Sometimes we loose a true love. The heart will heal. Loose a great brunch spot and nothing is ever the same… In the days of yore, this was my absolute favorite brunch spot in NYC. Shockingly great food with unlimited boozy brunch seemed too good to be true. Great waitstaff and funky décor. Perfect for groups and I would bring any friend here when they’d visit. And I find myself coming back every so often on Unilocal to see if it has reopened, alas I am disappointed… I will remember you… Don’t let life pass you by… Weep not for the memories.

Cute place right next to the famous Rockwood Music Hall. This is not a full review since I’ve only had a Lagunitas IPA and pickled vegetables. But it is rustic and cool place to hang. The bartenders are friendly and accommodating. That’s all I have to say.

This place is perfect for brunch! Amazing pancakes and lobster benedict. I will definitely be coming back once it reopens. They say Clinton street has the best pancakes? WRONG. This place is much better! I would say the best pancakes are in Chicago. but hey we re in NYC. Plenty of good food to go around. The waitress we had was a bit confused with our order so the service was a bit subpar but overall this place is worth a visit!

It’s a huge, beautiful place, but Preserve24 just didn’t do it for me. I came here on the tail end of brunch on a Sunday at 4pm. I had been dying to try this place for such a long time. Me and my friend started with the Malpeque oysters. I had asked for a briny oyster and these were alright, one of the tamer tasting oysters I’ve had. Certainly not bad but not great. I really wasn’t a fan of the sangria; the wine had sort of a «churchy» flavor. We both ordered the lobster Benedict and split a side of mushrooms. Skip the mushrooms, they had a very weird taste that both of us were at a loss to describe and we left them abandoned on the table after a few bites. The eggs were just… so underwhelming for the description. For one thing, I’m just not a fan of the cheddar biscuit in place of an English muffin– call me a traditionalist. I just like how thin an English muffin is, because it soaks up all that delicious yolk. That biscuit never stood a chance and remained thick and starchy. It was fine for a biscuit, just not a good foundation for eggs benny. It didn’t help that my eggs were slightly overcooked, so there was even less liquid to sop up. The lobster was nice but they pretty much just toss a bunch of lobster in-between the eggs. It’s not seasoned, there’s no light sauce or butter over them, and there’s definitely not enough yolk to coat them. It just felt like I got a side of lobster, very odd.

Preserve24 is a really interestingly designed and hip LES restaurant. There are two floors and a decent sized bar. A winding metal staircase and dimmed lights make the ambiance very cozy and fun. Great Happy Hour specials and food — I would recommend this place for a quick bite, couple of drinks, oyster craving or decadent dinner. Side-note: also saw people downstairs(where the bathrooms are) playing trivia. My friend and I came here for $ 1 Happy Hour Oysters and wound up staying for dinner(tender meat & lots of cocktails) which was incredibly delicious and the waitress provided great, friendly service. The Sea Witch cocktail is so magical(i’m a sucker for mixed drinks with jalapenos) that my friend who doesnt even like spicy or strong cocktails wound up ordering it too. At the expense of making myself sound like an alcoholic — im obsessed with this drink and had 4 or 5 that night. It was really tasty, full of flavor and has a cool name. It was also a great compliment to the oysters appetizer. Onto the meat: Short Ribs and Steak Frise. I HIGHLY suggest either. The Short Ribs slid right off the bone, they were perfectly cooked and marinated with a fantastic sweet marmalade. The ribs were served with a polenta that was great to dip the meat into. Steak Frise came with fries and arugula salad and was enough food for two people(well maybe we just ate too many oysters). The steak was perfectly crunchy on the outside yet still bloody and tender inside. All in all, the chef did a great job on our meal. They have a brunch menu that is very popular and i cant wait to check it out! I will definitely be back soon.

Came for their oyster happy hour that will run you 1 dollar an oyster. This only applies at the bar area up or downstairs. Oyster didn’t seem like they were kept at a cold enough temperature and they had some type of weird taste to it. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it is, even my girl noticed it. Maybe it was an off batch? Truffle fries were tasty! Never got into the whole«truffle» craze till these fries. A great pick when matching it with a beer or 3. I’ll be back and hopefully get to try a redeeming dozen.

Preserve24, the entrance is not actually on Houston but it’s actually on Allen Street right next to that hallway sized diner. Let me start off by saying that this place is tremendous, they have an incredible amount of space and their basement is pretty awesome. I came here for brunch after my training run and couldn’t have been more thankful to be eating a nice hearty and delicious meal. Upon entering the restaurant it’s certainly got some run down charm. The wood floors are old, unstained, the bar utilizes a beat up old boat, and well everything looks«rustic». Downstairs they have a very nice bar setup and a very open kitchen including a wood burning oven(awesome). I ordered the LES egg sandwich which was a runny egg and fried oyster sandwich and I was able to sub in their truffle fries rather than their regular fries(+$ 3). I would say putting truffles on food is always a good thing and those fries don’t disappoint in the least. The egg sandwich was great and the oyster was fried perfectly. The only downside was the cheap sesame bun they used to make the sandwich, it would have been nice to get a good brioche instead but overall a minor complaint. The waitress was attentive and the back of the house was quick in getting out the food considering how many people were having brunch here. Looking into their kitchen everything appeared to be well organized, clean, and their line cooks had this ish together.

