My go-to pasta delivery place. My life has changed ever since I discovered their Penne alla Vodka with pancetta. SO good! This place is out of the delivery range for my apartment, but thankfully my boyfriend lived within range. Unfortunately, he recently moved away. Goodbye, Iggys. You have treated me well. I’ve only tried two things on their menu: the penne vodka and carbonara. Don’t get the carbonara. Get the penne alla vodka! Sucks that they have a delivery fee on seamless, but the pasta is worth it.

Extremely fresh and very easy on my stomach, 2 slices pizza with fresh mozzarella and basil, $ 7. Definitely the best pizza in this area!

I ordered pasta fagioli and an individual pizza for delivery via Seamless. The soup was decent, but I was surprised to find pancetta in it(the menu on Seamless doesn’t mention meat). The order was on time, but the pizza was cold when it arrived, leading me to believe it was sitting out before it left the restaurant for delivery. OK food, disappointing experience. I probably won’t order from them again.

It was a really forgettable pizza. If it was anywhere else I would’ve given it a better rating but with so many good places on 1st I wouldn’t recommend it.

Typical pizzeria with ordinary pasta dishes. If you’re not looking for something fancy and want generic and quick, this is definitely the spot. This place reminds me of the million pizzerias you’d see on every block as a kid. Average prices for average food.

Decent pizza for an okay price, good if you’re starving and don’t know where else to go. I’ve come here a couple times and every time that I do the guy behind the counter is extremely rude. Came here because it was close but definitely would not recommend it to a friend. I guess it could be worse but it could be alot better. I definitely think they could improve their customer service.

Pizza is soft and tasteless. Limp pizza. Just bought 4 pieces and threw them in the trash. Dollar pizza tastes better.

Wow a neighborhood pizza place that has 2 slices and a soda for 5.00. Pies look good and sandwiches look really good. Check this place out. Pizza surprised me way better than most places with combos.

GREAT&FRESH Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich on an outrageously crunchy hero roll! I ordered in via – will definitely order from this spot again. A+

Order the grandma’s slice when you come to Iggy’s! It’s always tasty. I’ve also had their regular margherita pizza and it’s nothing special. Not bad but not great. The grandma’s slice is definitely the way to go.

I wish I tried their pizza… I came here with all the intention of getting pizza slices, and then as soon as I saw the calzone on the shelf decided«calzone with the typical NY pizza crust must be fantastic!». You see, some years ago I had the most sumptuous calzone in the Wilmington, DE area, really more a suburb of Philly, and have been longing for that calzone ever since. Surely I would get it in New York, right? Well, not quite here… Now, by no means is this calzone not good. It is good. The dough is quite good actually, to a point where I think if it was on the pizza, I would really like it. But I’m forever going to compare any calzone to the one from Philly, and their crust is a bit different — more buttery flavor and not quite as chewy. Second, they only had the calzones with the ricotta cheese — good in its own right — and none with the tomato sauce, which was what I was really looking for. So yes, the calzone is perfectly good, but I’m looking for something more. It’s really more a 3.5 stars, but a sort-of-attentive, sort-of-not service, quite a wait for the food(20 minutes or so), and not quite a satisfying food experience means rounding down to 3. Table-for-1 Factor: The restaurant is a nicer version of your typical NYC pizza joint, so eating alone is almost expected.

The pizza was great, I ordered a cheese, got what I paid for. It was 4.50 with a large soda

Best pasta fagioli in the East Village. The menu has every classic, Italian entrée you could imagine, the food is affordable, and the delivery staff is friendly and very fast!

Maybe I made a poor slice choice because my pizza was meh. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as great as these reviews rave. I grabbed a slice of the spinach and ricotta pizza. So you have spinach, ricotta, mozzarella, garlic, olive oil, etc. The first three ingredients are mild in taste and need something to enhance that flavor. Maybe some salt would have helped? I’m not sure but it just wasn’t very flavorful. There was also a lot of oil on this slice that I had to soak up with napkins. And lastly, I ate it at the restaurant so he warmed it for me but that was it. Just warm. If I wasn’t hungry and in a time crunch I would have asked him to throw it back in. The garlic knots, as promised by the other reviewers, are amazing. The selection was limited when I got there(around 7pm) but from what I saw they had some other good looking pizzas. I just wonder if it was this particular recipe that could use some tweaking.

While performing in a play at Theater for the New City, I was scoping out pizzeria’s between the theater and the subway. There are three 99 cent pizza joints in close proximity. One is fair, one is really good, the other is Papa John’s. I had been to East Village Pizza and Kebab’s and, I’m sorry, but those two words just don’t belong together. Then, just past Schnitz, I saw Iggy’s. I looked inside and really liked the atmosphere, so I went in. The little Spanish guy(is anyone Italian anymore?) took my order with a minimum of customer service, and I had to wait for the house pie to finish. «Two minutes» was really eight, but damn it if it wasn’t worth the wait! Easily the best city slices I’ve ever had! The crust was thin and doughy at the same time. Crispy and hot, The cheese was flawless, from tip to crust. The sauce melded completely. Nothing beats a fresh house pie and Iggy’s became my regular stop. I even got cast members of the play to go in and suddenly they had a new favorite place as well. Solid. The play ended and I miss Iggy’s.

Wow I didn’t leave them a review and I’m eating here everyday. Best dish is the penne vodka or the fetuccini Alfredo, their lunch special panini is really good and only 6 bucks.

Great Italian on a budget. The location itself is moderately sized with six four person tables and a clean environment. You can order by the slice or one of their classic Italian creations to go… or have a seat and enjoy a traditional Italian entrée. No one will be overly impressed by Iggy’s, but it is a staple Italian place with a café feel.

Iggy’s would have earned a single star if I delivered this review last year, but time has healed wounds and this place has bounced back somewhat. When the fiancée and I ordered takeout from here about year ago we both got food poisoning and I vowed to never eat here again. It was horrible and with so many pizza options in the neighborhood we thought this would be an easy one to avoid. Down the street the $ 1 pizza wars are ongoing with Papa John’s, Vinny Vincenz, Joey Pepperoni and 2 Bros all offering $ 1 slices. Even Hot & Crusty sells pizza on the corner of 14th and 1st and if you want something of higher quality you can always splurge on Luzzo’s, all of these places being within 2 – 3 blocks of Iggy’s. Going south from Iggy’s you have the perfectly capable East Village Pizza & Kebabs and Stromboli Pizza within 2 blocks. If you hop up to second avenue, Nicoletta, Viva Herbal and Numero 28 are within 2 blocks. Just writing down all those options made me feel lazy because the only reason I ventured back to Iggy’s is because it is the closest to my apartment. The laziness of my body has overcome my desire to not get food poisoning again at the tender age of 31 years old. Simply pathetic. Since I went back 2X following the incident, the pizza and pasta has been quite good, thankfully my body has reacted normally post incident. Every time I come here now it feels like I’m rolling the dice though, I haven’t gone skydiving but the anxiety before-hand must be similar in that you are scared and could throw up at anytime.

Solid East Village slices. I got a regular slice + a spinach/ricotta/garlic($ 6.25 total). Both were tasty. Dude working behind the counter was kind enough to let me know that a fresh pie was coming out of the oven soon if I wanted to wait a few minutes!
