I ordered delivery and had very high hopes with the great reviews. The food came fast, but it was the worst pad Thai I have had in this city. Half of the noodles were stuck together that I couldn’t even eat it. It was dry, seemed like it had no sauce, and had no flavor. Why is there no good pad Thai in Soho/West Village?!

We came during an off time and had top-notch personalized service. As to be expected since we were the only people in the restaurant. It had a nice atmosphere. Prices were reasonable and the food was really delicious! I had the pad thai which was great.

We got take out here and we’re jazzed at the 15% off deal! Kuddos on the many vegetarian options and the professional and kind service. We thought both the basil chicken and the vegetable noodle dish needed a little more flavor. Not a big fan of the vegetable dumplings either as they seemed cold and unimpressive. The basil chicken had an extraordinary amount of vegetables — a huge plus — but I was expecting more basil and perhaps a little spice. We ended up adding a lot more sauce to the veggie noodle dish to give it a kick. I still think this place is a great addition to the neighborhood and hopefully will continue to get good service.

The $ 15 for $ 30 voucher they sell here on Unilocal doesn’t state«for dine-in only» anywhere in the terms and conditions. I bought it specifically to try them for delivery and they refused to honor the voucher, then forced me to complain to Unilocal to get a refund. Poor customer service.

I work in the east village and we received a menu in the mail. I decided to try ordering a sweet and sour chicken lunch special with a vegetarian chicken substitute. When I received it within 20 minutes, I was excited. Once I tried it, it was amazing! Vegetarian chicken was fried and tasted just like chicken. Great texture and taste! The sweet and sour sauce was good too, although I always use the sauces just for dipping. My coworker ordered a sesame chicken lunch special and he liked it, too. The miso soups we had was perfect, too. Not too salty and flavorful with enoki mushrooms added in. I will definitely be ordering lunch from here more often and will try their other dishes maybe for dinner. Great vegetarian options!

Used the $ 15 for $ 30 coupon that I bought on Unilocal.Chose 2 lunch specials, rock shrimp appetizer and fried cheesecake. The rock shrimp needed to be more crispy; the sauce was also a little too sweet. The cheesecake tempura also could be crispier.

Nice little veg-friendly neighborhood spot with good prices(especially with some of their specials currently running for their grand opening – lunch for two came in under $ 20). SETTING: The dining room is clean and cute, nice and dark enough for a New York dinner. The restaurant itself is tucked away on 6th St, just east of Ave A, not exactly prime real estate for getting a lot of spontaneous walk-by traffic, but I really hope this place survives. SERVICE: We came in during lunch on a snowy President’s Day, and ended up being the only party in there. Our server was very nice, got us hot tea right away, and the food was out pretty quickly. FOOD: Pretty much all(at least by American standard) Chinese/Asian fusion cuisine dishes covered – fried rice, noodles, soups, etc. Personally, the highlight for me was that they have substitute meat that they can pretty much put into all of their dishes to make them vegetarian, in addition to a vegetarian panel on the menu. I ordered the General Tso’s off the lunch menu, and asked for the veggie chicken subbed in, which they happily did. Everything on the plate was fresh, just the right amount of spicy and hit the spot.

Great deal we’d expect of a cheaper Chinese take-out spot but for dine-in at a clean and calm nicely designed restaurant with great service.

Had the Sesame Vegetarian Chicken– another delicious meal. This is truly one of the best Asian eateries I’ve been too where I have enjoyed everything on my plate(and my boyfriends), each and every time. The vegetarian chicken is so good that you can’t even tell it’s not real meat. Best ever, this place is fantastic. Wish they had a better location though to ensure that they are seen and remain in business.

Super, super fast delivery and great fresh food. We ordered a bunch of meals and the rock shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was super spicy for me but my friends loved it! WE had the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Coconut rice, and Singapore curry noodles. Each dish was flavorful in its own way and went well with our white wine we paired it with at home. We will definitely be ordering from them again and again, especially since its 15% off for the grand opening!

Kin is down the street from us, so we wanted to give it a try one night. Im giving 4 stars for the phenomenal Pad See Ew! Will be back for that :) What we ordered: — Dan Dan mien: could be a bit more flavorful. On the bland side with a back of the throat spice… which I dont mind, but needed more flavor — Rock Shrimp: good mayo sauce, but the sauce may be a lil heavy for the light batter on the shrimp — Pan Fried Pork Buns: hey i like pork buns! — Szechuan Braised Beef: not authentic szechuan braised beef, but it was tender — Pad See Ew: this MUST be the BEST pad see ew Ive ever had… perfectly thick chow fun(not a broken greasy mess like some places) with tender chicken

