For the service– 2– the women who work behind the counter are rude and always seem put off when you’re ordering or asking a question. Customer service is obviously not their priority. They have been consistently annoyed when I use gift certificates I have received as gifts. If it’s too much trouble, perhaps they shouldn’t sell them? The food is good, I would give it a 4. I like the sandwiches although they’re a bit expensive. Not a bad place to stop in for a quick bite but too expensive for everyday. The concession stand is great, I’ve found the men who work there are nice and helpful. I work nearby and like to stop in for some popcorn as a snack.

I had the beet salad and the avocado sandwich. Portions are huge. Taste is okay. Prices are reasonable. It’s a solid option for a meal before a show at the Lincoln center.

I’ve been to Indie Food and Wine twice now. I go there before seeing shows at the Met. The food is mostly sandwiches and salads, with a few hot options thrown in. The servings are medium sized, but I’ve left feeling sated both times. The first time I went, I ordered a combination plate with samples of multiple sides. That was pretty good. The last time, I got an arugula salad with mint, peas, and the lemon vinaigrette, with chicken on top. The salad itself was nice, but the chicken had no seasoning and might’ve been better if it had been dressed in some way. It also did not come with any bread, and when I asked for some, I got three little bite-size slices. I give four stars because, even though the food is not the most amazing I’ve ever had, this place has great prices for the area. Everything around the Met is extremely overpriced, and you can eat at Indie Food and Wine for under $ 15. They do have a nice selection of wines as well. Summary: Staple sandwiches and salads available at cheap prices for the area in a very convenient location if you’re seeing a show.

I’ve been getting food here for a year or more and have been moderately satisfied. Unfortunately, this past Thursday, I got food poisoning from the buttermilk chicken.. I spent 40 hours in hell with this poisoning in my system, missed work etc. Tonight I very politely spoke with the manager about my experience. Well, she denied that it could possibly have happened. I got no apology, refund, or anything except denial. Please be aware of my experience and eat here at your own risk.

Perfect place to grab a quick bite before a matinée at the Met! Order at the counter, get a number, sit at one of the communal tables and make some new friends. However one word of warning: the duck confit plate is very, very good, but not terribly filling. On the other hand, their wine pours are very generous. Recommend getting a sandwich if you also fancy wine or you may feel yourself fighting the urge to doze off during the ballet!

Yuck Yuck and Yuck. We have been here before and it’s been lovely. Tonight? Not so much. The chef much have no dignity, self-respect or sight to put out plays like the ones on the pictures. I ordered the root vegetables. I think they were supposed to be roasted. These were much and tasteless. Couldn’t discern what riot vegetables they were. In fact it could’ve been overcooked pasta, or clay. The other dish is an appetizer sampler. Meats and cheeses, olives, sauteed kale blah blah blah. It was not actually that. It was gross. And there was literally one thin alive of prosciutto, and two little chunks of cheese. The other stuff? Undetermined. Wow.

The ambiance is very nice and the service is good. Not the most attentive, but good. The location is really what can’t be beat if you’ve got a show to catch at Lincoln Center. The food is on the bland side and not very inspiring. I had a salad and soup and neither was very flavorful or interestingly seasoned. Ingredients seemed fresh enough.

Indie came highly recommended but I wouldn’t know! Long lines for coffee made me late this morning, and I had to get to the office. Instead of attending to customers, the counter staff(very professional in cartoon character t-shirt) chose to argue with the one lucky customer who was actually getting any attention. This morning was a coffee cart start instead.

I really like everything here. I like coming here for lunch and coffee. I strongly recommend their latte(Irving Farm coffee) and salad/sandwich combo. It’s the best and closest café near the Juilliard school :) Fyi: After 5pm, you have to wait to be seated. Happy hr: 7−9pm

This is one of my favorite places to have a drink and some eats after work. It’s close to my job and they serve cocktails after 5pm. Each time I’ve come, I’ve had a well-made Manhattan or two. The food is also quite tasty. That cheese and pepper pretzel is just right! Chewy, flavorful and served with a slightly spicy mustard. Their sandwiches are tasty as well. I imagine this spot is also great for lunch, though I generally come later in the day.

Great place to get some fresh and quick food. Definitely recommend their sandwiches and although the price may seem high, you will definitely get full.

Delightful food – I had the duck confit with roasted veggies and polenta – and excellent wine(the Langhe Rosso was a cousin of barolo) for under $ 25, try to beat that anywhere in the Lincoln Center area. A bit noisy but at least there isn’t a lot of loud music on top of the sound of people chatting.

