I’ve been seeing Kathy for a while and my results are great! The moment I walked in I was greeted by a cozy waiting room and pleasant Kathy! She’s very easy going and makes you feel comfortable right away! She’s genuinely interested in helping you get rid of unwanted hair as soon as possible, she’s realistic about results and won’t try to drag out your treatments. She’s gentle with a professional bedside manner and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her to men and women looking for guaranteed hair removal results!

Her place was nice however I found her to be less than pleasant. Electrolysis is a very personal experience. During such an intimate process it is not comfortable to be around someone that has a pretentious attitude. A little empathy goes a long way. After going back and reading the reviews, it seems as though they were written by people she asked, not out of their own volition. Maybe I caught her on a bad day but I prefer to go elsewhere.

I’m not a novice when it comes to electrolysis, as I had treatments over 20 years ago. When I recently decided that I needed additional work on my face, I began treatment with another NYC electrologist and I realized that she wasn’t very skilled and I was wasting my money.
I thoroughly researched Kathy and consulted with her. Immediately, I could see the difference. She is a true professional, uses state of the art equipment and is very caring and thorough. I had white hairs, coarse hairs, ingrown hairs — you name it, I had it. Kathy expertly took care of all of them and for the first time in ages, my skin is smooth and clear. if you are looking for permanent hair removal performed by a highly skilled professional, I would highly recommend Kathy! She’s the best!

Kathy has changed my life and is absolutely AMAZING AND TALENTED in hair removal!
I was very nervous to start electrolysis after hearing horror stories of people getting burned and having scars. I went to a consultation with someone before Kathy who was not exactly with the program and was very aggressive. I decided to meet with Kathy after reading her reviews, and my consultation with her was so educational and comforting. I expressed my concerns and curiosity of the process and she brought out a big poster with diagrams as she explained how electrolysis works in addition to the hair growth process. She is extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy.
I have been seeing Kathy for over a year now and I always look forward to going. Her treatment methods are so gentle and careful. She is also very accommodating when she notices that the treatment is becoming uncomfortable, and will try different variables that allow the treatment to continue but also make it as comfortable as possible.
Kathy knows quite a bit about pain management, and explained to me that at different points in my cycle the electrolysis will feel different, and the pain will also be different based on where the electrolysis is taking place. At the end of the appointment, she gives ice, neosporin, and witch hazel to calm the skin and help the healing process — and even told me how to care for my skin after the appointment to prevent breakouts. Kathy also provided me with information on numbing cream that I can get from my dermatologist, and also requires that moles are approved for treatment by a dermatologist before she will treat them. Bottom line: Kathy really does care about your skin and health, and wants this to be a positive experience for you. There are no surprises, as she tells you everything you need to know up front.
She is very personable and actually makes the appointment fun and relaxing with her lovely conversation and positive attitude. She is a joy to be around and I always look forward to our weekly appointment! I recommend her to everyone who is looking for permanent hair removal! My skin looks amazing and there is no re-​growth.

I googled for electrolysis locations in the city & came across KB. I called & she gave me an appt the same day.
I went over, filled out paper work and then she gave me info on how electrolysis works. Which is a plus. But she forgot to mention she’s cash or check only. (If you charge such high rates you should take credit) that’s a big negative it’s very inconvenient for a business in this day and age.
Also she is pretty slow compared to another place I just went too. She told me she needed 15 more mins to cover the areas (chin /​jaw bone area) and then the worst part … The post treatment was nothing but witch hazel!
Let me tell you from experience & knowledge that after getting laser or electrolysis one needs to have appropriate after care. She has no ice (to close pores) and no aloe Vera (to calm the skin) she just let’s you walk out and what happens I get like tiny tiny white (puss filled) pimples in ever pore she took a hair out of. It was awful omg I was popping them all week. It’s not right, to open the pores & not close them back up esp in nyc’s pollution.
I would say if you’re close and have open money to spend it’s fine if you’re on a budget there are MUCH better places that are also cheaper. Dropped her and on to the next one :)

I had a great experience with Kathy. She is very professional and accommodating. The results are way better than what I expected with no lasting side effects. Electrolysis is a serious commitment but it was totally worth it for me.

There’s no better choice! Kathy is extremely professional, careful and thorough — after each session I am always impressed at how careful the work is and how great things look. She explains things extremely well, so I always feel like I know what is going on and what to expect. I am super impressed with the entire experience and couldn’t be happier with how I look! But don’t take just my word for it; after just three months of working with her, I went home to visit my family — I hadn’t brought any fancy clothes and hadn’t cut my hair in a while; I’d even put on some weight since my last visit. Every female member of my family said they thought I’d lost weight and told me over and over again how good I looked! As happy as I had been with everything, I felt even more thrilled with this kind of feedback.

Kathy is an expert! You will not find another electrologist in NYC with the amount of training and knowledge she has. I have been working with her for several months and have gotten great results. I will continue to go to her until I am as hairless as I please!

I started going to Kathy in late May for electrolysis on my neck due to PCOS. It’ll never be painless but she does a great job at speeding the process along as painlessly as possible. I asked for a sample electrolysis during my consultation and decided I could handle the pain. I met with her generally 2 times a week for 45 min to a hour and I switched to 1hr every 2 or 3 weeks. I’m now about 15 months in and I almost have a hairless neck/​chin area. Kathy is professional, fast, and easy to get in touch with (I’ll text her if I’m running a few minutes late).

Before visiting Kathy, I had been to a total of 4 electrologists in the area over an extended period of time. My last electrologist (in Queens) came highly recommended, but after 18 months I was seeing a lot of regrowth without the hair reduction that I was hoping for. On the recommendation of a friend, I visited Kathy at KB Electrolysis. Since starting with Kathy, most of the treated hairs have been eliminated. She is very personable and has great insertions with her machine. Even though Kathy uses the same machine as my previous electrologist, I now experience significantly less regrowth and no scabbing between appointments.
Being a grad student, I initially hesitated to visit Kathy because her prices were more than what I was used to. However, I’m seeing significantly less hair than ever before. I honestly wish I had switched to this place sooner because Kathy’s treatments work better and are therefore so much more cost effective in the long run. It pains me to think about how much money I wasted before coming here.

When my friend became a client of Kathy’s it was during the time when she was making an educated decision regarding electrolysis equipment. I came along and I was not only impressed with Kathy as a technician but also in the manner in which she approached her decision on equipment — ensuring client comfort. The epilator she decided on is superior to any of the other choices and my friend had only rave reviews so I decided to visit Kath as well. Anyone would be in good hands with Kathy!
