They will not write down your order, nor will they bring it to your table quickly. They will not refill your coffee, nor will they clear your plates expeditiously. They may not even look at you. That said, the food is really good and of course, it’s #cleaneats.

Sometimes you eat something, and you just can’t stop thinking about it. I came here with someone such a long time ago, that I can’t even remember exactly what we ordered. Between the two of us we got a breakfast dish with pancakes, a banana smoothie, a sandwich, and most importantly dessert! For dessert we got the chocolate mousse. The mousse is absolutely delicious with the coconut whipped cream. I tried to recreate this at home, and failed miserably. I just loved this dish, and I wish I could eat it again. In addition, I loved the ambience and layout of the menu. There was something for everyone — vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options all conveniently marked on the menu. I just love this place and what it stands for — I love eating great tasting healthy food, and that’s hard to find. I will most definitely dine here again if I am in the area.

What a gem. The atmosphere here is great, it’s relatively quiet and not overcrowded, and the ceilings are particularly beautiful. I had a lasagna special that was amazing, and the crispy chicken dish was tasty. Good wine list. Service is great — laid back and friendly, but attentive. Will definitely be returning!

Got there Friday at 4:47, 5 o’clock it took me and my friend a while to find it we had to do a lot of walking up and down, back and forth if you didn’t know exactly where it would be, you would walk right past it because there are so many stores and bakery and whatnots around that area. We got seated in the booth/chair table, the place was empty basically. My friend and I took a good 30 minutes to discuss and google what we were going to order, finally we placed our orders we got water and I order spindrift orange mango sparkling soda and my friend ordered chai tea, the soda tasted like orange juice, my friends tea was bitter so she swapped it out for the just peachy smoothie it took what seemed like forever for our food to get their. I ordered the crispy roasted chicken and I wanted the bacon Mac and cheese but they were out of it so my friend ordered us to try the sweet potatoes with zucchini and cilantro on top and she ordered the salmon burger. When I tell you the portions are small they are small/expensive. Good thing we weren’t starving. I feel like if you aren’t a big eater or don’t like a lot of food this place is for you, my crispy roasted chicken wasn’t dry but wast like fall off the bone moist the vegetable purée I had on the side I didn’t like it tasted like mash potatoes, my friend said her salmon burger was slaty it was because of the alfalfa sprouts when she took it off she said her sandwich tasted less slaty I had tiny piece of the salmon when I tell you they cooked it in salt like dipped it in salt it was salty just that little piece I though I was going to die from it. my friend complained about the booth being small for the fact that you didn’t have space to put your coat down and the fact that you are sitting literally right next to someone else, in very close proximity she also complained about how small the tables are because we basically had no space for our dishes and drinks. Things were bound to fall. Overall it was a really nice try would probably Come back for lunch can’t say it was bad can’t say it was absolutely fantastic or amazing just a good maybe mediocre experience.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Great ambiance and service. The food was quite unique and the juices were good too. My friend and I both got omelettes, one with a side of home fries(very good), one with a side salad and everything was delicious. It was very pleasant and I would definitely go back to hang out and explore other things on the menu also! *One thing: try and sit further away from the juicer because it is LOUD.

Hip but not over the top restaurant. Atmosphere is cool but relaxed. I went with four of my friends this Sunday for dinner. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. She recommended the chickpea fries — and boy was she right! They were so good! I wanted the chickpea burger first, but since they were out of English muffins I decided to have it as a wrap instead. It was yummy! My friends tried some other dishes that they enjoyed. I tried my friends tofu curry and it was alright, not too crazy about if but definitely okay. A restaurant I want to return to for sure(I want more chickpea fries)

Great food and great service! I’ve been here twice and the food has been consistently awesome. The food is healthy and also tastes great. This time we had the Moroccan lentil salad(good!), chickpea burger(great!), spinach gnudi(great!), the poblano pepper(great!), steamed kale(pretty good) and the gluten free almond butter cookie(great!). The only thing I didn’t love was the kale, but that said, I think they made the kale the best it could have been if it has to be steamed. They gave it a good flavor and added red quinoa on top. One of the people I was with got a different kale dish and said it was awesome. The service was also great. I went there with two elderly people with mobility issues and the staff was really helpful in switching their chairs for more supportive ones(The restaurant has two kinds of chairs: ones with a low back, and ones with a high back.) it was a busy Saturday night but they found a way to make it happen. We were very grateful that they were so accommodating. There are a limited number of high back chairs though, so i recommend that if you need those that you let the restaurant know in advance so they can make sure to reserve them for you. Overall, a fantastic experience! I will definitely return!

My go to place for a more casual and healthy lunch, dinner or delivery. Also a great place to meet a friend to catch up over a juice. Ellary’s has a cute bar when you walk in that you can sit down at and have food or order a cold pressed juice or smoothie. I think this idea is so trendy and can’t wait until other restaurants in NYC have this as well. I have had almost everything on the menu here and can not get enough. Most of the ingredients are organic and they have many dairy free, gluten free and vegan options. The salads are delicious and filling. The juices are healthy and have unique ingredients(when compared to places like Liquiteria or Juice Generation). For example. I like that they have cilantro, cayenne pepper and aloe vera as ingredient options and are freshly made.

