NY Pizza + Spiderman Reference? Yes! NYU students all talk about Joe’s, but since I wasn’t over my fad of Brooklyn pizzas, I refused to go just yet. After a long day of studying during finals week, my friend and I decided to finally venture out and get some real food to eat(and not study snacks). Joe’s is conveniently located about 5 minutes from campus, and although crowded a little, the line moves fast! I love that people here are usually regulars and happen to know what to get. Also, there’s not exactly 500 toppings to choose from-which is nice! We decided to both get cheese slices, and although a little pricey for $ 2.75, it was so good!!! They really know how to make their pizza! The cheese is super gooey, and I can eat their crusts all day! We, of course, lined up for seconds! Couldn’t resist! The workers here are super friendly, and it definitely feels like a cozy mom and pop shop! Seating is a little hard, but since people eat so fast, I wouldn’t worry about finding a quick seat. And they stay open so late! A great late-night place. I especially love the décor inside! They have pictures of famous celebrities all over the walls(including the Spiderman movie references), and you can immediately tell that the owner is especially proud of his restaurant!

One of the very best counter slice place in the universe’s capital for counter slice places. Easy to pick up and fold, with amazing ingredients from top to bottom — something about their sauce in particular is just incredible. I would definitely recommend the Union Square location if you’re looking to get in and out quickly, and/or get a seat(although it’s pretty limited here as well).

Roaming around NYC lost, tired, cold, ofcourse hungry found a pizzaria called Joe’s in the eastside of Manhattan I think. It was getting dark windy and cold almost nothing opened due to the upcoming expected blizzard, this place had a wide range of pizzas at super prices, we bought a whole pizza to share and boy oh boy did it hit the spot, one of the best pizzas i ever had, the people were so wonderful very chatty and funny, another great experience i like to repeat next time at the big apple.

I’m a NYer, I’ve had a lot of pizza Came here for celebrity hyped pizza. It was an average slice for $ 2.75. Came from a fresh pie. Looked great but didn’t taste it. Looked like they skimped on the sauce and cheese. Taste was OK maybe a bit bland. Needed salt. Call me crazy but I still prefer the taste of a one dollar 2Bros slice.

Stopped by Joe’s after a night of drinking. The pizza was really good. I got the spinach and ricotta one and it was really really good. The pizza was crispy and delicious.

Not impressed at all. They have photos of all celebrities that have ate at this joint on the walls. Kevin Bacon said, in 2007, that if he dies he wants his last meal to be a slice of Joe’s Pizza. Apparently he’s never had a good piece of pizza. He probably just came to Manhattan, went directly to Joe’s and was told this is the best you can find in the City. We got a piece of caprese and a slice of pepperoni. None impressed me. Pizza was too dry burnt, and had no flavor. I may give the Bleeker location a chance but that will be it for me and Joe’s.

I’ll just say that I like the one on Carmine St. a bit better(see previous review). That being said, Joe’s East Village outpost is pretty good in it’s own right. Their slices are great, and if I am in the area and need a quick bite, I’ll definitely stop by here!

Although this place is super famous and I’ve heard a lot of great things about it I was left wanting a lot more. When I entered, my initial impressions were that it’s a pretty cool place and reminded me of old New York. The staff took our orders but weren’t super nice, really no smile or anything. The pizza was a decent size but I couldn’t taste a huge difference that would differentiate them. It wasn’t bad pizza but there wasn’t really a freshness like some of the other pizza places.

Ok I’d admit the slice I had was one of the best I’ve ever had and was only $ 4.50 ish. But that, «Grade Pending» is going to prevent me from returning. I was hungry and it was cold but with the volume of people in and out of this restaurant, anything less than an A is unacceptable.

Serving some darn good NYC pizza known for its thin crust and perfect ratio of cheese to sauce! I appreciate it when the slice isn’t drowning in sauce and sadly falling apart as you eat it. $ 2.75 for a plain slice and $ 20 for a whole pie. You can’t beat the price. The sauce was fresh but a tad under-seasoned. It needed a touch of heat or salt to bring it to life. Heads up– Credit card accepted only for purchases $ 4 and up. There’s an ATM in the store if you don’t have cash handy.

I’m from New Haven county. New Haven is home to Pepe’s, Modern, Sally’s, and pretty much anyplace on Wooster Street, the home of the best thin crust pizza you can find. The crust is thin, chewy with the perfect amount of crispness and you can take a bite and you always seem to get a perfect amount of sauce, crust, cheese every time. Amazing. New Haven style pizza is pure perfection. I was visiting my niece this weekend in the city and we were hungry at, oh, 3AM, so we walked over to Joe’s. The line was out the door. I ordered a slice of mozzarella. I ate it while we walked home. Delicious. Just the right amount of everything. We got two slices and two drinks for $ 10. Not too shabby and it certainly hit the spot! Highly recommend! It is just as good as Pepe’s and even though I’m a bit biased, I will say that it comes a close second!

