Didn’t expect such a cute little place! Perfect date night! They have such great deals too, call and ask! 1 appetizer 2 entrees and a bottle of wine for $ 49! Staff is so nice, only seats about 15 people in total and is totally wonderful!

Il Vino, which means«the vino» in English I think, is a really delightful spot. However, it is good only for what it is good for. It is small and if used correctly then it will be great. Correct use of The Vino…45 minutes early to Dinner res… well then, have a glass of wine and possibly some cheese. Done with dinner and want the party to linger on, pop into Il Vino. It is tiny and seating is odd. It is not a place I would enjoy going to alone.

Cute little nook hidden amongst the grim Upper East. Colorful, communal and great service. I recommend coming here for happy hour. Tried an excellent Rioja.

I can’t write much about this restaurant, as I never got to eat there. I made a reservation on Open Table for New Year’s Eve over a month in advance and called the restaurant twice to confirm my reservation. When I showed up a few minutes earlier than my scheduled reservation, the owner acknowledged my reservation, but told me there were no tables and I would have to stand if I wanted to eat there!

Very nice and attentive waitress, and good, warm homemade tasting food. Everything cooked in a small area near dining area, cozy place, nice ambient music. Cute for a little date night. The Diavolo pizza — spicy shrimp and garlic was good. Small shrimp and not much cheese. Nevertheless, it was different and worth a try. The bolognese was tasty. Felt like eating at home a warm bowl of pasta. The appetizer was my favorite the Salumi tray: mortadella, salami, prosciutto, cheese, olives, apricot spread, perfect sampler; what’s not to love?! The wine was good — Chianti and Riesling

A little quaint intimate gem of a wine bar. One I hesitate to share because it’s so sweet and cozy and I didn’t want to give it away :) But giving it away! Very small with only a cork community table and handful of other seats inside and a small outside seating area. But the wine selection, cozy feel makes it perfect for a date or meeting for conversation with a friend or two . The service is always outstanding and this new gal pictured was amazing even had my back for being very late — saying beauty takes time for women ha She was very sweet and personable aw have all the servers and managers been every time I’ve gone. Highly recommend as a date spot

My boyfriend and I came for the $ 49 dinner for two special! The Caprese Salad had the best tasting mozzarella and was a great starter. The main course was the prosciutto pizza which paired well with the bottle of Tempranillo wine.

I LOVE this place. Great place to go with friends, sit outside and take advantage of the amazing service, food and happy hour specials. The food was REALLY really good. For the life of me, I can’t figure out where the kitchen is because it’s so small but honestly… I could care less.

Got the voucher deal on Unilocal. It’s a small space, but the outdoor seating was accommodating. The wines we had were very good(a Zinfandel and a Shiraz) and the cheese plate was good too. Their pizza(we got the prosciutto e formaggio) was very good. Overall, we were very please. The waiter was knowledgable and friendly, the food was good, bottled wines are a little expensive, but with the deals to save $ 11 and a free dessert, we were very happy.

My friend and I got one of the red wines off of the $ 28 wine list and it was very good for $ 28! I’d definitely get it again. The setting inside is nice and intimate, while outside allows you to enjoy the busy streets of the Upper East Side on a good weather day. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars has to do with the offer on the Unilocal app that says customers get a free crème brûlée with check-in. I showed our server my check-in and at first he said that it wasn’t applicable if we didn’t buy food. I said that that wasn’t clarified in the check-in, because the check-in didn’t specify that any special purchase had to be made for the free dessert. Later on, he changed his words to say that we couldn’t buy any of the $ 28 wines and had to buy a more expensive wine for the free dessert. We ended up getting the free dessert after a lot of frustration and dealing with management, but it just wasn’t a satisfying experience.

I’m finishing up a good meal a Il Vino. We ordered the $ 49 dinner special for two: bottle of wine, salad, and two entrees. The rating breakdown is as follows: 1) service = 5 stars = wonderful waitress who was very prompt and courteous. 2) ambience = 5 stars = nice outdoor seating with cool music. 3) salad = 4 stars. Order the arugula with pear and goat cheese. Very tasty. 4) entrees = 3 stars. Good pasta but with too much oil. 5) free crème brûlée = 5 stars. So good!!!

