Wow. Delicious and outstanding service. I ordered delivery. They forgot to bring two drinks with the delivery. As I was calling them back I inhaled the kobeyaki burger. It was so incredibly good. Burgers don’t survive delivery well in general but this burger was perfect. Great brioche bun — not sopping wet. burger hot, crunchy, tasty. so good. They dropped off our sodas on a quick second trip and included a green tea ice cream sandwich to make up the delay. above and beyond. I will order from them every day now. Thanks.

This place feels fast casual with its clean and brightly lit space, plastic-y seating and big menus for those with bad eyesight. My friend ordered a sushi roll while another ordered chicken over udon. I guess this is the fast casual version of sushi where the rice was too sticky, the roll was enormous and covered with some neon colored sauce.(More on the rice which is what makes sushi ‘sushi’ — it was hard to tell where the sushi was cut because the rice clung so tightly together. Plus there wasn’t that vinegar taste unique to true sushi rice.) As for the chicken + udon, it tastes like the teriyaki chicken you can get at a mall. You know what I’m talking about — that Chinese place in the food court where there’s always a guy handing out free samples in a toothpick. I ordered the pork bun which is stuffed full of sliced vegetables and has slivers of crispy pork. I liked it for what it was — a super Americanized version of a pork dumpling. If you’re in the area, hungry, and only have $ 10 on you, then this is a decent place to go for a quick meal. Hmm I did see an Uno’s across the street so I’d probably go there the next time I’m in the area. Yayyyy deep dish pizza!

Joseph D. put it well — Chipotle meets Japanese, except I’m tired of chipotle over the years, & I’m craving kobeyaki now. I live in the area & have been looking for an option that meets my priorities like Dig Inn & Glaze Teriyaki did when I lived near them — about $ 10 filling meals, healthy & fast. Kobeyaki is the only place near where I live that meets that flawlessly thus far. I’m a fan of salad bowls. So far, I’ve had the Teriyaki Chicken salad bowl, the kobeyaki burger, & the tuna tataki salad. All very delicious. Because I don’t get full as quickly as others, I’ll be sticking with the bowls. They also have individually packaged wasabi… so clutch.

Okay. First off, if you’re on a diet? Don’t come here. Just. Don’t. Seriously. You will get enough good food to make you feel like you’re going to explode. It is THATGOOD. I mean I was going to explode because all I ate was the soft shell crab bun and sweet potato fries and I flipped out. Try the sauces. All. Of. The. Sauces. I’ve never seen a more simpler store with simple options that pack such big flavor. You can literally toss in ingredients with your eyes closed and it will taste amazing. However, for the price? They really do know what they’re doing. Don’t be surprised to spent almost $ 20 on a single lunch and then being full all day and night. It’s great absolutely great. Come here, they are so amazing. Plus, their bathroom is great and it’s always clean and smells amazing. Seriously you might as well applaud them for that, it’s great. Only negative? A place like this should really stick to what it knows and having cinnamon buns with cream cheese frosting doesn’t really count as Japanese. But okay letting it slide for filling us up.

I was looking for a casual, healthy dinner post work out and Kobeyaki fit the bill perfectly. We ordered miso soup and a California roll at the counter and were given a buzzer to alert us when our food was ready. The California roll was fresh, filling, and tasty. I will definitely be back to try some of their other options like bowls and salads that looked quite good.

I’ve been living on the UES for over 2 years now and walk by this place everyday on the way to the subway, but only just tried it for the first time. I’ve been missing out! I stopped by on a whim as I love Japanese/Japanese inspired food, but sushi can get pricey and I needed something fast. They have a few options of burgers, bowls and sushi, so I went with the teriyaki beef bowl. It was larger than expected for a «fast food» place, but with tons of meat and veggies. Definitely stop by if you want a quick bite, but something that’s better quality and tastier than your typical fast food places!

I like to think of this place as the Japanese chipotle — with food that’s like 9288282828 times better. Very fresh and flavorful with awesome customer service. The burgers and sushi are great but the bowls are my favorite. Believe it or not, from shrimp, chicken and veggie, my favorite is definitely the vegetarian bowl. The seared tofu on top is extremely good and I can’t wait to try more things from there. Make sure you try the vegetarian bowl, sweet potato fries and the SAUCES! The sauces are soo different and original!

i literally eat here two-three times per week and order the same thing, the grilled beef bowl. it’s become a joke with my roommate how much i love it. for $ 10.75 you get a good amount of food and it’s consistently yummy. outside of bowls, they have sushi rolls, burgers, salads and soups(all asian inspired) and popular. it’s really catching on in the hood. think of it as a loose japanese-influenced chipotle without the lines and extra charge for wasabi mayo.