New York Pizza… this is definitely a top example of that. My friends and i had eaten dinner, but then we walked past Joe’s pizza and decided that we needed a second dinner. best decision of the day Just regular cheese slice. Thin crispy crust with delicious cheese and tomato sauce. the ratio was really good too. not a big fan of too much dough. It is a bit pricey. almost $ 3 per slice for just a regular cheese. but aside from that, SOLID pizza! my card was lacking about 30 cents, but the cashier was like«don’t worry about it.». how kind! i shall be back for more

Oh, New York pizza, how I miss you all the time. Okay, so it was late at night and the girls and I specifically left Webster Hall in the middle of a show because we were starving so maybe I am biased, but this pizza was so good I could have cried. You can get a whole cheese pie for $ 20. I mean… what? We ate all but one slice, which we brought back to the Webster bouncer for being so nice and letting us have in/out privileges. I know there are hundreds of pizza joints in New York, but I would make Joe’s a destination next time I’m in the city.

We visited here as our final stop of Scott’s East Village Pizza tour. It was the only NYC style pizza we tried and was a nice way to end our tour. Pros: –True NYC Pizza. Huge slice served on flimsy white paper plate. A must-eat when you’re visiting the city –Cheap: $ 2.75 for a cheese slice –Quick: you should be in and out in no time –Easily located 1 – 2 blocks from Union Sq. subway station –Offers some indoor seating(stools/high tops) and a few just outside the restaurant. –Late night spot for NYU students or nightdwellers –Check out the celebrity photo wall! –Purchase by the slice or by the pie Cons: –Taste-wise, it’s not the best pizza you’ll have. It’s good, but not great. Fills you up but won’t inspire your taste buds. Still worth the price to try an authentic slice of NY pizza!

Happened upon Joes while walking through the neighborhood on a late Sunday evening. I had seen many people walking around with these white pizza boxes. Once I figured out they were from Joes, I had to try it. I had one plain slice. The service was fast with now line. $ 2.75. Probably the cheapest thing in the city. They serve it up on your standard generic white paper plates. Fold the slice up and eat! It was tasty with a chewy and firm crust. The sauce has quite a bit of flavor and the cheese is on heavy but not thick. Not bad for a late night eat.

3.5 stars. Great customer service, mediocre pizza. As another Unilocaler stated, the best thing about the pizza is the tomato sauce. I ordered a cheese slice as recommended. It was sizable for $ 2.75. The crust is thin, chewy, and crispy, but not dry, and with a bit of a char — great. However, the pizza lacked flavor, other than the sauce. I was so disappointed, as this joint is on several ‘lists’ for the best pizza. On the positive, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Joe’s Pizza NY: Manhattan: Union Square 1pm Wednesday 1st September 2015 Four Stars I have been here twice and I was not disappointed either time. It’s right by Trader Joes which makes an easy meal before tackling grocery shopping. I had a $ 3.5 Large Slice of Pepperoni. There was plenty of meat, a bit greasy with thin-ish crispy crust. The sauce was average with bright tomato flavor. There are plenty of Celebrity Pictures on the wall which means it has to be good.

Midnight snack before more drinks! I requested for the slice with a bubble and it’s apparently a high demand! The chick before me asked for it too! I was lucky a new pie just came out of the oven so I got my bubble slice! This is one of the reasons why NYC is the best city — a crowded pizzeria late at night! We don’t mess around when it comes to pizza time! Friendly staff, cool crowd and delicious cheesy pizza all in one!

I’m surprised it took me so long to try this place since it’s right next to my apartment. Everyone told me to check Joe’s out since it’s the go-to for celebs like Jimmy Fallon, so I decided to give it a try last night. I’m not a huge fan of pizza, but I figured Jimmy Fallon couldn’t steer me wrong. Perhaps my expectations were a little high for Joe’s, but the pizza was so… average. The joint itself was a regular pizza place: small with some high, round tables and a short menu of pizza slices– plain, margarita, sicilian, etc– and a house salad. I ordered the white pizza with spinach for $ 4 and got it in about a minute. I expected my mouth to light up with pure bliss, but all I felt was regret for eating something so unhealthy for no good reason. The pizza was so mediocre. I’ve had better slices are other places in the city, and for $ 4, a slice of pizza should be GOOD. The slice wasn’t thin or thick, too cheesy or too oiley, it was just… average. I don’t know what Fallon was thinking, but this is your average Joe’s(pun intended.)

Fast and efficient . Limited selection, but what they do have is fresh ! You order your slice and they stick it in the oven for a hot minute so it’s warm for you to eat ! Slices range from $ 2.50-$ 4.00. They have soda in bottle and in glass . Pictures on the wall show a lot of celebrity stop ins, so they must be doing something rite !
