Each taco flavor had a distinct taste — chimi chimi, rude bwoy and tikka tikka. Lives the parathas. Will come for sure.

I orders the Bulgogi taco. Nothing spectacular here. Certainly not a 5 star. Just a simple taco filled with various types of meat. I feel that they are probably trying to do too many things on the menu.

Delicious! I wandered in while waiting for my laundry to finish washing a few doors down. The staff is super cool and welcoming. They won’t hesitate to help you make a decision. Tonight I had the paratha with chicken and rude bwoy sauce. The perfect amount of spice and flavor. All of the ingredients were fresh. It will be my new go to spot while I wait for laundry! The soup I tried tonight was roasted red peppers, Japanese pumpkin, coconut milk and curry. That was delicious too!

Really good! If this place was on 1st Ave or St. Marks with more street traffic and exposure it would be packed all the time. I went late so opted for a salad instead of tacos. The salad was HUGE and the flavors were amazing. Also, the staff is really friendly. I’ll def be back.

This place is amazing! I’ve only been here once and it’s already my favorite taqueria in NY for several reasons: (1) The food, of course! The ingredients are really fresh(and locally sourced), and the flavor combinations are done well. I particularly like the tika tika roll(although the chimi chimi and the pulgogi are also quite good). The chef is also particularly creative with the food, not only in the flavor but also in the way it’s served. Besides the traditional corn and wheat tortillas, there is also a «paratha» option. It’s just as good as it sounds. There are also tacos inspired by different regions of the world like India, Thailand, Jamaica, Korea and the Dominican Republic. Furthermore, the chef is happy to take requests to make vegetarian alternatives to tacos with meat or fish. (2) The prices are very reasonable, and there are also combos available. (3) The chef is super friendly and takes really good care of the customers. I was eating in and studying there, and he not only brought my food to me, but he also gave me a piece of paper with the wifi password. After I had a chance to eat, he came by and asked me how everything was. The customer service was on point. (4) 10% discount for veterans(I’m not one myself, but I have several friends who are). (5) It’s a cute and comfy place. There’s music, but it’s not too loud, and it’s easy to focus on studying. Also, the place is really clean, and despite being small it doesn’t feel cramped. I’ll definitely be going back.

This place is great! I highly recommend it. I initially was in the area to get goa tacos, but for some reason they were closed when it was suppose to be open? I don’t know! Doesn’t matter, because I found this amazing restaurant. It is much cheaper than goa for the same size. Like, as a broke college student, I’m sold!!! I tried 4 of the 5 different tacos they have on the menu. Being Dominican myself, I had to try the beef chimi chimi first, it was spot on. I had all of my tacos on a paratha, and it was perfectly crispy and soft at the same time. The menu is not as spicy I had expected, but it’s okay, because it’s still very very delicious! Additionally, I generally hate the texture of onions, I’ve always had. But I was so preoccupied talking to the owner that I forgot to mention no onions, when I received the taco, I looked and it, and proceeded to try it anyways. I didn’t even taste the damn onions! Everything goes so well together that I couldn’t single out a particular flavor. All the flavors work really well together! The owner is very nice and pleasant! We even got to try the seasonal soup for the winter, and it tastes great. I am definitely looking forward to seeing this restaurant grow. I am definitely going back with my friends and family. I’ve been eating traditional Mexican tacos for a very long time, and this is a very welcomed change. Thank you goa taco for being closed. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have found this gem~

Had the pleasure of chowing down here the other night before a night of adult beverage consumption in the area. When confronted with choices I tend to take a really long time and this causes my decision making ability to fester to points where I have walked out of places(ok maybe not that bad but I just read someone’s dramatic review about something else and was inspired). This place let’s you pick your components and everything sounded interesting. Luckily they have a board with recommended combinations for folks like me. In the end, we were the only ones there(and we have undiscriminating palates) so we had the luxury of asking«just make us a bunch of stuff.» The results can be simply put — we enjoyed everything we ate. We were able to sample some«off-menu» items that they were working on which were also very good. Hopefully they make those staples. Long and short — very clean flavors, a solid product, and friendly service. Go. I’ll be going back and bringing others with me.

«A» Rating in my book. The seasonal Roasted Kabocha is a must try before it goes away for the season. I had everything on the menu and you can’t go wrong. Just choose a flavor and you won’t be disappointed. My meal there would be the Roasted Kabocha to start. Followed by the Paratha: Chicken Tikka Tikka. Then the Roll: Beef Pulgogi The bottom line this place has excellent flavor using quality ingredients, prepared with care. Military/Veteran Discount

I tried Tac n Roll for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Cool concept with very fresh and tasty combinations of your choosing. The paratha(like a roti) is an awesome way to enjoy any of the proteins in any of the sauce pairings, but you can have a taco or flour tortilla or salad bowl option too. The price is sooo right and if you stay to dine there is comfortable seating. Super cool and nice staff too. I would definitely go back and try it again with other pairings. actually i think i will go right now!