Cozy and intimate café in the Lincoln Center theater district to have a healthy meal and delicious wine or whatever drink of your choice. At first we were judgmental and thought this place would be on the expensive side considering the location and upscale looks. After seeing their menu, we were incredibly satisfied with the variety of selection of snacks, appetizers, main course, dessert, and drinks for an affordable price. We had their buttermilk chicken sandwich with all the right greens such as spinach and avocado along with a glass of red wine to top it off. I’d recommend to stop by and explore especially if in the area. Outstanding services! Looking forward to visit in the future.

Seasonal, tasty and simple food. Plates come in small portions, but price isn’t steep($ 12 per plate). I got the combo with half roasted squash salad and a root vegetable side. The squash salad is so tasty. More than a salad, it is really a well-composed appetizer with whipped goat cheese and roasted butternut topped with watercress. The root vegetable mix was only ok. Hazelnuts added good crunch but some pieces of the root vegetable were way undercooked. Service can be spotty. My dinner was fine, but the girl accidentally gave the two ladies next to me some olives that someone else ordered. It’s really the server’s mistake, but she said she would have to charge them for it. I thought that was quite unreasonable.

We came here to get some food after a walk that ended up being 3 hours. It was solid, a good easy, low key place to grab food. It reminded me of Gray Dog meets Panera meets another city because it felt like a place that could be in Boulder or Denver. Liked the food, it was quick and easy.

Really nice food served in a crucible of noise. Jangle your nerves before a show at Lincoln Center. Want to obliterate your afterglow from the symphony? Snap out of it with a blast of noise at Indie. Only go here if you have voice to burn ’cause you’re gonna be semi-shouting to your partner. If this place would INSTALLSOUNDABSORBINGMATERIALSONTHECEILING — problem solved; and employees would not be abused by 8 hours in that blender of blather.

The best deal on a good quality iced coffee on the UWS. This little nook is hidden and not easy to find but definitely worth the hunt. Donuts, pastries, and fresh sandwiches for lunch.

Indie Wine was the star of my night at the ballet. It basically upstaged Misty Copeland(okay, not true but it was very good!). My friend and I were scoping out places to have a drink before our 7:30 ballet tickets and this(once we found it) was the perfect spot. Though we had to wait about ten minutes, once we sat down the service was very quick. We ordered French«65s» which were great and my friend had some type of ricotta/honey toast combo. After our ballet ended around 10 we were starving and Indie had been so good before that we headed back for more! I had a caesar salad with chicken and avocado. The chicken was poached which seemed a little odd, but it was tasty regardless. This should be your go-to if like us you’re attending a performance and need somewhere to have a drink/bite before or after.

I’m at indie about once a week, since my office is nearby. The lunch ‘combo’ is a great value and their seasonal menu keeps it interesting. My only word of warning is the service can be VERYSLOW. Slow for eating in. Slow for take out. Slow slow slow.

Came to Indie Food and Wine for lunch during my recent weekend in the city as it was centrally located to where several family members were staying. Had a bit of a time finding it as the signage of the restaurant is not visible from the street/sidewalk.(Pro — Tip — it’s located in the building housing the Film Forum and Munroe Theatre) However — once we finally went inside I was greeted with a blackboard listing various sandwich/salad/soup/small plate options. I ordered a Harvest Turkey Sandwich and a cup of their Soup of the Day(Tomato) along with a glass of Berry Black Tea. We were given a number and told that someone would bring out our order. The space had a constant flow of patrons but never to the point where it was loud or crowded. Soon after our meals were brought out by a «can’t be bothered» waitress who was even more«can’t be bothered» when I asked for some mustard and bread to go with my soup. Mustard was brought over but no bread. Mark C. was gracious enough to go to the cash register and procure some for me. For a $ 6 cup(not bowl) of soup — some bread would have been nice. Being in the Theatre District I was sort of prepared for the meal prices but had thought that the cost would equal the portion received. Unfortunately this was not the case. As Laura E stated my turkey sandwich(which was supposed to come with arugula, goat cheese and garlic rosemary potato chips) was lacking in all the ingredients except the turkey. For $ 13 I would have liked maybe a side or at least a bigger sandwich. I did not even get olives that Laura E. received with her sandwich. As for the soup — it was warm and comforting on a cold and rainy day but it could have used a bit of seasoning and something to balance out the acidity of the taste. As others have stated in their reviews — a great space to hang out and have a snack, but if you are looking for something a bit more substantial, keep moving.
