Would not recommend this place. They served me a glass of wine from a freshly opened bottle which contained an insect. Service was condescending. Would not return.

This place is wonderful. I’ve been here quite a few times for brunch and now, finally dinner. Each time, the food is delicious and obviously made with care. The presentation of the monk fish with violet potatoes was unparalleled and a steal for the price. You must also try their homemade ketchup… if only they bottled the stuff. :) This is the kind of gem you hope to find in New York. It’s no wonder why it’s been around for so long.

We had a pleasure of lunching at Home on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. We were able to converse at a normal tone and truly enjoyed the well-prepared and very fresh local ingredients. The flavors were excellent as was the entire experience. The wild rice risotto was exceptional.

The food here is absolutely delicious. The farmer’s egg starter, and duck pastrami and Atlantic cod entrees were all amazing. I really enjoyed the Elderflower Collins, which was not too sweet and perfectly made. One drawback is that when my sister and I went there, we had no reservation and the restaurant had several empty tables — but the host was reluctant to seat us at first. The slightly snobby attitude changed once they could see we were actually there for a full meal and drinks and planned to spend some money. I think they could drop the attitude a few notches down, but the food did make it worthwhile for us.

We went to Home this afternoon for brunch and it was wonderful. From the immediate interaction with the hostess to sitting down in the garden. The atmosphere was wonderful and it wasn’t overcrowded .The serving experience was great. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. The food was amazing !! I totally recommend the Mac and cheese and pancakes. We both loved our entrees and will totally be back to Home.

We revisited Home after not eating there for a few years, and happy to say it is still excellent, delicious food and naturally friendly service. My husband was hoping for the pork chop he remembers so fondly, but it wasn’t on the menu this time. He ordered the steak instead, which was cooked perfectly to order, and demolished the brussells sprouts he was allowed to substitute for kale. I had the lamb shank with roasted root vegetables and the kale – as good as the entire. Portions are generous. We had room for the brownie and a big scoop of in house made bourbon ice cream. I usually have wine with dinner, but this time I had a gin and tonic that was well proportioned and lasted through dinner. Lindsey was our server, and we enjoyed discussing New York with her. We will be returning!

Came here for brunch on Saturday at 2 pm and it wasn’t too crowded. The place is a bit small and narrow, but cozy. I got the brunch prie fixe with the cobb salad, which was just ok. I felt like the stuff on the plate didn’t really play well together. I was eating a lot of individual things instead of a nicely mixed salad. The best part of the salad was the bacon bits. But that’s just me. I also got the ricotta pancakes which I enjoyed, especially with the maple syrup they had. The menu states that it comes with homemade sausages, which was what I expected, but they provided bacon strips instead. I’m not sure if they actually offer homemade sausages, but they apologized for the confusion and offered us some fries as a replacement, which I thought was great. My wife’s mac and cheese was really tasty too, with a little bit of crispiness to them. Coffee was good. And as always, the company and conversation made the meal.

One of my favorites in the neighborhood — I love how the tasty dishes also change with the season. Love the space and the service as well ~ it’s just homey and comfy and yummy ~

Came for brunch on a Saturday with a reservation. The place was pretty empty. They have a price fix brunch deal for two courses and then an additional charge for unlimited drinks which I want to come back for. The mac n cheese was fantastic and the breakfast potatoes were amazing. I had eggs too-also great but carbs stand out per usual. Service was great except when it came to the bill; there was some confusion on credit vs cash charge. Adorable inside. Will be back!

Great little place on a quiet block in West Village. The food wasn’t spectacular, but it was a warm environment and staff is very friendly. Great place to catch up with old friends.

i came here for dinner with a group of 4 on a sunday night. was a very intimate cozy setting **note cozy as this place could’ve used a bit more air ventilation swirling around, it got quite toasty as the tables started to fill. the food was amazing, excellent preparation! per reading reviews on Unilocal we started with the mac n cheese, yum! also ordered the heirloom tomato salad along with steak tartare. everything tasted very fresh with excellent seasoning. for entrees we ordered the halibut, chicken and duck breast. the duck was tender with a delicious wine sauce drizzled around the plate. the duck could’ve used a bit more salt. And the side was a fancy sounding saffron cheese rice, but really just tasted like white rice with cheese sauce. the halibut was also prepared very nicely with a nice veggie ragout. we were also able to squeeze in dessert, we got peach pie and chocolate flourless cake. both tasted very nice, i favored the chocolate cake as the peaches felt like they were a bit underdone. overall thought this place was a good find and would come back here again for a date or with family.

