Stopped by here Saturday night with my bf for a drink before having dinner at The Ribbon around the corner. Such a great date spot! It’s small but cozy and quaint and excellent wine & food selections. Love the dim lighting! We grabbed a glass of wine and ordered a cheese plate($ 19 for 3 cheeses — which were fantastic — and came with yummy toast & a side of jam). Definitely hit the spot for the cheese craving we had and the wine was delish and great pricing. Great service too — our waitress was helpful with cheese selections. Looking forward to returning to order some food — lots of options on the menu. Great date spot for a quick drink — especially if you’re heading to The Ribbon down the street after(it’s less than 1 block away on 72nd). Not suitable for large groups — essentially all bar tables and bar tops — perhaps could seat 20 – 25 people in entire bar, at most — but a great neighborhood gem nonetheless!

So happy with finding Bin 71. Wanted a snack and some bubbles before our New Year’s Eve celebration. We were lucky to get seats at the bar. Small and busy, but in a good way. Very nice, friendly bartender. Had the filer sliders with mixed green salad and the boconcini and tomato pesto crostini. Very happy with both choices. We could have ordered several slider orders they were so tasty!

This is my go to place for a quick bite and a glass. Total neighborhood hang out and frequented by many an ABC anchor. I only wish the owner would open one on the east side!!! Even my west coast friends make this their first stop when in the city.

I’m not sure if he is the owner or just the bartender but the little guy who has been at the bar the last two times I’ve been here is unfriendly. We found him to be quite sour. It’s a cozy place but he really dampens the mood.

I had lunch here yesterday and it was fine. It’s a small space and everyone is sort of up in everyone’s business, which is kind of annoying. The cheese plate is $ 19 for three, which is expensive but you do get a lot of cheese for what you’re paying. The slabs are big. I ordered the cheapest red wine, which was a $ 10 Merlot and it was good. Not my favorite wine bar in the area, but it’s a good option seeing as most of the others aren’t open for lunch.

A general lack of service and underwhelming food makes this a three-star place. Bin 71 is a small place, its outdoor seating the major draw in the summertime, indoors is nothing but a bar, no tables at all, which I find odd. I wasn’t greeted at the door, had to make eye contact with someone and see if it was ok to sit at one of the tables outside. Was brought a glass of water and had my drink order taken by a waitress, but I guess her shift must have ended because I never saw her again. Someone else took my friend’s order and we had to flag someone down to put in a food order. He wasn’t too thrilled to give me his opinion when I was trying to decide between two items. I was disappointed that my trout was indeed a smoked trout, must have missed that in the description and it was indeed an appetizer portion. If you’re hungry, don’t come here because you’ll leave hungry. And the menu is limited and has an assortment of weird things that seem to lack a theme or rhyme or reason. Back to the bad service — not once did anyone come by to refill my water. And we had to flag the guy down again to get the check and wait forever for him to come pick up our credit cards. Bin 71 is good only if you want to sit at a cute outdoor place, people watch and have a small bite and a glass of wine.

Tiny but cozy. Great selection of wines by the glass. Reasonable prices. Wonderful charcuterie plate. Will return.

Great spot. Was recommended by a friend. Fantastic menu — both wine and apps. I always love a patio. Staff could definitely smile more.

Tiny space, well appointed. Drinks are a tad on the expensive side for the volume of wines given. Overall ambience and décor are pleasant. Low noise level so conversation is possible. There is a small outdoor seating area. Relatively expensive finger food. Biggest detraction… the owners, waiter personnel are so aloof and cold that one might as well be served by a robot. Actually a robot is better. The servers are condescending. This will be my first and last visit. Thank you.

A nice small bar with an excellent selection of wines all over the world. Many different small plates, cheese and charcuterie. The bartenders are very pleasant and knowledgeable. This is an excellent place to go on a date or to go solo! Highly recommended!

This is the perfect neighborhood spot for sitting outside with a cold bottle of rose. The meats and cheeses taste great and the portions are more generous than other places around. The veal gnocchi is amazing and the little neck clams are very good. We’ve been a few times and never been disappointed, we’d go more but it’s hard to snag a table. Definitely check it out and see if you can get lucky.

Great food + cozy atmosphere. Plus they have really nice wine selection here, and I was very pleased with their service. Great neighborhood spot. Will be back for sure.

This place is cozy but fresh and elegant. It’s a great spot for two people but if you show up with any more than that, it might be hard to fit. Unfortunately, half the time I go here, it’s too crowded to stay. However, if you manage to find a space, the wine selection and small dishes are great. It’s also nice to sit out on Columbus when it’s warmer out.

A lot of wine bars in this immediate area. Don’t really know that this stands out among them, but it’s decent. Also, when the wife went out to meet her friend on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to watch the Giants game. Gotta say, this is the first time I’ve watched a football game in a wine bar. I zoned out while the Giants got trounced and they talked about GURLSTUFF.

Cute place. Nice wine selections and there was a very good looking crowd of people that came in and out of here. The bartenders/servers were REALLY great. Service was a 5. It’s a smaller and more intimate wine bar than some of the other ones in the area, but its character is just as big as them all. Perfect for a date and after dinner drinks.

Dropped in here after a few drinks at the nearby Empire rooftop. We picked a bottle of Napa cab that was very good. They have a decent bottle selection and keep wine stocked around the top shelves of the restaurant. The space is tiny and they have occupancy limits, so we were lucky to get a cozy table. We ordered a cheese plate that was fantastic — I forget exactly what kind of cheese, but it was one of the better cheese plates I’ve had in awhile. We also had a pancetta, mozz and tomato appetizer — the pancetta was amazing. An overall good find and cute date spot.

I hate the UWS. It’s fulla old white stuffy yuk yuks. …but this spot is golden. The wine selection is terrif and the SQUIDSALAD was on par with what I’ve had in Spain and Portugal. Whaaaaaat?!! Yes. Soooooo gooooood. The 2 bartender chicks were cute… like 35 – 40 years old and in good shape. The spot is tiny, or intimate if you prefer. There’s like 10 bar seats and like 3 tables inside and like 5 tables outside. The bathroom is microscopic… if you are from south of the Mason-Dixon, you ain’t gonna fit, fattie. Ok…I may not hate the UWS as much, now.

A good place to tuck in from a snowy, cold Sunday night. I’ve been before with a friend, but came alone, and parked up at the bar. The bartender was friendly. This place is really the size of a very small studio apartment but it works for singles or pairs who want drinks. I just had a $ 15 glass of Twenty one rows Cabernet, and an IPA. If you liked chatting with people you do not know, you’re close enough to just do that. Have fun figuring out the latch inside the bathroom.