I came here for the burgers. A burger I got. Teriyaki Chicken Burger? Y E S. The burger size reminded me of Bareburger but the taste reminded me of Umami Burger. It wasn’t a bad burger but it also wasn’t remarkable. The turkey patty was good but I’m not a fan of daikon sprouts at all. The buns especially looked store bought. What was quite tasty? The sauces. The Spicy Mayo was well balanced in spiciness. The Wasabi Mayo was delicious. Perfect amount of wasabi paste. The Teriyaki Ketchup which was originally included in my burger could have been better. But with the self serve sauce station, I helped myself plenty. Would I come back for a burger? No. Would I come back to try their other items? Yes. FAN.

I only bookmarked this restaurant because I wanted to remind myself to rate it poorly. There are obviously certain expectations when eating at a fast food join, but, when you’re dealing with ramen in soup that is barely cooked to food that’s so undeniably un-seasoned that I have to pour heaps of hot sauce into it to make it tolerable, is a slight problem for me. It’s worrisome that this is a chain, as well. Maybe it was this location’s off day? Who knows.

I dined at this place twice already and both times it was delicious. This place is more of a fast food type of restaurant but still contains amazing flavor! With a group of friends we ordered: 1 spider roll, 1 shrimp tempura roll, udon noodles, beef bowl, chicken bowl, and sweet potato fries(yes we kind of went overboard). The sushi was amazingly good and quite filling for sushi since they were really big and packed full with flavor. Try it with the unlimited spicy mayo sauce and it was practically heaven. I did prefer the shrimp tempura roll over the spider roll just cause the spider roll was just a mix of so many flavors I wasn’t sure what I was eating lol(still good nonetheless) The noodles and rice bowls were really filling too and also tasted really good. My friends could hardly finish them at the end that they had to take it home. The sweet potato fries were also good but didn’t really taste like sweet potato, more just like fries. Overall, this place is good to eat at and although it’s a small place, it is never too crowded. Some things may have been pricey but most were reasonably priced for the taste. I would definitely return.

The food was amazing! They have a great variety and the food is tasty and very very well priced. I got a shrimp bowl and it was enough to feed me and my husband. He got a chicken bowl w brown rice. We both had to take the rest howl Bc the serving was a great size! Now I have something to snack on at home

Maybe because it was a Friday afternoon, but the interior of the place was very spacious but quiet. It was very zen and relaxing. This was my first time there and I went with my friend. He ordered the chicken rice bowl. I got the spicy tuna rolls. The spicy tuna rolls were great! Especially when I used their fancy soy sauce and Sriracha. I’ve been looking for a place for relatively priced sushi and this place works because it’s near my job.

Yum! I wouldn’t call this Japanese food at all — it’s more American food with Japanese-inspired flavors. This location is right down the street from me, and I’d seen it a few times on my way in or out, so I decided to drop by today. They have an interesting combination of offerings — burgers, sandwiches(more like non-beef burgers), sushi rolls, fries, and inexplicably, miso soup. I went with the braised pork bun, but the kobe beef burger was a close second choice. One thing that is important to note is that they have self-serve spicy mayo. I repeat: SELF-SERVESPICYMAYO. This was super exciting and worth the price of admission. I took some in a to-go container. I tried the wasabi mayo as well(not for the faint of heart, and a little too strong for me — I don’t usually like regular wasabi). Despite that I took the food to-go and didn’t eat it until an hour or two after ordering, it was still delicious — the«bun» items on the menu are actually really more like burgers in terms of size. Perfect serving size, plenty of meat, and the slaw was great. Even better with some spicy mayo on top. Pretty sure this will become a regular stop for me whenever I’m in the mood for takeout, since they’re so close to my place!

Nothing but good things to say about this place. Food is flavorful and the pricing is very reasonable. Compared to how much you’d pay at other nearby counter like joints, for the quality of the food, the price is pretty good. Ordered: Shrimp bowl with rice Beef bowl with udon noodles Bowls are a good size(think chipotle bowl). Meat to veggie ratio is excellent. Sauce is savory and isn’t too sweet. Veggies are on point, because you get more than some soggy cabbage or sub par offerings. There’s a good mix of crisp carrots, onions and squashes. Will be back again soon. Can’t wait to try some of the buns and burgers!

This place is a solid chain. I’m not smitten though. The best options are the burgers and bowls. The ramen was similar to what I’ve seen at fast food joints in Asia, i.e. acceptable. The sweet potato fries are addicting alone but with unlimited access to spicy mayo they are crack.

The chicken burger was tasty. The price is alright at $ 8.27, could be a dollar or two less. Listed as all natural which is cool. It looks big but has a lot of ruffage(cabbage, etc). I’d get it again but would prefer a combo option with the fries. Total $ 12.50 The fries were crunchy, tempura sweet potato fries. Little bit salty, good size order. Not sure I’d run back but appreciate the option in the area. My favorite chicken burger was from Tebaya(RIP). Small tasty and deliciously priced at around $ 5.