Amazing original sauces from all over the world. Up your taco game and grab some Dominican Republic Chimi Chimi, Indian Tikka Tikka or Rude Bwoy from Jamaica sauces(and more) with a protein! They took a chance with a fairly unique concept and a wild set of flavor combinations, and they executed it very, very well. My favorite was the tikka tikka, and the overall meal was good enough that as a vegetarian, I probably don’t need to go to Goa Taco anymore. Thanks for an awesome meal guys.

there’s lot to TACO about when it concerns TAC N ROLL! seewhatididthere the newest addition to the East Village’s street food scene does not disappoint. the tiny restaurant tucked a few steps down from street level is packing huge flavors into hand-sized eats. eat in or takeout. the primary ordered eats is pretty simple. 1) choose a style: taco(soft corn or flour)/ paratha(crunchy flat bread)/ roll(flour)/ or salad bowl. 2)choose a protein: beef, chicken, shrimp/tofu. 3) choose a flavor(sauce): chimi chimi(dominican)/ «pulgogi»(korean)/ «rude bwoy»(jamaican)/ «street treat»(thai)/ or «tikka tikka»(indian). tacos are $ 3.50 and the parathas nrolls are $ 4.50. my first order? TACkled a soft corn beef«pulgogi» taco AND a chicken«tikka tikka.» if you eat in, your food will be framed by the small metallic trays which only add and constrast with the colors of your food. a plastic basket cradled the newborn taco and paratha with a tissue-ish paper wrapping each eat. while the flimsy plastic baskets fit with the street theme – they seem ill-suited to serve multiple tacos and parathas in bc the baskets themselves are smallish and the food is on the big-ish side. also the plastic containers themselves make for poor holders when your try to frame a seductive foodporn pix for instagram, snapchat, etc. and while that doesn’t seem important it actually is bc we live in a visually-driven social-share environment now. in any case, the baskets are reusable(yay for saving the environment – or something like that!) then again using a smallish basket would make the food seem bigger than it is… PSYCHOLOGY n PERCEPTION… back to the food: 1) the taco was double-wrapped in a soft corn tortilla. the beef was tender and had that nice fat quotient without being greasy or chewy. the«pulgogi» flavor did a nice job of tying the beef, cabbage, onions, and kimchee together. the spice factor was nice and controlled – a nice bit of bite and heat without it being over-the-top. then again i have a lofty threshold for the heat bc i’m hawt. WHAT! nah, it’s bc i’m brown… spicy tolerance is stewed into my melani. the taco itself is filled to the brim with meat(beef in this case) and veggies. the tacos are definitely not crack skinny… more like 90s J Lo. pretty full n firm. 2) the chicken«tikka tikka» paratha was a whirlpool of different tastes, sweet-spicy-savory. all good. the chicken itself was tender, not chewy or dry. the paratha(flat bread) was soft. had a slight crispy and crunchy bite on the outside and did a pretty good job of soaking in the sweat and sauces of meat n veggies… which only made harder to restrain from savaging it in a few bites. RESTRAINT. the only con was the paratha was a bit messy and the«sauce» of the«tikka tikka» will run all over your hand if you tilt it. so keep the paratha parallel to the table and you’ll be spill-free – geometrEAT tip! and there are plenty of napkins etc. to aid in any cleanup if you’re a messy eater like moi. the paratha is bigger n fuller than the taco(it’s also priced a $ 1 more. it’s pretty amply filled, not overflowing like the tacos. PROTIP: unless you like mainlining sugar from beverage conglomerations, there’s water for the taking, all you do is grab a cup and open the spigot. H20. GRATIS! you’re welcome. the space itself is laid out simply. several two-tops flush to the left side. very bright lighting. not a ton of décor items and clutter: beyond a map on one wall and small Buddha/light/fountain statue. there’s a lot of white space and neutral-ish coloring(nothing garish) – it’s almost like a palate cleanse for the eyes bc you eat with your eyes first… on the right, is the condiments and utensils: forks, salt, pepper, siracha, and self-serve FREEWATER. there’s an old-schoolish Coke Cola refrigerator full of soft drinks(Coke products and Boylans), juices etc. and a little beyond that is the order counter/cashier. TnR also offers hot soups(4 – 6 buck range) as well as smoothies, tea, and coffee. the staff is friendly without being bothersome – meaning they let me be after serving me my food. no fake chit chat. just a friendly ‘how’s the food’ and i liked the minimalism of it. as it wasn’t cold, but just the right enough of warm touch and courtesy. Tac-N-Roll does a nice job of bringing the gluttonous experience of street eating without the mess or chaos. it was actually pretty serene to be able to chomp down on a late-ish dinner in peace. though the only thing that i think is weird is there’s no pork here. where’s the Carnitas maaaan? the other white meat is MIA… drops mic bc it’s always TACOTUESDAY in this joint. nacho your kinda scene? too bad. i out. zzz.