Meh. It wasn’t bad it wasn’t great, it was fine. Space is huge with two levels. Basement is super dark and not ideal for brunch. Food is really heavy and I didn’t feel great after eating it. Service was mediocre. The waitress stopped by only twice at a our table — once to take our order and once to bring us our check. I think this place would be better suited for a late dinner or a big group having a party.

Had brunch here this afternoon with my girlfriend! I would have preferred to have had an outdoor brunch on this beautiful day but we figured everyone else had the same idea and this spot had been on my list for awhile anyway. We got there about 11ish. The restaurant had just opened so it was just us and two other parties. We split the lobster benedict, banana walnut chocolate chip pancakes and the truffle fries. The lobster benedict was okay. The eggs were perfectly poached over a delicious cheesy, buttery biscuit. There was a ton of lobster, too. I didn’t like the consistency of their hollondaise though — it was a bit too runny and flavorless. The banana walnut chocolate chip pancakes were just okay, too. They weren’t fluffy but instead, thinner and tougher. The flavors were there but I don’t know — I was comparing them to Clinton St and there’s no contest! The truffle fries were excellent! So crispy. Seasoned well and with a distinct truffle flavor. Despite being only one of three parties in the restaurant, I had to flag my waitress down several times. Boo. This place is definitely more expensive than many other brunch spots that I frequent. and just medicore at that. The bill after tax and tip came out to $ 51(no drinks this time). May come back to check out their happy hour sometime but don’t know if I’ll be returning for brunch!

I really loved the atmosphere of the place. It felt very open yet secretive, happy yet serious. The food was also pretty good. We came here for brunch on Saturday. Our server(I think her name was Lisa) was very friendly and competent. Starting off, we got the oyster shooters which I absolutely recommend. The bottomless mimosas(of course, for brunch). They also had bottomless sangria but I’m not a sangria person. For food, I got the LES sandwich. It was more of a burger than a sandwich which I was completely fine with. It had fried oysters, a runny egg, and bacon.(There were other things I think, but really, those were the ingredients that sold me). The fries were just alright. Nothing special about them. Portions were medium to big. Overall, pretty good atmosphere, food, and service. Get the oyster shooters.

After discovering their $ 1 oysters happy hour deal, we decided to check out Preserve24 on a Thursday evening. This is perhaps one of the most impressive and unique looking bars you’ll ever see, quirky characteristics symbolic of worldly exploration create an intriguing, warm and very attractive ambiance. The atmosphere alone is a reason to check this LES treasure. A happy hour special of $ 1 oysters, $ 3 draft beers, $ 6 wine, Tuesday through Friday, 5PM-8PM is indeed enticing. Had I known this sooner, I’d probably have been here many times already. For that night, it was pleasantly quiet with a minimal number of customers flowing in. We stayed primarily at the bar, but there is a main dining area adjacent to the bar room. The happy hour $ 3 draft for the night was an Empire brew, a bit hoppy for my liking, though the pricing is a steal. We ordered two dozen sets of chef’s choice oysters, Truffle Frites, and Dry aged beef sliders(3 per order). I will note that the first batch of oysters were well-sized, meatier. The second set seemed a bit inconsistent, less sufficient sized to the first. Otherwise, the oysters were clean and fresh. Sliders were average, not too notable. The truffle fries were very well-seasoned, although I didn’t note too much of the truffle flavor. As a whole, the bar food was generally good, and the $ 1 oysters is a steal. Preserve24 is a great LES happy hour spot as it retains a pleasant, low-key atmosphere. The décor and atmosphere alone is wonderful, charming and original, and it was a reason we ended up staying past happy hour. As the night went on, the crowd never intensified, so I can suggest that this is a great venue to retain conversation. I definitely plan for a future return.

Came here for the HH $ 1 oysters(lasts until 8PM!) — only at the bar though. Everyone here is super nice and accommodating. I had a reservation here on a Wed night and my party was running late. They let us hang at the bar and held our reservation until everyone arrived. The lobster squid ink pasta is so good. I only had a sample from my friend’s dish, but def need to come back and eat an entire plate of it! I had the duck confit with brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts tasted caramelized — almost candied. The duck was very tender and juicy. The truffle fries were also amazing. I definitely need to come back and get brunch!

