Great Diverse spot! Music is always good. Hip Hop, Pop, u name it. I held a birthday party at a reserved table that I didn’t need to purchase bottle service for if I didn’t want to. You and your guest can just order food and drinks. Drinks are pretty normal city nightlife price.

Decent place for happy hour. Like most bars you have a few select beers on tap. If that doesnt strike your fancy then mixed drink. They came out alright. Decent prices on the drinks definitely helps but as others have mentioned, no food. Definitely a lounge and not a sports bar atmosphere. What really helps is having no cover and liberal attire policy. Stopped by with a group and found space to sit for all of us.

I went on a Friday during happy hours because I heard it was a great spot for afterwork drinking. Unfortunately, I was STARVING and I was very disappointed to hear that they served no food. I would of settled for peanuts! My friend had told me that this place had an awesome hummus. I come to find out that this place is under new management. Besides not serving any barfood, they had great music. The security guy acted like a typical Bouncer and seem cold and super unfriendly. He kept coming by and relocating our seats and made us feel pretty uncomfortable. Needless to say we went to another location that served food and drinks.

So Unilocal is here for us to read reviews and help us make informed decisions. But since I’ve never been one to listen, I always disregard things I’m told or that I’ve read, but this time I’m glad I tried on my own but was able to see that the reviewers are right before it was too late. Tried to book my 25th birthday bash here after hearing from a lot of people that this is a fun, open space that would cater to the different types of friends I have(i.e. dive bar types to the megaclubgoers). Sadly, I tried calling this place numerous times to book. Never did anyone answer the phone no matter what time of day or night I tried. Left multiple messages, only had one returned, but alas, I missed the call and called right back and no answer. I’m glad I coupled this early-on experience with other reviews so I took my party planning elsewhere(and had an entire floor of a place booked in under 5 minutes on the first call). Last thing I needed was to end up having a disaster night like others have posted here about having guest list issues on the night of and the like. Welp, Unilocal, thanks.

MMMM I wish I had come here when there was a DJ spinning. Unfortunately I went to Katwalk for a friend’s birthday celebration over Easter Weekend. It was pretty empty and there was only 1 bartender making drinks. They closed the 2nd floor and had everybody crowd up on the first floor. It wasn’t anything great. A couple girls and I bought the Unilocal deal and the girl bartender looked at it like it was some hoax. She kept asking the owner if it was okay and wanted to read the entire fine line. Then she would only take the deal for drinks that were $ 10. Any drink above the $ 10 price point she would make us pay the full amount for. That being said — the drinks weren’t too bad and it has a good location right by k-town. I might entertain the idea of going there again if they have a DJ there and the 2nd floor is opened. ~happy eatings

Katwalk is the one night stand of bars. You walk away feeling dirty and empty inside and full of regret. Seriously, this bar is über-sleezy and filled with the sketchiest people in the city. Creeper central. Not a fan.

Katwalk is great. No cover, no lines, reasonable drink prices, good crowd. A+The experience is pleasant from the time you are greeted by the doorman in the cowboy hat. He actually uses your name which is more personable and sets the place apart from the rest. The layout is comfortable. There are 2 floors. Upstairs is where most of the dancing takes place. I’ve been here many times, and Friday happy hour is where it’s at. The other bouncer is a guy they call«Flex». He’s so jacked that he can’t put his arms down straight to his side. He doesn’t say much, just sorta grunts and glares at people, just DARING them to get out of line. As long you you dont piss him off, you’ll have a good time at Katwalk. I would recommend bringing a date OR a group of friends. Dress attire is not very strict but most people get semi-formal.

I had my Birthday celebration here on Friday… My evening went from fun to a complete nightmare in a matter of 3 hours… I got to Katwalk at 10:45, I had a reservation. My party had 3 tables(9 seats) which was more than I had expected… I instantly had 4 different guys that were really creepy offer to buy my drinks… I was drinking, having a good time… The music was good, they play music that is easy to dance to which is ONE star… My best friend was sitting outside of the bar, smoking, when this man came up to her, picked her up over his shoulder and then dropped her and fell on top of her… she broke her collar bone and I ultimately had to take her to the emergency room… The bouncer(who looked like Zorro) did nothing, let this guy that dropped my friend back into Katwalk and said«accidents happen!»… I was so angry, the bouncer saw my friend on the floor crying and clearly injured, and did nothing to help. We are in the process of looking through Katwalks security cameras and possibly taking legal action against Katwalk… Thanks for the worst Birthday ever!!!

I’m not a difficult person to please and this place surely left me disappointed. Drinks were extremely watered down, the food was damn near awful and to top it off, the service was painfully slow. I was so surprised to see how busy this establishment was after finding out how truly poor quality everything is — but then again its in the middle of tourist ridden manhattan. I expected way more from this place and my visit. oh well. I katwalked out the door and vow to never return.

Just for the record, if I could give 3.5 stars, I would. First of all, you would totally NOT expect the spot to be as big as it is. I was pretty surprised. The guy at the door was cool. I didn’t like how he made it seem like you HAD to have reservations to get in… it’s really not that big of a deal. But he did let me, my bf, and our two friends in no problem… and there was NO cover(big plus for a Saturday night). Drinks were«meh.» It was $ 10 for a tequila sunrise, $ 12 for a long island and $ 7 for a blue moon(draft). Pretty standard, but I like my drinks inexpensive and strong… these drinks were neither. The tequila sunrise was too pulpy from all the orange juice, the Long Island Iced Tea was too sour, and the beer was just… well…a glass of beer, HA! We will probably go back, the music was cool and it was a pretty chill spot.

