Not your typical Manhattan deli. Focaccia was good, as the turkey and bread were very fresh. There is plenty of seating. Also the place was clean. Cashier was friendly. They also serve hot food too! Great place for a quick bite.

The staff is probably one of the nicest in FiDi but the food is so bland and boring that I actually would have settled on a lean cuisines. Womp womp The quiche Lorraine was not great at all… The egg salad was… just not great. I give 3 stars for the staff… they are soooo nice.

Cute place to stop for a quick lunch. I got half a sandwich and salad for a reasonable $ 6.50. Nothing spectacular about the food. But I didn’t order anything extravagant, to be fair. I had half a ham sandwich and a mini Greek salad. The register says $ 5 minimum for credit.

Great place they always deliver superquick. The only downer I have to say is that you have to make sure the cashier gives you your card back. She deals with so many people at once and One day she gave my card to the wrong man and he ran off with it so I had to cancel mine. But they offered to give me a free lunch which they didn’t have to do. Great example of fixing a mistake and going above and beyond to make the customer happy. Two thumbs up!!!

Stopped in for an MTO salad. They seemed to have a pretty good variety of fresh ingredients and they chop the salad which is a huge plus in my book. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and the place seemed clean. About $ 9 for a large salad with chicken and a few other add ins.

I stopped into this place on a whim and got a bagel with cream cheese and was pleasantly surprised. My fiancé got a spinach pie which was also very tasty. I like the décor of the place –it’s not your run-of-the-mill corner Manhattan deli. It’s also pretty clean inside. The one negative I have about my experience there is the coffee. It was really bad, hence my four-star review.

This is for Café Gusto II. Im not sure about the one on John Street. After only a few visits, I felt like a ‘regular’. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is always good and fresh, from their chicken kabobs to their french toast. During very busy lunch hours they take the orders and prepare the food very quickly and it’s always right! I have seen their catering orders going out the door and it always looks delish! Very good customer service, above and beyond what I would do if I owned the place. Highly recommend!

I live close-by so stopped before going to work to grab breakfast food. Asked for a side-order of turkey bacon… paid $ 4.25 for the order… after i got to work, i open to find that there were only 2 small strips of turkey bacon…2 strips for $ 4.25? its absurdl overpriced. right across from where i work, they give 6 strips for 3 bucks — so will stick to there!

I don’t usually eat from this restaurant. Its only when I’m really hungry and they are so convenient but the attitude of the cooks that are operating the grill leave a lot to be desired. Just because you are a short order cook doesn’t mean that gives the right to be short and rude. No one looks up from what they are doing to say good morning. Can I take your order, or how may I help you. You are met with an unpleasant look as if you are doing them a favor by coming into the restaurant. While the food is tolerable at most, the prices are high and very little quality. But personality would make all that a little better.

I just happened to find it by chance, and the sandwich I order: the salmon on sourdough… It was amazing! Solid, good quality, fresh baked bread, and heated to the perfect temperature.

Good wraps and offers half portions of the hot food. Don’t take their free bread on the side though, it’s usually old and stale bagel halves and whatever left over stale bread they have.

This review is only for catering from Café Gusto because for our holiday team luncheon we decided to order from here. We had Salad, Tom & Mozz, Chicken Francaise, and Penne a la Vodka. There was plenty of food however the quality wasn’t too impressive. I found the Penne very watery and it didn’t have much sauce therefore lacked flavor. The Chicken Francaise pieces were huge but not too flavorful. The chicken was well cooked but just didn’t taste much like anything. Maybe quality is different when dining in but with the number of restaurants that are downtown, I don’t know if I’ll be trying Café Gusto again.

Stopped here on a whim to pick up a light lunch on my way to work. It took forever for anyone to ask me what I wanted to order, then took what seemed like an eternity for them to make my food. For the sandwich I got at the price that I paid, there was virtually nothing on the sandwich. My local deli charges less than I paid here, and gives me so much on every sandwich that I need to actually take some of the food off. Would not go back to Café Gusto.

I work across the street, so this has become my go-to breakfast place. Great omelette + 3 ingredient + toast + home fries deal for $ 5.50, and egg sandwiches are made fresh from real eggs. Great price with really jiffy and friendly service makes this place a winner. I love being a regular and that staff know what I want when I walk in. Couldn’t be happier with the food, prices and staff. Winner!

One of the better places for breakfast in the financial district and that’s why it gets 4 stars. Loved by me and my coworkers. Not the cheapest but not ridiculously overpriced either. Lunch is good as well and not that expensive for the area.

This cute little place looks like a mix between a diner and the typical deli-cafeteria in FiDi. They have baked goods, which is nice. But their coffee was terrible.(Good thing it was only a dollar.)

This place serves pretty decent lunch and for a good price also. Working around the Financial District really is a let down when it comes to food. Nothing seems to taste good but everything seems to be expensive. If you ever chime into Gusto, try out their hot lunch section. They have chicken, vegetable, pasta, sandwiches. I usually get their ¼ chicken with mash and vegetables with gravy and it’s really good. Their pasta is also acceptable if you have a craving — btw, they have jumbo size meatballs NOJOKE.

Yuck man, I just left here. I always get suckered into anything that says CAFFE on the sign. I ordered a latte that was just burnt. Burnt milk, burnt coffee, burnt tongue. I also had a piece of baklava that tasted like sawdust. PASS!