The rock shrimp tempura is the best thing on earth! I also had the crispy Peking duck which was excellent as were the scallion pancakes. The cheese cake tempura sometimes came with chocolate sauce others with strawberry(I guess you have to ask). The coconut rice… not so good! Oh and you have to remind them to include their advertised 15

Kin Asian Bistro is a wonderful new addition to the East Village for delicious and reasonable Asian cuisine. We decided to come here around 7:30p on a Sunday and the restaurant was fairly empty. The space itself is decorated tastefully. Our waitress was very sweet and accomodating, and the food was great. Vegetarians — there’s an entire page dedicated to your dietary restrictions as well! For starters, the Thai chicken lettuce wraps were fresh and flavorful, and my friend loved the veggie spring rolls. For the entrée, I had the beef and broccoli($ 13.00) which was pretty good although the meat cuts were a little tough. The drunken noodles and veggie lomein were also a hit. Can’t wait to come back to try some tom yum soup!

Went here for lunch. My motto is ‘when in doubt, choose both’ so we had the chicken AND beef satay. Both were prepared nicely and I can never get enough Hoisin sauce. Kin’s was really thick and peanutty which I really enjoyed. I had the fish(talapia) in black bean sauce. It was lightly fried and then the sauce was added afterwards which helped to preserve a tiny bit of the crispiness. The dish was pretty flavorful and had a slightly spicy kick to it. My friend had the General Tso’s Chicken. This is a goto that you can’t go wrong with in most places. It was pretty good here. I prefer white meat to be used because of the texture but Kin made it with dark meat, which gives the meat a chewier texture from the fat and skin of the dark meat. Despite the texture that comes from using dark meat, I enjoyed the dish. It was also very flavorful and a spicy; a little spicier than the fish. We also enjoyed some red wine, Thai beer, and a Brooklyn lager. We went around 1pm on the Monday after the Christmas holiday so it wasn’t crowded at all and the service was very good. The hostess was very polite and accommodating and checked on us on occasion to make sure that we were okay and enjoying everything. Yay, I’m a fan!

Walking in, this place had a lot to live up to, as we were regulars in the old place(Purple Ginger). The décor is unchanged, just a different name. The menu is similar, however the cuisine seems more focused on Chinese as opposed to Thai, with a few Japanese flavors thrown in. Appetizer wise, the miso eggplant was really tasty, gobbled it up and forgot to take a pic. the Peking duck roll was interesting, I almost wish it was not fried and more like a fresh summer roll. could use more duck and less lettuce but overall yummy and would definately order again. Calamari — identical to old PG. Entrée — went with the tom yum shrimp noodle soup and it was really good, packed with large shrimp, baby bok choy, mushrooms, and noodles. Classic tom yum broth — lemongrass, sour, spicy — the spice level was on the mild side, may ask to kick it up a notch next time. My fella had the seafood noodle soup, and he requested they make him a spicy seafood soup, which is not on the menu and they gladly accommodated his request. That soup was good, different spice profile than my tom yum, it had basil and chili… maybe hot sesame oil? They aught to make it a regular menu item, it was excellent and packed with a variety of seafood(shrimp, crab, scallop.). The owner, a lovely and pleasant lady, was helpful and friendly. Good food moderately priced. Overall a pleasant dining experience. Looking forward to sampling more dishes and perhaps becoming regulars in this new incarnation of one my local favorites. :-) Also, totally worth doing the $ 15 for $ 30 Unilocal deal ;-)!! Update 5⁄2016: Removed a star. After the last several visits we have just not liked the food and the service has been terrible. Last visit we sat for a very long time waiting to order in a virtually empty restaurant. The vegetable dumplings were cold and I doubt house made, looked and tasted like frozen ones to me. The seafood noodle soup was bland and flavorless. Tom yum was totally off. We ordered a few other dishes but nothing was very good. Wondering if there was a change in the kitchen staff as things tasted very different. Sadly I doubt we’ll return.

Really really good food. The dumplings are so well steamed and delicious. The menu is vast and very reasonably priced. Nicely decorated, cozy surroundings.

I went there because of its 5 star rating on Unilocal. It looks like a normal Chinese place but it is NOT. We ordered fish and pork and they were delicious. The best part is the DESSERT!!! Mochi ice cream OMG and the fried banana. I can’t even!!! I literally can’t even!!!

I always liked the Purple Ginger but this is equally if not superiorly awesome. I eat lunch here at least once a week.

I work next door and was surprised when it changed from Purple Ginger to Kin. So on opening day I oredered dinner and found this place to be way superior. I’ve had the beef teiryaki and Orange chicken and thought both were excellent. The scallions pancakes are that perfect combo of crisp and chew and the Tom Kha soup the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.