The $ 4(after 20% grand opening discount) paratha with tofu, street treat(Thailand) style was not as tasty as Goa Taco, but a more reasonable indulgence. Dig the fact that you can grab this and a taco or a roll to try a couple things for under $ 10(the minimum after which you can use cards — they almost swiped mine before realizing and requesting cash). Small recessed space with a handful or so seats and loud music overhead, and a fridge full of some nice beverage options like pomegranate Bruce Cost. Service was friendly but slow(I was their first customer on Friday, the first day of their grand opening weekend, and they almost charged me without the discount until I pointed out the signs), and they thoughtfully offered some piping hot kombucha soup in a disposable bowl(it was good, but rushed to finish it because it was offered as the food was finally almost ready). They also provided a very useless social media reply when I asked when they were open, just pointing me to their site for pageviews. Speaking of social media, Like them on FB to be entered to win some food.

Cute place and the food was great. I got the paratha roll with chicken tikka tikka(India) and a roll with shrimp chimichimi(Dominican Republic). The paratha roll wasn’t greasy at all and it was nice a crispy. The green chutney sauce on the tika tika tasted really fresh and had the right amount of acidity. The shrimp chimichimi was my favorite. The shrimp was fresh and hot and the sauce on the chimichimi was to die for. I also got the roasted kabocha soup and it was fantastic. Perfect for the cold weather. Would have been great with some rice as well. Took my boyfriend here afterwards and he got the street treat(Thailand) and Rude bwoy(Jamaica). Both were great. The rude bwoy has a slight kick to it but the pineapples balance it out very nicely. Great meal for the price considering a traditional taco costs around $ 3.50 in the area and they only give you a 3 — 4 inch corn tortilla. The Tikka tikka on the paratha roll was the most expensive one I got, and was only $ 4.50. Great bang for your buck if you ask me. Was told that the menu would change every couple weeks to get a variety and different flavors up on the board. Super excited for what’s to come!

Wow, international street food without all the oil and grease. I had a shrimp paratha, tikka tikka style. It was tasty and included fresh vegetables — red cabbage, greens. The paratha was also flakey and crisp — not greasy. Fresh, yummy food at true street food pricing! Also, I like the ability to mix and match your proteins with the various flavors. For instance, I was able to have shrimp with pulgogi(usually done with beef) in a taco. Tasty spicy sauce on that one with a nice kick. Great place!

I was in the neighborhood for some drinks last weekend and stumbled in here by luck. Boy am I glad I did. Unlike your average taco shop, this place takes things to another level. You can choose from a variety of savory flavors inspired by different countries/cities from around the world. It’s actually a pretty genius concept, I’m surprised no one’s thought of this sooner. Eric, the owner, was very welcoming, and even offered me some soup on the house while my order was being prepared. I ended up getting two beef tacos — Tikka Tikka(India) and Pull Pulgogi(Korea), both of which I would highly recommend. The tacos were flavorful and utilized plenty of fresh ingredients. The meat was tender and moist, which is not always the case with other places. I also loved the generous portions and reasonably priced menu($ 7 for two). Overall, I left a very happy camper. Will definitely be back to try out their other flavors!

Stopped by the first few days it was open on the way home from work. Like a lot of restaurants in this style now, you choose taco/partha/tortilla, a protein(I went chicken and pork), and one of the selected styles. There is a chimichurri, Thai, Korean, Jamaican and Indian style. I had the Tikka Tikka with chicken on the partha roll(Indian) and Thai with pork on a soft taco. He hooked me up with a sample of soup they were working on(roasted pepper with coconut milk). It was good too, so they might be doing more sides like that in the winter. The flavors for the tacos were quite good, fresh and descent sized portions. The Tikka had a nice chutney sauce they place on top, and the Thai is a combination mango/spicy flavor. Pork was fresh, not dry like a lot of taco places tend to be. The space itself is small but the open kitchen is big behind the counter and there are places to sit. Eric, one of the owners was working behind the counter and was giving out 2 for 1 tacos during the opening and he was very open to feedback and how to make it a great place. Real nice guy and his partner was also there too. I’m glad the neighborhood has a place for a quick taco. I will definitely be back, and if you are walking down 4th st worth stopping in and trying one of them out. Will revisit ranking after I go back and try some more, but there’s no reason why it can’t be a solid 5. Wishing them luck.