Happy Hour Special includes $ 1 Oysters. We sat at the bar and grabbed a few beers, and a few dozen oysters.. and then ordered the amazing truffle fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. We continued to order the Meatball which was too salty for my taste. The Gnocchi was amazing and rich in cream sauce. I would definitely recommend that if you love pasta dishes. And if that wasnt enough, we ordered the nachos with sausage, the chips are actually fried wonton skins and this definitely put us over the top. The most notable thing about Preserve24 is the service. We sat at the bar and the service was fast and friendly. We played QuizUp on our phone with the bartender, he made sure we got our drinks and food right away. Everything was executed perfectly and staff is super nice. Would definitely come back!

love the décor. feels kinda rustic/steampunk ish with all the metals and industrial knickknacks. we came for brunch but would love to see this place at night. downstairs has an open kitchen and booths. there’s a boat underneath the bar on the 2nd floor. food was solid. i had 2 bloody marys. they make it the way i like it. strong with a spicy kick. their garnish is lacking but at least the drink is good. had their fire roasted oysters(it was made like escargot. i think i’d rather have it raw, but this was good. anything drenched in garlic and butter is good), truffle fries were delicious but we ordered too much food and couldn’t finish. for main, we had the lobster benedict and chorizo hash. lobster benedict was delicious. their biscuit is heavy but good. chorizo hash was pretty substantial. large portion. i wish their chorizo wasn’t broken up in to little pieces so there’s more of a sausage bite to it, but the flavors were there. overall, a great brunch spot and you don’t have to wait for 2 hours

Preserve 24 looked like a fun whimsical choice for a birthday brunch dinner for 7 people. This restaurant was an interior decorator gone wild dreams showcase. Jackpot! The faux rusticated floors, faux paneled wood walls and antique Lamps. All in the quasi nautical, Antarctica explorer theme. The illusion is all surface. No that fake water tank over the toilet is only for show. In the end you still have to flush with the side handle. We had a reservation for 1pm. 12:50pm: Checking in the host said our table was ready but since we were missing one person out of 7 they wouldn’t seat the group. 1:05pm: Last person arrived and now the table was ‘almost’ ready. 1:15pm: Table was getting ready. 1:20pm: The table just paid and they had to wait for it. What? 1:30pm: The table was ready. Service: Would the table and food make up for the seemingly disorganized front of house? Seated in a niche table with plenty of space was pretty nice. Our waiter was friendly and did a decent job of orders with the busy Brunch service. The food came out fairly expeditious after the drinks, coffee and drinks arrived at the table. Food: Lobster Eggs Benedict. Rum French toast with fresh fruit. Chorizo hash and eggs. Steak & Eggs. The Eggs Benedict with lobster on the side all topped on a biscuit was hearty compared to its counterpart. The eggs were slightly over cooked but still good. Rum French toast was a bit on the dry side but drowning it in maple syrup does the job. Chorizo hash was actually very good. Nice spice form the sausage. Steak & Eggs was well what it was. Meat was cooked as ordered. Verdict: The over-the-top interior tries a bit too hard. The interior decorator should have been edited down. The front line on a busy Sunday brunch was a bit disheveled. Service was decent and attentive. Food was overall good for the value. The birthday boy enjoyed his meal and birthday brunch and that was all it mattered.

Preserve24 is a cool, hip bar in the LES. It’s right on Allen St., directly across the street from the F train. The ambiance in the bar is alot of distressed wood and dim lighting. There’s a large model of a ship on the mantle behind the upstairs bar. So warm, cozy, and intimate. The bar area is perfect to catch up with a special someone, even with a small group of friends. One night I saw an older mother and daughter having whiskey together, the best way to bond. The bar area is not quiet and not loud enough so you can carry a good conversation without shouting. This is not the type of place you’ll find patrons doing tequila shots, body shots, or shots off someone(perhaps the hot bartender) either. There is a great happy hour special on Tuesday to Friday from 4PM to 8PM where there’s dollar oysters, $ 3 draft beers, plus $ 6 wine and well drinks. My guest and I ordered 2 dozen oysters. Mixed quality on the oysters. The first round was nice and big. The second go there were some puny ones. Can’t really complain with the price tag. Overall, they tasted good and fresh. The beer special is great, it’s Empire IPA that is nice and hoppy, regularly it’s $ 8 so that’s a nice discount. We ordered some more bar food like the truffle fries($ 6) and the kobe beef sliders(3 for $ 12, add’l for $ 4). All of this made for a nice light dinner with drinks. Definitely will be returning to check out brunch and the rest of the menu.

