Sucked! The guy working on my nails cut me multiple times nd not just little ones, there was full on bleeding. I will never go in here again!

One word: HORRIBLE!
I went in for a basic polish change for my toes and a manicure for my hands…
The woman doing it kept telling me I should do a pedicure instead-​which I explained I did not have time for. She rushed my color choosing process. She talked about me in Chinese to the other women the whole time. Sadly, the polish job on my toes was the best part.
The manicure was terrible-​she did not get any of the hangnails-​and that’s why I opted for a mani instead of just a polish change. The nail polish was watered down and poorly applied-​it chipped within an hour. I do chip my nails easily, but usually several hours later. The drying station was of terrible quality-​no wonder my nails barely dried after 20 minutes underneath it! A tiny little fan that you can barely feel, no UV light, no heated air, nothing.
In addition, being that it is winter out, I asked for the plastic wrap to keep my toes from getting messed up. She put the wrap straight on the polish, which luckily did not mess them up (usually they apply a quick dry coat or something). I was so not impressed.
All in all, a waste of $ 25 (polish change, mani, tip). Never again.

LOVE Martha and miss her. I still say hello when I pass her in the street, but I’ll probably never go back to the shop…
I used to frequent the shop — I live across the street — but their colors turn yellow and seem diluted as well I had made an appointment with Martha — who I used to see weekly — came in for the appointment and she had just begun working with another customer. I had to wait 20 mins for manicure — what’s the point of an appointment.
As well the other ladies are not up to speed for manicure shops in the city. I would not recommend going to anyone but Martha. As you can see from the other reviews, it seems this is the consensus but it is difficult to get in with her and who really has the time to wait esp when you’ve taken the time to make an appt?
Sorry In and Out Nails… I’ll go across the street for a mani — and it is 2 dollars cheaper — and find a new pedi place in the ‘hood.

Martha is worth making the trip. Her waxes are thorough, and most importantly, over quickly. Been going to her since 2004.

I went there on Monday, because they have a mani/​pedi deal Mon-​Wed $ 25. I had an appointment for 1pm but had to wait 15 min.
The whole procedure took less then an hour (I’m used to at least 110 min). The stuff speaks very little English, they are friendly, but do a very poor job.
When I saw pieces of skin lose on my feet and I asked the girl to work a little more on them she just said I had very dry skin and she couldn’t do anything. Somehow before I had never experiences such a problem.
The manicure was also poorly done, lots of skin (cuticle) left, bits of nail polish around the nails, no cream used… And it lasted only 5 days!
Moreover I ended up paying $ 30 + $ tip and the lady even tried to charge me $ 34 at first.
The only good thing was a small back massage while drying the nails. (Drying devices are quite good by the way.)
I was very disappointed. Even for this money I’ve had much better mani/​pedi! And I’ve never had to give myself a pedicure at home 10 minutes after I had it at a salon!

Pedicure lasted from ¹⁰⁄₆ thru ¹⁰⁄₁₆. Full vacation, sand, sun, snorkelling, and the french pedicure is still hanging in there. The manicure… well…let’s just say I had to re-​do the polish myself days ago. But that is ok. I would rather have nice nails I did myself than cracked chipped leftover manicured nails.
The pedicure water was cold. And there was no obviously visible disinfection station but I went with it anyway and thank God did not suffer some infection.
They did stick true to their name. They got me in and out. No blood bath of previous NYC nail shops, either. I’d go back. I would just have my expectations aligned with reality. [Original visit 10/​6/​10]

I’m not much of a mani/​pedi person.
But, I did want to put in a very high rating for the waxing done here by Marta. She is incredible, and does a better job than a place three times the price. Marta is only there on Wednesdays through Sundays, I think. Don’t go with anyone but her. She’s amazing!

This place is literally a hop, skip and a jump away from my apartment — which is why I decided to stop in for a much-​needed pedicure.
I’ve been happy with the two pedicures I’ve gotten, which were basic. Total $ 20, plus tip. I’ve been twice this summer, the people are friendly, the place is clean, but by no means spa-​like. So if you are looking for that — this isn’t the place for you.
The only thing I didn’t like about the place, was when I went there the second time, they kept asking if I also wanted a manicure. I was headed to a wedding, so I thought «what the heck?» In the meantime however, 6 more people had shown up, and it was 30 minutes to closing.
As a result, my manicure was rushed so that the woman working with me could tend to the many guests that were waitiing.
Two weeks later: my pedicure is totally intact but my manicure is begging me to bring home nail polish remover, as it shows signs of serious chipping.
I’m willing to give them another try, because my toes still look nice.

— No still water, its filled up when you sit down
— Friendly Staff
— $ 20 for a basic pedicure, $ 26.50 for basic pedicure & manicure
Cons:
— Going in the evening might result in mixed results
— Tips in cash only
