Had dinner here on a Friday night before Valentines day. Place was empty, so we were a bit concerned, but it was late, and we had just checked in and were hungry. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. I had the Salmon(which I don’t normally eat) and it was very nicely done. Good wine selection as well. Maybe because it’s tucked into the back of the Hotel Lobby, there isn’t as much walk-by traffic, but I would eat there again if in the area.

As soon as we walked in the reception desk guy was so very rude. He was so put out we bought the room third party( ) on the fly. Had my 10 year old son with me for his bday and he really wanted to stay at W. I mistakenly didn’t book the Broadway location. Ordinarily through Amex platinum we just call and go to a Westin. Room was filthy AC didn’t work Had a nasty stain on the duvet I used to stay at W’s always when I was younger, it’s too bad they have let it go downhill. I typically don’t review, but this W was sorry to say the least.

Got robbed! Server automatically gave us Orange juice and Coffee. Do not let them just pour it on your glass. It’s gonna cost you $ 6 for Tropicana juice and $ 5 for cheap coffee. It’s gonna cost you $ 22 for 2 people for that. They are way overpriced! I do not recommend this place at all. Do not come here.

Plain and simple… I expected more. My friends and I had cocktails and food here Sunday night as we were staying at the hotel. Our friends had just flown in from LA and it was snowing. We both have little ones so we decided to stay in. Prior to our arrival, I’d emailed Concierge inquiring as to whether or not there were family friendly restaurants around us. They listed a few places(they weren’t at all family friendly) and said that Heartbeat was completely family friendly. Upon entering, we were given awful looks. There was NOBODY in there so we took a few of the chairs. My son was sleeping and our friends daughter was awake but about to eat dinner. Nobody was crying. Nobody was screaming or throwing a tantrum. The waitress came over to take our order. Not one«Hi». No «how are you?». Just a glare and«are you ready?» We brushed it off figuring maybe it was a bad night. I ordered the Champagne Mojito and we all shared the turkey meatball sliders, tapas plate, and bruschetta. My drink was SUGARY sweet. I expected it to be mellow. NOTATALL. It really didn’t have any flavor either — just sugar and very syrupy! I couldn’t taste the mint or the champagne. I was immediately slammed with an overpowering sweetness. My girlfriend had the Lemongrass concoction — also very sweet. I think the bartender went heavy on the simple syrup. Blech. The food was OK. Nothing to write home about. The turkey meatball was soggy — a clear sign it was all filler, no meat. The bruschetta bread was soggy and completely fell apart at the first bite. The tapas plate was SO small — smaller than normal tapas. It was only olives, cheese, and almonds. I may return to give it another shot and order different items, but my first impression wasn’t a good one.

I went here with a group of co-workers when we were staying overnight in NYC for some work meetings. It was close to our hotel and there was a blizzard going on so it wasn’t too far of a walk. My boss recommended it as he knows I try to eat healthy and also vegetarian, so he thought this place would have some good items that I’d like. We looked online at the menu and I found several things that looked really good, so the group of us went and were seated in a nice large round table at the corner of the restaurant. They had a great set up for us for such a large group. Luckily since there was a blizzard they were not crowded and we were seated quickly. I really appreciated the large round table compared to the long table arrangement — it can be frustrating at a long table as you end up with just a series of mini-conversations versus a really engaged group discussion. Anyway, the round table was a definitely plus. I was disappointed however that the menu we were handed when we arrived was nothing like the menu that we saw online. My boss joined us for dinner later and also expressed surprise that the menu had changed. I guess the lesson here for my Unilocal friends is that if you look for the online menu for Heartbeat you might want to confirm that the menu items you are interested in are really available. We got a a large assortment of appetizers for the table. Most were so-so but the bacon mac & cheese was especially delish. I just had a small spoonful of this as we just ordered one for the whole table but it was oh-so good … I’m not a strict vegetarian & do it mostly for health so sometimes I’ll make exceptions from my vegetarianism for bacon! Yum. Overall the meal was really good. Definitely it was pricey. Wine was pricey by the glass — one of the cheaper glasses available was about $ 13 … compare that to what you might normally pay for a glass of wine at other establishments, and you’ll understand how pricey the place is. Overall it was really nice, but if I were in the area looking for a place to eat, I’d probably pass it by next time and look for something else.

I had a creepy situation. 1st. There were cloths left in the drawers of the room. I called the front desk. They said they would send security to collect the clothes. I waited and waited, finally brought the cloths down myself. 30 minutes later a knock on the door and someone opened the door with the security key. I had the deadbolt on so they could not enter, but it was completely Inappropriate for security to enter my room before I answered the door. Front desk was helpful and it was clear that the security person was not trained well but completely unnerving. Crazy. W should be better than this for service

this is not the whiskey blue, but the other lounge/bar they have to the right form the main entrance. unlike some of the other W’s this place is pretty forgettable. the only reason I have been here more than once is because it is across the street from my office; and we occasionally stop in here for happy hour(s). the drinks here are strong, and combined with the fact that most of the time they don’t serve food here– it can get you in trouble. the chairs here are pretty weird too. they are deep and somewhat soft. definitely not made for sitting. sleeping maybe?

