Everything about this place SUCKS. Do not come to this joint! The service is terrible. I was flailing my arms to a waiter who was staring at me and he just walked away. Paper plates and plastic utensils? The food is horrible. And they tack in the gratuity because they know their establishment is terrible

This place sucked. Had lunch there after walking around south street seaport. Should’ve gone to one of the other places. Between the poor service, being asked to move tables before ordering, waiting forever to order, and not being attended to at all by our waiter, the food was okay not terrible but not good. The paper plates and cups were also pretty weak. I will not be returning. Also they add in 15% gratuity which they hide on the back of the menu

This place is also listed as being located at 199 Water Street(it’s in the same building so this is technically correct). The front of the restaurant opens onto the cobblestone streets on Fulton Street, though. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS for the quality of the food. $ 15 salmon dishes served on paper plates with plastic cutlery in bags reminiscent of eating at KFC. Coffee in paper cups. Really? I think not! We had the kids with us on this trip and unfortunately they don’t have a child’s menu — instead they directed us to the appetizer menu: french fries, deep fried chicken strips, shrimp cocktails, etc. Not the best selection(or the healthiest). I ordered a BLT($ 8.95) and it came on dry bread. No mayo. Our waitress didn’t come back to check on us after serving us our food — so I had to literally go and ask the chef for mayo. He actually pointed to a stainless bin on top of the food window and motioned for me to grab a few mayo packs. Sigh. One of the children had lemonade. I tasted it and it tasted like Wylers or Crystal Light made from a powder(had that terrible after-taste). This place is the penultimate tourist trap for folks crossing to and fro on the Brooklyn Bridge or many of the water excursions for the same. All I can say is NEVERAGAIN. A total waste of money. There are plenty of better places within walking distance… so there’s really no reason to waste your dollars here.

Bad. Food was — mediocre at best. Plasticware with paper napkins. 15% gratuity included regardless of party size — very unclassy maneuver to extort tips out of customers. Very cheap place. Will not last more than a year. Not recommended. Go to Red across the walkway.

looking at my reviews i’m starting to feel like a debbie downer. i wanted to go to red’s instead, but that was packed. jp mustards was open. it’s a nice place to people watch, the food looks like what you would expect — nothing to write home about, and nothing you would go out of your way for, but if you’re just out to have beers and people watch, it’s fine for what it is. the bathroom was clean at least. the service was pretty bad when i went, but maybe i caught them on an off day.

I guess it was bound to happen. For the first time, I bestowed a 1-star rating on a restaurant. Now, onto my 20th review: It was a gorgeous summer day so we decided to walk from my apartment in TriBeCa to the South Street Seaport. Once we arrived, we noticed that there were a lot of open seats in JP Mustard’s outside seating area, so we decided to eat there. While the waiter service was fine and the seats were comfortable, my turkey sandwich was horrific. The turkey tasted so bad that it most likely spent more than five days in the fridge, which by then makes the turkey unfit to eat. Not surprisingly, I don’t plan on going back to this place. If it weren’t for the decently tasty chocolate cake we shared for dessert, I would have considered giving this place 0 stars.

good coffee… they got almond flavored amongst other coffee flavors, great when that hurricane like storm striked around 2006. Sipping their coffee indoors while watching people get blown by the wind like they’re wind surfing was kinda fun… Not to mention they discount for folks who work around the area ’twas a big plus.

Worst excuse for a restaurant ever. Ordered breakfast, specifically asked the waiter if they had home fries and not french fries, he lied… I got french fries. Cold, along with scrambled eggs that were not scrambled, and also luke warm. When I complained the waiter gave me an attitude, apparently that’s what you get when you are late for breakfast. The only half decent thing was the coffee. I am sure they rely on tourists, they treat people as if they will never see you again. Well they won’t see me. PS Did I mention it is expensive, a big rip off.

I can’t bring myself to give this place a recommendation. Maybe if I come back at happy hour or something it might be enjoyable but as it stood, lunch was horrid. Terrible table service combined with the worst burger I’ve had in a long time = not fun.

Just like any other deli. Inexpensive and over-sized subs in addition to a few more options, such as pastas and such. Apparently the curly fries here are to die for but I don’t really like fries, so I didn’t have the pleasure of nauseating on them. I was hungry as hell, which probably made me a little biased in my liking my panini and this place in general, though. They have outdoor seating, which is always nice now that Spring/Summer is well underway, or so I hope.

If you had a bad day-JP’s is your place. Beer, Margarita and other specials($ 2-$ 5) make this place dangerous but fun and affordable. Better than running out to buy a voodoo doll for your coworker. The outside seating here is great as well. You are right by the water(not on the water) so get here before it starts snowing. Drinks in plastic cups are no fun in the winter!

Awesome outside seating, amazing beer specials(happy hour on weekends!) and damn good quesa dillas makes JP Mustard a place I will definitely frequent often:) Did I mention the employees? Whoever hires does a great job. If you’re ever in the area stop by, you won’t regret it.