Pros: I have to say, this place makes really fantastic juice. Its a great atmosphere and the servers are very friendly. We had the salmon burger and Chicken Paillard. Had the raw chocolate mousse for dessert. Good energy. Cons: The portions are very small. The seats are also very small and tight. The Salmon Burger was quite good but the Chicken Paillard was not so great. I’d def go back for the juice.

3.5 stars — good food, but nothing exceptional. My friend and I had a reservation and were seated right away. The tables are tight, but not worse than, say, most restaurants in Chinatown. My friend had a watermelon juice, which was delicious. I also tried her Vietnamese brown rice noodles and they were very tasty. My chickpea burger with added avocado was good, but it was a lot of starchiness between the burger and the bun. I don’t know, maybe it’s just not my thing. Decent service and cool décor. Not at the top of my list to return to, but good enough if looking for the fare.

I had been wanting to try Ellary’s Greens for a while and am so glad I finally did. It’s a cute little place in the West Village with a great menu of healthy and delicious options. A friend and I shared a few different items: the brussel sprouts, cauliflower, beet salad and chickpea fries. My favorite item was definitely the beet salad, so good! Would love to go back and try more items and perhaps a smoothie. I also had the blood orange ice tea and she had the detox juice. We share the chocolate mousse that was AMAZING! I am a vegetarian and my friend is a gluten free vegan, so this place is perfect for us. The menu is clearly labeled with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

This was the perfect brunch spot — they have a great menu at reasonable prices, and it wasn’t busy or difficult to get seating for four. My group picked this place because they have good vegan options and clear labeling on the menu.

One of my best friends is gluten free + vegan so she always brings me to really good places that non vegan eaters can enjoy. This is probably my favorite out of the ones in NYC(more reviews to come yo). The ambience of the restaurant is also a nice change from the«concrete jungle,» with the wood, ceiling designs and plants. They have labels for all the things on their menu to let you know if they’re: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy-free. THEMASHEDPOTATOESAREAMAZING!!! They have olives in them and almonds, and they’re dairy free but somehow still amazing? Like who would expect mashed potatoes without butter and milk/cream being so tasty and fluffy??? I also recommend the roasted brussel sprouts and the stuffed pepper. Everything here is flavorful, fresh and healthy without breaking your bank: why I love it so much

We came here for brunch on a Sunday. I did notice there were mobs of people outside nearby Jack’s Wife Frida, while Ellary’s was half empty. We were unfortunately seated right on top of two other extremely chatty women– always a nuisance when there are plenty of other empty tables. I ordered the Grilled cheese, which was surprisingly petite– but pretty decent taste wise. The home fries were standard issue– nothing special. My husband had the bacon mac and cheese, which to me looked extremely greasy. He said it was edible but nothing to write home about. Service was standard, I’ve had better and worse. Menu wise they do have a decent amount of vegetarian options– however given it is super close to the Vegan Blossom Café, thus I would never choose to come here for the menu. It needs to be said that there chairs are not Cute! They are ridiculous. They are not remotely comfortable, and look like ‘time out chairs’ for tiny school kids. I understand they are short on space, but they really need to use proper chairs that adults can comfortably sit in and not get a back ache in.

Would have been 4 stars, but I just really can’t understand 4 fries for $ 8. Yes, they were made out of chickpeas, and yes, they were pretty fat fries, but they weren’t THAT big, and they shouldn’t have cost that much. I appreciate the attention paid to clean eating, and vegan options, but I can’t see how it was worth so much money. That being said, I could have probably made some better decisions in regards to my entrée. i got a sandwich in a gluten-free wrap, which was not enough food. The mushrooms were fresh, and tasty, but didn’t blow me away. My friend’s chicken was great – cooked well, juicy. But also pretty small. Our neighbors got some great, normal-sized portions of delicious-looking food. Better luck next time, I guess. I had read about the desserts on Unilocal, but didn’t get a chance to try them. I will add those to the list as well for next time. The service was great, and the environment is friendly and casual. I do recommend this place for a light meal. One of the best parts of the experience was leaving without feeling stuffed and guilty. I appreciate this wave of restaurants focused on helping people make healthier eating chioces.

