Dark, with good music on the stereo, friendly bartenders, and Magners on draught, right in the throbbing heart of 14th Street. S’alright. Short and honest assessment of this establishment.

I ended up here with friends who were meeting up with other friends. I liked the music they were playing, good mix of 90s and 00s songs that were frequently played at college frat parties back in the day. The bar area is super dark, so it was difficult to see what was on tap, so I ended up with Blue Moon. Long line for the bathroom, so gave up on that.

I was invited here by a friend who was hosting a debate-watching party last night and came away pleasantly surprised. It has a very cool, accommodating owner, friendly bartenders, and what I found to be a generally fun atmosphere. It has a decent jukebox-nothing spectacular in terms of a playlist, but still good-as well as an arcade game where you get to shoot imaginary wildlife in semi-rural, rust belt states. There’s also a nice enclosure outside of the bar which is great for smokers-if I smoked I’m sure I would have appreciated it more. However, the chief attraction is probably their great deals on drinks, especially during happy hour. The one reservation I have about this bar is the fact that there didn’t seem to be any wastebaskets, even in the men’s bathroom. I’m not sure if that’s routine or if it was just an anomaly on the night I visited. Nevertheless, I still highly recommend the King’s Head.

— overall rating: 3.5 — personable staff — reasonable drink prices for the area — they have a juke but sometimes prefer to just pop on the ipod

A Narrow Tavern with Reasonable Prices. No real draw to plan a visit.