Preserve24 is a beautiful new gem in the LES that will soon be written up in a Thrillist article about the best places to brunch in NYC. It not only boasts a beautiful industrial rustic interior, but the food is delicious as well. Unlike other NYC restaurants the space is huge and offers room for diners in small or large parties. It’s also pretty nice that you don’t have to listen to other parties conversations while you are eating brunch(New Yorkers know what I am talking about). I would love to describe all the details that are found in the interior as it is truly a thoughtful and beautiful restaurant. When you first enter into the restaurant’s side entrance on Allen Street there is a wall of farm tools arranged on the walls. The bar areas are made up of a salvaged pianos which is such a beautiful repurposing of an object. A salvaged boat is also used as a table in the restaurant, in addition to old doors used as a wallpaper. We were seated promptly around 1pm on a Sunday. Our waiter was constantly filling up our water glasses and our food was ordered and delivered to our table quickly. Food wise, I shared the apple pancakes and the Lobster Benedict. The Lobster Benedict was out of this world. I would even dare to say it was the best breakfast dish I have had in some time. The dish was very rich but was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend to share the dish with a friend. The apple pancakes were nothing spectacular and I would not order these again. The 3-stacked pancakes were too heavy, dry, and lacked flavor. The apple sauce on top was delicious but I feel like the apple mixture would have tasted much better if it were cooked inside the pancakes. The carmel surrounding the pancakes subtracted from the dishes flavor. I would not order these pancakes again. If you are going for a boozy brunch they have a great option of $ 15 for all you can drink sangria. If not you can just order sangria by the glass. I definitely will be back here but I will just stay away from the pancakes.

It was the weekend and I had a rough night. By midday I was starving and Unilocaled what was around me in LES. We threw on some clothes and got in a cab and headed over to Preserve24. It was brunch time, it was exactly what I wanted in my belly, and I was hoping that it would also make me feel better and not hate my life at that particular moment. When we arrived, I was pretty impressed with the size of the place. It’s pretty big. Plenty of casual diners were around brunching. We asked for water pronto and I decided on ordering the lobster benny. Let me tell ya, this cured my hangover right up. It was delicious. I gotta say it was the first and best lobster benny I’ve ever had. There aren’t too many brunch items to choose from but hopefully you’ll find something to your liking. Service was very friendly and after we got the bill, we headed out got in a cab and headed back to bed. Two thumbs up for delicious brunch and curing hangovers!

Happy Hour review only. Simply based on concept and its execution, Preserve24 is perhaps the most stunning restaurant I’ve visited this year. Themed after some sort of arctic exploration, it features shelves with binoculars, goggles, globes, and lanterns; a bar cut out of a half wooden boat; fans made from paddles; tap handles made from piano pedals; various ice cutting tools decorating the walls of reclaimed wooden. It manages seamlessly to be a restaurant, a café’, the Explorers Club, an art installation, and a retro-futuristic movie set[1]. The two floors are bisected by a gigantic metal cage built to host not go-go dancers but a massive 4000lb bloc of ice coming from Greenland thanks to an expedition planned for 2014[2]. Unfortunately my HH experience(Mon-Fri 5pm-8pm) was a bit of a letdown. The offering of $ 3 Narragansett, $ 6 wine, and $ 1 Bluepoint oysters is not going to impress anyone, particularly for a place with such ambitious plans. For cocktails, the Compass Rose(Bourbon, Pisco, Chartreuse, Bitters, P24 Strawberry-Rhubarb Preserve; $ 13) sounded better than what it was: the crushed ice ended up watering down this interesting concoction, which would have been better served with a large ice cube. You know, sorta like the one the one they plan to have next year in the restaurant. Food certainly looked delicious, but for a HH that is more substance and less fluff there are certainly better options around. — — — — – [1] Delicatessen comes to mind: [2] The energy to keep the ice berg frozen solid will come from solar panels.

Love, love, love this place. The décor is unique and I was feeling it. All wood reclaimed, definitely got a good sense of the theme… Liked the boat seafood bar upstairs and was awed by how cool the bar downstairs looked. We had very good service. The hub worked with one of the lichen staff and gave us a croissant with yummy preserve on the house. This place says its also a bakery and the baked goods are phenomenal… From the biscuits used in the entrees to the delicious croissant. It was all good. I ordered the LES burger and thought the oysters had good seasoning in the batter and a nice crunch. I tasted cumin and it really enhanced the flavor… Fried oysters, fried egg, bacon… They got this burger right. The fries were great. Tasted like boardwalk fries and couldn’t help but killing it. The hub got the lobster benedict. That dish worked. Presentation was great, packed the all the flavors you expect, egg yolks perfectly leaked, and yes, the cheddar biscuits were off the hook. Really loved both our meals. We ordered chorizo as a side and it was a little dry but really flavorful. Overall, a wonderful experience here. They are definitely serving up inventive, mouth-watering dishes and is a chill spot for brunch. I highly recommend!