Amazing little hole in the wall on the Upper East Side!!! Food is delicious and wine selection is beyond superb!!! I took a friend of mine who isn’t a vivid wine drinker or drinker at all and he had a great time. We had the Red and White Wine samples which gave him a feel of what he preffered and then we ordered a bottle of Riesling. The service is great!!! I believe the owner himself took care of us which gives you a very good feeling about the place. The food was great we had the goat cheese based crostini and a mushroom pizza, DELICIOUS!!! The flavor is exquisite. Will definitely be back for more!!!

Came to Il VIno wine and bar with my husband for some wine before heading back home upstate NY and for our surprise we ended up dinning and enjoying some beautiful wine. Diego one of the owners was super attentive and made great wine selections according to our food. Diego also advice a few plates such as, for beginners we started off with the proscciutto e burrata platter burrata was so fresh and creamy & proscciutto just right and not salty we then moved onto the tortolini wt mushrooms in a marsala wine sauce and the burrata ravioli of which my husband and I both shared. For desert we order a cheese platter to finish up our sophisticated full body red wine. I heard the pizza’s are yummy as well, I guess we will leave it for our next visit. :) This is an amazing small and cozy place great for first dates! Special thanks to DIego for his hospitality and chef Thomas ! We will be back soon!

Teeny tiny little unassuming wine bar with seating for less than 10 inside, but don’t fear — warm weather is here, allowing for 8 – 10 more outside on the sidewalk. Be careful, take 2 small steps and you’ve passed it without even noticing. I’ve been here twice, and even though it’s small, I have had no problem getting a seat with one or two others. Wines a pricey, but really yummy! Also awesome, was the food, which is amazing considering it’s pretty much all cooked in an area no bigger than a bathroom! Ha The menu for food isn’t terribly large, but it’s what goes with wine. Cheese, pizza and 3 pasta dishes. The pizza was great. I shared the prosciutto pizza and the tomato ravioli with my boyfriend, along with some vino. Although the service, which should’ve been amazing, was not, I’d still come back. The place is so small and the staff is always right there, I’m not sure why getting a glass of water took over 5 minutes. Whatever. Not a deal breaker. It was also a plus that when we asked for the check at the end of our time, we got our wine glasses filled up just about half a glass for a «night-cap». It was a nice gesture on a quiet Monday evening. I’d like to come back and sit outside for happy hour, which they do have, that ends at 7!

This was a perfect date night spot! They had a magnificent wine selection, very intimate setting and AMAZING food. We each ordered wine and loved the prosciutto pizza! It’s tiny and snuggled on a busy corner but it made for a perfect date night.

BESTSANGRIAINTOWN. Came on a Saturday night, no reservation, walked right in. The sangria is a MUST, we got the blood orange pitcher for two and it was amazing. We both ordered flat breads and they were super tasty, fresh, and a good size to combat the amount of sangria I slugged down. Would definitely recommend for a swanky Saturday dinner before going out in the UES.

We love this place. I have been here with friends and with dates, I’ve sat by myself with a good book and a nice glass of wine. It has a nice wine selection and lots of by the glass choices, they have good specials which vary daily. Always great to go with wine is a good cheese selection and a nice menu with salads n pizza. Really a nice place with a relaxed atmosphere. Personally my favorite UES wine bar, much better than San Mateo or 1742 next door.

Finally Spring is here and the nice comfortable weather invites us to enjoy some good wine and eats al fresco. On the way home this Friday night it was just too nice out to eat inside. Il Vino Wine Bar is just steps from our building and an easy choice to grab a table outside with a bottle of wine to cap off the long work week. Il Vino is an intimate and cozy little wine bar on the UES. Nice selection of wines, many from Italy, but also from Spain-USA-Australia, etc. Prices are decent and they also offer happy our deals on select wines during the week. Also offered is a small tapas type menu. Cheese and fruit plates, olives, puff pasty, and some terrific pizzas to share, among others. The margherita pizza we had last night was delicious, and made so fresh. Definitely a relaxing spot for conversation and chilling out over a glass of good wine. Service is friendly overall, and the location itself is a bit small so finding spot to sit is hit or miss. Sometimes you have to do the hover and jump into a seat as soon as it empties. Some seating on the inside with a fun décor and wine corks embedded in the communal table. This is a great locals place to take a date, have a pre-dinner glass of vino, or to just chill and relax. A nice little gem in the UES/Yorkville area that is not at all pretentious as some wine bars can be.