The restaurant is small but I was seated in there backyard for a bridal shower brunch. The Mac and cheese was so delicious. It was creamy and crunchy with just enough flavor. I had the BBQ brisket as my main dish. The meat was tender and moist although the flavor was a bit bland. For some reason, the grits that came with the dish was appetizing. I wish there was more! The two eggs that also came with the dish was nothing extraordinary. Also, I consistently had the white sangria throughout the bridal shower. It was a little strong for my taste buds but everyone else there seemed to be enjoying their drinks. Overall, the food was mediocre. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Service was slow and it took a while for the food to come out. This place is more like 3.5 stars than 3. Would I come back here? Probably not.

Had a WONDERFUL experience at Home. Cozy seating and food even better than your mothers cooking !!!(Sorry mom) we started with the Mac and cheese — MUSTORDER was so cheesy and delicious, heirloom tomato salad, and steak tartare all very tasty. For mains we tried the chicken, halibut — soooo delicious, and duck very tender and lean. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake AMAZING and peach pie and left feeling 100% satisfied. I definitely will return ! Unilocal even had a 10% off coupon !!!

The Quick: An excellent meal and overall exquisite experience with great service, cute décor, and strong drinks. Cannot wait to return. The zucchini blossom is a must. The Details: I went to dinner at Home with six people, and we all absolutely loved our meals. The standouts were the fried zucchini blossom served with an addicting honey yogurt sauce, the halibut, and the pork belly. The pork belly had the perfect texture and was extremely rich; I recommend splitting that and a lighter dish(possibly the duck). The only dish I didn’t love was the steak tartare because it was partially cooked. It also had w heavy mustard taste which overpowered the dish. Everything else was perfect. Note, there is a cute outdoor seating area which is perfect for date night. I will absolutely be returning. The Damage: Since it was a large group, I luckily didn’t have to pay. Check the website for prices and menu changes.

This is restaurant was super cute and fairly small. My understanding is that it serves food from around the NY state area, so everything is very local and delicious. The menu was somewhat limited. I selected the fondue and the mac and cheese. Both were absolutely delicious. The foundue came with lots of great dippers. NY state apples, cured meats, some bread if I correctly recall. Our waitress was great at explaining the different options. I tragically left my left over mac and cheese at the restaurant, though. Just writing this review makes me want to go back and eat more food.

This is an amazing little restaurant and I had the best culinary experience there! Everything was so delicious and prepared with such love and creativity! Some of my favorites were the steak tartare, salmon in a dill cream sauce, and the eggplant steak(you would have no idea this dish was vegetarian!!). Also, their cocktails are phenomenal! Thank you for an amazing meal and the warm atmosphere; I felt at home :) Will definitely come again! Highly recommended!!!

Delish! It’s a small place but the food is good, service is good, and ambiance is nice. Get the Farmer’s egg as a starter — the risotto that comes with is amazing. The Shinn Estate«Wild Boar Doe» wine is really good and pairs well with a lot of entrees. I personally had the squash for dinner and I really enjoyed my entrée. Other entrees within our group were the mac and cheese and the gumbo; both of which received good feedback. For dessert I really liked my Butterscotch pudding and the flourless chocolate cake is really, really good. Solid place for dinner. Very tasty!

This place is probably the definition of a cozy restaurant. It’s very narrow, but they make it work. What they lack in space, they make up for in ambiance. The overall atmosphere was very warm and inviting. I had the short ribs with polenta and breakfast radishes(they are so cute — I’m obsessed!). The ribs were cooked perfectly, but I thought the polenta and the breakfast radishes could have used more seasoning and had more flavor. I really enjoyed their house ketchup, which we ate with our side of fries. I hear very good things about their brunch though, which I’d like to check out someday.
