I’m giving this deli 4 stars. Excellent customer service and I had an awesome, hot pastrami sandwich. This deli is close to the bus stops traveling out of NYC to other states. Great place to stop and pick up something for the road. I honestly didn’t know what to order, so the gentleman working there made a few really good suggestions. He suggested a hot pastrami sandwich and it was awesome! Tons of meat, added sauerkraut, provolone and mustard. He also made a coffee for me as well… NYC style where they ask you how many creams and sugar would you like. I love that! Wish they did that in VA. There’s something about awesome customer service, sincerely paying attention and making suggestions, it really goes a long way. I go up to NYC from time to time, so this will be my go-to spot before hitting 95 for a long us ride back home.

Love this place and love the people. Believe it or not, this nondescript deli across the street from Madison Square Garden delivers some the tastiest paninis and sandwiches in the area(as someone who works in a three-block radius), with the best bang for your buck. All paninis I have gotten here have been generously sized and super **savory**. Love it. Plus, they gave me a free chocolate-chip cookie — super moist! — on my third visit, after the guy recognized me. Great owners… come here for a great $ 7.50 meal.

Friendly staff, good food. Only thing is they are a little bit cheap with their portions and definitely overpriced but hey it is Manhattan…

I come to Jesse’s when I visit NYC upon my arrival and departure as the café/deli is right by my bus. This place is clean, very fresh food, and the staff are friendly. I have had their sandwiches and breakfast rolls, well prepared, and they make a good cup of coffee. Prices are good too.

Love this place! The food is great and not that expensive. The paninis are amazing, I’ve probably tried every one at this point at least once and have never been disappointed The people who work there are very nice and friendly as well. They’ll remember you which is always a big plus. Finally tried the espresso there after noticing the sign outside and it was amazing.

OMG — the SAME thing happened to me Nick A! That’s what I’m on here about to write about! I went there last Saturday. I purchased two coffees, and two small bags of cashews. The guy behind the counter, said«$ 5 even». I gave him a $ 20, and he gave me back $ 10. It didn’t register right away, until I was walking halfway down the street, and I looked in my bag and saw only a $ 10, NOT $ 15 which was my change due back. I didn’t have time to go back that day, and figured I’ll stop by when I’m in the area again. I went Thursday, and was told, I have to come back, and the counterman was rude. He literally told me, since he wasn’t there, «it’s not his problem». Can you imagine??? These guys are running a scam, and they lose a lot more than the $ 5 they stole, when they lose a customer that would would have been spending a lot more than that! Very bad business, on top of the fact they were extremely rude about it and in the end, said«I can’t help you, and then walked away from me. They have been pulling this scam for at least a year, as Nick A. posted his experience 2÷4÷14!!! I was even willing to take a credit and get more coffee, and then they still«can’t help me». There’s a very nice deli directly across the street, and they have better coffee anyway! Next stop better business buearau. For me, this is no longer about $ 5. It’s about the principle.

I love this place. Their salads are great and you can get unlimited toppings. The paninis are so good too. The owner is so friendly and the staff is also super nice. I go here for lunch all the time. It’s sort of my lunch go to place.

This place absolutely sucks! I’ve gone here 3x & felt bad because the owner tries to be as nice as he can be. I’ve always wondered why and here it is. This deli should not be in business, nor should it be called anything like Express. Everytime I’ve gone there, it either takes 15 minutes to get an egg white wrap or he completely takes my order wrong. All in all, this place is terribly awful and I recommend staying far away. Go across to Gardenia or to Bagel Maven on 30⁄7.

Just walked out of this place and realized I got rung up for $ 3.50, gave him a $ 20 and got back $ 11.50. How does that add up? My fault for not checking but watch the register guy. Also, the food is a ripoff(pic included)

Great fresh panini sandwhiches, crisp cole slaw, and great service. The guys making the sandwhiches and ringing you up are super friendly and engaging. I will come back here again!

They just remodeled and expanded their offering. I work around the corner and often go in for a chai(they have spiced or vanilla), its one size and price is $ 2.75. Not bad considering its less expensive than what you would pay for a smaller sized chai at Starbucks. I haven’t tried their food.

Bangin’ sandwiches and coffee! With the sad state of deli/café’s being overrun by their corporate counterparts(7/11, pizza hut/taco bell) in this neighborhood, it’s nice to see a new business that strives for greatness! While the menu is scant, the quality of the meats and bread is head and shoulders above it’s nearest competition across the street. The staff is genuinely friendly, not like the guys across the street and the coffee/cappuccino/espresso is the best on the block. they’re a tad more expensive than the competition but the .50 to $ 1 extra you pay is well worth the upgrade in quality. The traffic is kind of light but it’s summer in NYC. I really hope these guys thrive here. All they need is a hot chick manning a smoothie machine and the register. Yeah, it may be misogynistic, but it works for Rose’s Pizza in Penn Station. ;) Seriously, between Gardenia Deli, A&M Deli and the Subway on the corner, this is my pick for kick ass sandwiches and great coffee. Breakfast sandwiches are on point here as well, not as greasy as the other guys in the area. I really hope they expand the menu a little once they settle in to the space. Maybe an esoteric daily sandwich special? Keep up the great work guys!