Meh. I’ve been here twice now… and, well… meh. Ups: music is alright, drink pricing is sort of acceptable, can reserve a spot without a downpayment/background check(whatever)… Doorman and bouncer are pretty entertaining though. Downs: Crowd is kinda lame. lots of drunk dudes and chick bumping into everyone. The design off the space isn’t really dancing friendly. DJ can be a little touchy too. Dang, relax!

So check it, Katwalk is NOT the greatest place in NYC to chill. It’s more like a low key spot in which you and your crew make the best of it. The pros are the music, the fact that you don’t have to pop a bottle to reserve a table, it’s not overly crowded and drinks are strong as hell. Thumbs up to the bartenders. The cons are the crowd(seriously, peeps with shorts?) The crowd is kind of lame. Kind of like peeps that got rejected from another spot so decided to come here. Like I said, it’s a cool spot, but you REALLY have to make the best of it.

What I love about this bar is the fact that they let some friends«guest bartend» for a few hours to raise money for a cancer charity. While I can’t speak to the everyday characteristics of Katwalk, my time there found reasonable prices that were the best in the area, as well as a great atmosphere. Definitely worth another shot to go here during regular hours.

Some positives – The bouncer looks like the Undertaker, but is awesome. He calls you by your name when you go inside and says«Thank you for coming» when you leave. – Music was really good when I went on a Saturday night.(new & old school top party hits) – THEYHAVEREDSTRIPEBEER! I love Red Stripe. it reminds me of when I went to Jamaica and I always order it whenever a bar has it – There were a lot of pretty girls, in case you guys were wondering… and we know this isn’t always the case in city bars. – Big screens of girls in thongs and bikinis on the beach. always entertaining lol Negatives – Place is small and was packed to the max. At some point, management really needs to stop letting people in, it’s just ridiculous. – The bar is L shaped and the bartenders definitely neglect the smaller side. Again, management needs to hire a bartender solely for that section. – THEYRANOUTOFREDSTRIPE… if you read above, you can tell I like Red Stripe, and so did everyone else in the bar because it ran out by like 12:30am. booooooo … whatever, blue moon & patron shots did the trick once they ran out of red stripe :) WORST time to go is 10pm-12am on a Saturday. THEREWEREWAAAYYTOOMANYPEOPLE. After midnight, some people started leaving and the place was still packed but we were finally able to move around. $ 7 for beer… $ 10 for a shot. I didn’t have any cocktails that night so not sure about that … Female bathroom has only ONE stall which caused a bit of a wait. I had fun once it cleared out a bit but — I’ll return only if it’s a friend’s birthday or something, probably won’t come by my own choice.

This places reeks of Midtown. Devoid of personality and locals, it gives no reason to come back. It’s not even weird enough to become interesting. The lack of a true kitchen renders the food generic, preprocessed concession stand fare, and the drinks are overpriced. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I know I ain’t in Vegas… yo…its 5pm… why are ALL the tables/seats«reserved» yo…why are the drink specials hand-written on a napkin that we have to pass around? yo…why is Guinness Stout your only acceptable beer choice? yo…why are the patrons shady-as-hell…I feel like I’m in a fuckin rap video yo…no… hellz-to-the-no

Radio Star Karaōke made us wait a bit before our room was ready, so we went across the street to Katwalk to get something to drink. Pros: No Line Bouncer was really cool No Cover Good Music Drinks are relatively inexpensive but watered down Cons: A little bit ghetto Space is small There are two TV’s one has girls prancing around in swimsuits and the other is broadcasting UFC. Overall, a fun place to hang out for a bit before heading to your final destination.

Hosted a guest bartender event for a fundraiser. When we arrived, the manager informed us the agreement was made with another manager and it could not be honored. — instead of having two people bartend, we were only allowed one(the bar had one bartenders on staff and would not allow more than two behind in the back) — instead of receiving the promised 50% of tips, we got 33%(the other 2⁄3 went to the bartender instead) We all understood the bartenders were making a living and that was fine. However, it was deceitful and wrong to lie to a nonprofit group just to attract traffic.

2 stars I had gone on a Saturday night for my friend’s party(open bar I think it was $ 25 for 2 hours?). The place was a lot smaller than I had expected and it was very crowded. The music was decent though — good mix of old school reggae, hip hop & top 40s. It’s a place for you to come hang out with friends, maybe do some silly dancing for laughs — but not a party party spot. The bartenders upstairs made the drinks stronger, but she had an attitude problem. The crowd wasn’t all that great either. I hear this place is good for happy hour. Maybe I’ll come check that out because otherwise, you won’t see me around this place.

Went there for a happy hour, $ 20 for 2 hours of all you can drink«top shelve stuff«. The places is cool for happy hours, the pre-party place to meet, not having to pay cover, makes it better. When we arrived, 11 of us, we had to look for the person that was putting on the bracelets for the 2 hours, could not find him/her so talked to the bartender and he helped us.(the first negative star). this took 15−20min away from us drinking and getting to a corner to mingle. The place when it gets a little crowded, gets hot, and nope the A/C is not broken.(2nd negative star). Great things about the place: the waitresses, they are great, they help you out as much as they can with drinks. the bar gets too crowded and you can only get about 2 – 3 drinks per hour, but with them its all worth it. The appetizers are great, some taco stuff thingy and wraps and other bar food were really well cooked and with flavor and not greasy. that a plus, since most girls were on a diet but still ate them all. Cant say what the regular price drinks are, since this was a Thursday after work event. Will def go back.
