot. Only downside is that I think I’m allergic to one of the cats but otherwise it was a fun time. Meow!

This was my second time visiting a cat café in the city and boy was I impressed! They just opened up roughly a week ago but if they didn’t tell me this, I wouldn’t think they were new all! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. In particular, the two female workers that were with the cats were very approachable and you can tell that they care a lot for the cats! The area for the cats is actually two floors. As you head downstairs, you come across this large mural full of… well cats! At first, the cats were just running around or napping but eventually, they wanted some attention. If there’s a cat that you fell for, you can also fill up an adoption application. There’s also a bar/sweets area where you grab some beer, wine or cheesecake.(Or all three!) Do yourself a favor and visit them as soon as possible~

I had such an awesome time at Koneko. I’ve visited cat cafes in Tokyo before so it’s great that they opened one in NYC! If you love stumptown coffee and cute cats, this is the place to be. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff and spacious playing rooms with the cats(including a Catio /patio!) What makes Koneko so great is that you can adopt the cats. Highly recommend for anyone who wants some cat lovin’!

Koneko is a cat café. The front part is a typical café serving some snacks and drinks.(The wines were quite tasty, but we didn’t eat there.) The special part is in back and downstairs. You can bring your drinks back to commune with the cats. They’re all adoptable, and most were pulled from the NYC Shelter’s «at risk» list by Anjellicle Cats Rescue. The people at Koneko were very friendly and happy to give advice on the felines. It’s a great idea to help boost adoptions, and we found it quite fun to enjoy a wine and pet a few cats. BTW, I’m allergic to cats, and Koneko was so clean I had no difficulties being in the back room with five or six cats. Tip: Make reservations, since the place isn’t too large and they limit the number of people who can be with the cats at any time. Visit .