Ellary’s Greens NY: Manahattan: East Village 4:30p Sunday 29th June 2015 Four Stars By 3:30pm they stopped serving brunch and they didn’t started serving dinner until 4pm. So we went to have a drink at nearby bar. When we returned at about 4:30pm, we waited a while by the door until finally someone came to help us. Our Waiter Ron was spectacular. He was friendly, attentive, funny, and made the whole experience worthwhile. He suggested the Rose so we enjoyed a bottle($ 45). We ordered a bunch of food. Crispy Roasted Chicken Breast with vegetable purée($ 14). There are few places that cook chicken worth ordering and this is one of those places. The skin was crispy. The meat was warm and moist. The lemon pepper profile was spot on. The vegetable purée was an unappetizing gray color but tasted alright. Grilled Salmon with a salad of cucumbers, fennel, tarragon, and lemon($ 15). The waiter asked«how do you want the salmon?» My friend Justin responded with«cooked.» I am assuming he was asking for the temperature but it always weirds me out. I feel that Salmon should be cooked to medium unless you are at a sushi restaurant. That being said this salmon was also deftly cooked: strong sear and glistening pink inside. The fennel was a bit overpowering for the fish dish since I am not a huge black licorice fan. Roasted Brussels Sprouts with butternut squash, walnuts, and orange zest($ 8). These baby cabbages were standardly good but I couldn’t taste the orange. Roasted Cauliflower with thyme, chili flakes, and lemon confit($ 8). Again the vegetable was tasty but bland I wanted more chili and more zest. Pan Roasted Sweet Potatoes with pickled zucchini & cilantro($ 7). Two center slices of roasted sweet potato were good but I could go home and make a cheaper, tastier, and more plentiful dish. The pickled zucchini was interesting, crisp, with a slight vinegar taste. Bacon Mac & Cheese with quinoa & corn pasta, gruyère, cheddar, kale, bacon, and onions($ 10). This dish came in a iron skillet which I always love bc it keeps the food warm. The pasta was good for not being made with wheat or semolina. The meat was bacon’s fancier cousin lardon. The cheese was melted with that nice crispy touch. The kale I guess added a touch of healthiness but it was such an after thought. The bottom of the pan was slightly burnt like a paella pan which was fun and delicious to pick at. Overall, a relaxing quasi healthy late lunch with good wine, tasty food, and even better company.

Ellary’s Greens is one of my favorite spots in the village for simple, healthy vegetable dishes that don’t skimp on flavor. In my opinion, the best way to think about the menu is «tapas style.» There are sandwiches, salads, and a few predetermined entrees… but the breakdown of the menu is really in favor of building your own plate that combines vegetables, roots/grains, and proteins. The menu is simple and easy to navigate, designating any and all dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten-free. So far I have tried: roasted brussels sprouts, red swiss chard, sauteed baby bok choy, and pan roasted sweet potatoes. My favorite dishes are the brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes; I have to hand it to Ellary’s Greens for preparing my two favorite foods so expertly. The sweet potatoes, cooked to perfection, are plated with cilantro and pickled cucumber, the latter of which seems like an odd pairing but it works well. Brussels sprouts come with a medley of toasted nuts and seasoned butternut squash. I have been to this restaurant numerous times since it opened a few years ago, mostly on my own to enjoy a relaxing solo dinner in the beautiful space. However, the few times I have brought company, I have been met with equally rave-worthy reviews. Ellary’s Greens is a great entry point for open-minded people who eat mostly meat, but don’t know how delicious vegetables can be. Above all, I share a similar mission statement with this place, in the sense that I believe in nourishing the body through food. I admire the dedication to farm fresh ingredients, warm service, and basic principles of wellness. My only lament is that building a meal here does cost a bit more than I’m willing to spend on an ordinary lunch or dinner… but I guess that’s what makes it more of an occasion spot. Most sides cost $ 7 – 8 and, depending how hungry you are, 2 or 3 constitutes a complete meal. Factoring in tax and tip, this can amount to a $ 20 – 30 meal per person. That is to say, I absolutely understand the price point, while simultaneously wishing I could afford it more regularly. Thank you Ellary’s, for your inspiring mission and your delicious food! I’ll be back soon.

Ellary’s Greens definitely stands out among other restaurants in the neighborhood with its warm, inviting atmosphere. The inside of the restaurant is very comforting at night with dim lights and lively chatter in a «think green» setting. I really like how Ellary’s Greens is all about sustainability and healthy eating at a reasonable price. I came with a friend for a late night snack after an event. We sat at the communal table in the front which was a nice change from other restaurants. The stools wer sat on were comfy & the menu was made of cardboard which was so cool. The service was a bit slow, and we waited a long time for someone to take our order. We ordered the Swiss chard salad to split and the raw vegan chocolate mousse. Both were absolutely divine and were good portions to share. The Swiss chard was amazing with the cremini mushrooms, both created an hearty, earthy flavor offset by just the right amount the pine cream. The pine nuts were a nice extra crunch to the salad as well. The raw vegan chocolate mousse was a great way to end the night. Unfortunately, the 1st mousse we ordered had a short hair(neither of us had short hair) in and was not well presented. Luckily, our waiter quickly brought us a new one right away. I am glad this did not ruin my experience because the mousse was a very unique experience to try. The coconut whipped cream was perfect, not an overbearing, sweet flavor because I am not a fan of coconut. The mousse portion was rich, dense, and cool I can’t believe it is raw! I will definitely come back to Ellary’s and try a sandwich, I also hope I can run into Leith Hill as well.

I came here with a few girlfriends for happy hour. House wine(Bordeaux and Riesling) and house juice(cuke, ginger, and mint) were tasty. Smoked devil eggs were also nice. Love the simple touches and rockin’ ceiling. Waiters were nice, but there seemed to be too many for the crowd during this time frame. On the younger side. Would come back again to try some more food and juices!