Breakfast Review: Dated dining room. Birch color furniture is so 80s. It could easily be holiday inn. You get W service and the quality when it comes to food. I was offered a complimentary New York Times. Warmth is the porridge(oatmeal) with all the bells and whistles(almonds, cranberries, sultanas, brown sugar). Good portions. Meditation music /sound playing in the background… Very soothing. I would revamp the restaurant though I don’t see anybody would want to go there for the ambiance.

Great hotel I had no problems but when it came to going to the business center it was 9 dollars for 15 minutes. RIDICULOUS

Overpriced for what you get. Boring menu, boring adaptations of the things on the menu. Service can be snooty at times. Really underwhelming, 2 stars.

In my former life as a hedge funder this was my favorite place to go to happy hour. Sit in the lounge, but order snacks in the dining room. Oddly, don’t miss the french fries. Bring your own good company, everyone I’ve spoken to there that wasn’t someone I came with was seriously pretentious and irritating.

(Lounge area only) Love the ambiance of the candles, cozy chairs, brightly-colored pillows and stumpy side tables. Service was great — the waitress was on the ball, friendly, and fast. My wine was $ 11 for a delicious glass, which isn’t anything I haven’t paid before. My sister’s bottle of Stella Artois, however, was $ 9. What, did a mermaid princess piss on the bottle before it was delivered?

Came in here for breakfast before flying out of NY. I’m giving this place 4 stars — simply because instead of asking«Coffee or Water»… they ask«Coffee, Water, or FRESHSQUEEZEDORANGEJUICE!»(not part of the bill). The rest of my food was good. I had the Eggs Benedict. I’m not a breakfast person, but give me enough ketchup and I’ll eat breakfast food.

I will preface this by saying that I did not pay for my breakfast that I had here — my company did. Having said that, I had a great meal here. I had the pastel scrambled eggs, which were very delicious. They had sundried tomatoes and a few other veggies in them. If I thought that I could replicate them, I would. The potatoes were also good. My other coworkers had French toast, oatmeal, a fruit platter, 2 omelets and bacon and eggs. From everyone diving in to their food, I assume that they also liked their meals. The décor was nice and open and the service was attentive. Of course, the food was expensive because it’s in a hotel and it’s New York. If I couldn’t expense my food, I probably wouldn’t come here. The food was good, just not for the price.

I will use the first two lines to mention the positive things about Heartbeat at the W. Heartbeat is very pretty — the decour is great and the salsa blaring from the radios is awesome. The service is effective and very fast — they kept my water glass filled. Now I’d like to write the rest of the review. I would like you to go to your bank account and withdraw 100 dollars from it. I would then like you to take that 100 dollars and put it between two pieces of bread. You then will give that sandwich to a well dressed man who standing outside your ATM. The well dressed man will take your sandwich into a dark corner away from your vision. Wait. Nearby, a salsa music group will take their station and begin to play. Feel free to tap your foot if the mood strikes you. While you wait, ponder your life. Think about your work. If you’re with your SO, talk to them about their lives. Are you both so busy that you haven’t connected in awhile? Take this time to get close again and discover the new pains, excitment, wonderment that is in their lives. Forget about yourself for a minute. Focus on them. The well dressed man will return with your sandwich. The sandwich will have changed color but it will be prettied up. In fact, the sandwich will be so pretty that you’ll think that your 100 dollar bill is no longer in it. The well dressed man will offer the sandwich back to you. The salsa band with play one of their orgasmic hits. You will take a bit of that sandwich. And as the music reaches it’s peak, you will then realize that the sandwich has been replaced with an old gym sock. It tastes… strange and it’s hard to tell that it’s an old gym sock because it’s masked in spices, lemon juices, and the like. You’ll hold it out infront of you and ask your SO if it looks like a pretty sandwich. He/She will say that it does. You will look at it. It’ll still look like a pretty sandwich. You will take another bite. It’s still an old gym sock. And your 100 hundred dollar bill is gone. The well dressed man is gone. And the band has been replaced by an umbrella stand. Do you really want to go someplace that feeds you old gym socks? I don’t think so.

A really hip and chic place to hang out if you trying to find something different than just a lounge. It connects to a restaurant where they have great food as well! The whole ambiance is like cozy living room that is a loft size and lots of lots of candles everywhere! It just gives everyone a wonderful glow… if you know what i mean! :)

I love Heartbeat. I went there last Thursday for dinner and had a wonderful time. The W hotel was trendy, lounge music was chill and relaxing. We were seated promptly and was greeted by our friendly waiter. The bread plate was very tasty and creative. It came with four different kinds of rolls — onion, pine nuts(too dry), jalapenos pepper, and corn bread. For our main course, we ordered the pear salad, pork tenderloin, flank steak with rice, and a side of beans and rice. Everything was delicious and served hot. The only small complaint/suggestion I have is that their menu is relatively limited and needs to be expanded or changed once in a while. Regardless, all of their dishes seem delicious, and I would like to go back again and try them. Will recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re around midtown east area!

Don’t set your cell phone to any new age ring tones because when it goes off everybody will think their phone is ringing. I think I still have my old Nehru jacket and when I come back I am going to wear it. We came here for breakfast. Pretend you are in an old episode of Kung Fu dining in the temple with a thousand lit candles. My friend had yogurt, fresh fruit, whole wheat toast and wheat grass juice. I have started to save the clippings from my lawn and figure I’ll make a fortune shipping them here. I had the eggs and an English muffin. The food is good, with a definite emphasis on healthy fare.
