Johnny Rockets

Probably the worst burger I ever had, very overpriced. Pretty much crappy fast food but more expensive. I do have to say that the waitress was very nice and service was good though. Never again.

Classic American Tourist Restaurant. Enough said lol
Interior: Very classic and retro. Fun for any type of casual occasion I would say.
BBQ Chicken Bacon Melt: I didn’t really have super high expectations. Just thought it would be alright. BUT to my surprise this melt was super delicious. The bread is crispy and the right amount of crunch. The bacon is not soggy at all. The chicken is soft and the BBQ is the great sauce that goes with it. Definitely recommend this over the burger!
Overall: Maybe if your in high school or early college this is a cute date spot? lol Just kidding no matter what age you are this place is satisfactory to both visual and taste standards. Bring your kids or bring your friend I think this is a casual spot that wasn’t packed with tourists but I feel is geared towards them as well.

Classic Retro Diner in look and the menu. Great for a quick Burger or sandwich, or a good old milkshake too. All served with a smile (made of ketchup in a paper bowl)

Okay, so on a serious note. The new ‘Spring deal’ has reduced the size of beef piece in the burger, today the fries’ potato was also having sort of sweetness in it.

This is the benchmark for all classic burger bars. It’s all about the patty and more specifically the meat to fat ratio. These guys dare to mix in a higher and therefore tastier fat content that just drips out goodness. The brioche bun soaks up some of this juiciness and still holds itself together, not crumbling like lesser buns.
Incredibly friendly and efficient service in a pleasingly minimalist, simple classic stainless steel and white melamine interior. And booths, you have to have booths.

We simply love JRs. The food is delicous (ok its still fast food LOL — but who cares if its good) and we never made a bad expirience in any location. We travel around the US a lot but this NY Location is still our favourite.

NOTE: The Unilocal times for this place are wrong. They’re open 24 hours every day.
We stopped in just for dessert and were impressed by the selection. We fell prey to the shakes and floats.
1. Float: I chose Orange Fanta. This was very interesting. The big scoop of vanilla ice cream was delicious, but I had to really stir the glass in order to make it taste like orange cream soda. It ultimately did. This drink is huge, but not necessarily cheap at $ 6.
2. M&M shake: It’s hard not to compare this to the McFlurry. In my opinion, the McFlurry is better. But this is not bad either. It’s pretty pricy for what you get. For $ 5, you get a pretty small cup. The consistency is a little harder than the McFlurry.

Best oreo and strawberry milkshake I have had in a while. And it was delivered perfectly too (not melted).

Traditional America fast food. Good burger fries and I enjoyed the shakes a lot. Especially the Oreo one. Strawberry is too sweet and so is the banana.

This place is a MUST-​GO for every New Yorker (…and tourists :/​). I’m a big fan of burgers, and I have to say this place has one of the best burgers out there. If you’re going to get a burger, I definitely recommend getting it medium rare. They’ll cook it really juicy. I got the Smoke House Double Burger and phew, it was an experience. When you order a burger, you get a side of salad or fries (your choice).
I went to this location at around 1 in the afternoon, and there was no wait. They have a lot of seating, but I recommend the booths. My personal experience at this location was great. Our waiter, Pablo Reyes, was hilarious and very very nice. I’m very indecisive, but Pablo remained patient and courteous the entire time. He checked in every now and then, and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied.
The fries are good, nothing spectacular, but good. However, this place’s legacy is it’s burger. The feel of the restaurant is pretty retro, with the booths and the retro counter.

Came here since I was in the need of a hamburger. The service was great and attentive… and the staff was very nice and pleasant. However, the burger was not. Ordered the Route 66 burger, it was bland, and it was hard to taste the different ingredients. The unlimited fries were good and is a nice plus (however, if you switch to onion rings, they are NOT unlimited, but it is not stated on the menu). Had a strawberry chocolate kiss shake which was fairly good, but it seems like the portion size (or glass) got a little smaller from the last time i remember.
Overall, I prob won’t go back.

The only thing I’ve had here was the french toast and it was the best french toast ever! It takes a while to make so only order it if you have the time to wait… The place is very clean and the staff are usually friendly.

Johnny Rockets has definitely improved over the years! This was a really good burger (I had the double bacon), my only complaint was how greasy the burger was. When I bit down into it, grease shot out and dripped all onto the table. Not to mention the bun was soggy. I had to remove the bun and use napkins to drain the burger and bacon. Basically I had an open raced burger.
Other than that service was good and food was out quick. I’ll give them another shot.

That’s one tasty burger [Samuel L. Jackson voice]. For a place that gets lost in all of this city’s impressive burger scene, they make a solid burger. The endless fries are really good too. And who doesn’t love dipping their fries into a smiley face ketchup person? Try the spicy houston, it’s my favorite burger on the menu. Oh and the service at this location is excellent.

I know, yeah, I know… that I shouldn’t be a big fan of chain burger restaurants. But Johnny Rockets has never disappointed. A very tasty burger, great shakes, pretty decent fried, super club sandwiches, and an absolutely wonderful, very friend staff.
Love how bright, pristine and retro the interior is. And they have one of the best logos around. Only balk is that they never seem to get the medium-​rare thing right… but that’s a very minor quibble.
Very comfy booths, a retro counter, and just fun… with better than diner burgers.

Good outlet of the burger chain. The burgers here are quite good, as they are at most of the Johnny Rockets. It’s best to keep it simple. The fries and shakes are also good.
Service is excellent. Usually easy to get a table. Fine for kids.

This place is really vintage looking. The staff here is nice. The burger I ordered was decent. I personally think its better than the shake shack burger I had and had to wait a long time for. Unlimited fries is the best

Been to Johnny Rockets about a dozen times. This place never fails me. All of the burger I’ve ever had were great. This time I opted to get the BBQ chicken breast sandwich with onion rings and bacon on top along with some fries. The sandwich was great and the fries were good as well, Did I mention that the fries are unlimited? That’s a plus for potatoes lovers like myself
Overall this place is somewhere you should try at least once.

Came here tonight for a quick bite, we were seated and treated very well from the staff.
I ordered the spicy Houston. I hated it. No flavor. Only thing that had flavor was the jalapeños. Also had a brownie sundae. Good but brownie lacked flavor as well.
Would give it 1 star but the extra stars are for he staff.

If you’re looking for a 50s diner experience (or something close to it), then Johnny Rockets is your place! it is a very family-​friendly and serene environment! Our waitor was very attentive and kind! My boyfriend and I ordered a Smoke House Double Bacon burger thing with bacon/​cheese fries which was $ 2 extra onto the burger. Trust me, SHARE ONE BIG BURGER! They’re intense! Unless youre used to eating unhealthy ALL OF THE TIME, then you WILL NOT finish it we also ordered a classic hershey milkshake which was as expected (very delicious)
All in all, an excellent first experience! Bill came out to be about $ 44 by the way!

Super Burger in gewohnt amerikanischen Ambiente. Service war sehr nett und zügig. Die Preise waren jedoch New York typisch höher als in anderen Restaurants von Johnny Rockets.
