Business lunch. Professional yet personal service, great food(I had the Ahi Tuna Burger, rare, and it was perfect) and the price was shockingly low. Goodbye Bar Americain. When I’m in this neighborhood, this will be my go-to spot. Same quality food, a more laid back atmosphere but still very nice, and half the price. A real value for NYC.

My friend and I had a quiet lunch on Saturday noon at Harding’s and we were surprised about the relaxing atmosphere while nearby places were crowded and noisy. My Cobb Salad was delicious as well as my friends pancakes.

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Harding’s and it was the best imaginable venue. From the outset, Jill was lovely and easy to communicate with. She walked us through the space and reviewed how they have arranged similar events in the past. It was clear when discussing details that they are experienced at hosting weddings. I booked our date confident that we would be in good hands. The space is beautiful — tall ceilings, tasteful finishes — everything feels very cozy and intimate. The layout is perfect for a small ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner/dancing. It was able to accommodate our 85-guest wedding with room to spare and would probably be perfect for a 100-guest wedding. There’s a private room toward the back that makes for a great bridal suite/staging area as well as a mezzanine that overlooks the entire floor. Ken ran the show on the big day and things could not have gone more smoothly. There were so many moving pieces, it’s a testament to all the Harding’s staff that my family and I felt like we floated through the day without a single hitch. Everyone working the event was so warm and kind and made us and our guests feel so attentively looked after. And last but certainly not least, the food and drinks were spectacular! Amazing hors d’oeuvres and dinner stations, perfectly mixed cocktails, great wine pairings from a well curated selection, marvelous desserts. Our guests raved about the food and drinks. My husband and I still daydream about it. Thank goodness we can go back and enjoy it any time. If you are looking for a beautiful event carried off without fuss, if you enjoy basking in the uniquely satisfied buzz of a roomful of happy, well-fed people, Harding’s should be at the top of your venue list.

I have been here twice, cocktail is way too overpriced and nothing special. Place gets really noise… Food was not bad but not a big menu selection, also overpriced. — Octopus & Potato Salad: was the only thing on the menu caught my attention — Tuna Tartar: normal — Griddle Cake: not bad, like fluffy pancake

More upscale than casual in my opinion. Came here for drinks with a girl, the ambiance is really nice, low lighting date feel. Service was amazing from bartender to waitress. She recommended a great drink for the girl and was on top of everything. Drinks were strong(old fashion) a bit pricey but it’s NYC. Food was amazing. Had the salmon and was cooked perfectly. Had the meatballs for apps. Although good, bit pricey for 3 small meatballs… Save room for dessert, they have a good selection. Definitely a good first date spot rather than casual spot.

I’ve been here three times, twice for drinks and once for a lunch. Let me set the scene: I have people from Salesforce trying to woo me. I tell them it isn’t going to happen right now, but they keep trying none the less. They ask me if I can grab a bite or drink. I tell them I can do a lunch, so I recommend Harding’s which is around the corner. I really should’ve just opted for Gramercy Tavern looking back. I’m an idiot. The account lead orders the Cobb Salad. My contact orders some sort of Grilled Shrimp Salad and I, the Lobster Burger because why not have a heavy lunch before a company holiday party that’s going to take place at a BBQ joint in five hours? Let’s just say the food was disappointing. The Cobb Salad looked pedestrian. The slaw on the shrimp looked like it was pre-shred out of a SYSCO bag. The carrots had a whiteness too them which indicates them being a bit dry which only happens when they’re shredded and left to contact the air. My Lobster Burger wasn’t warm. It was mashed like a tuna salad and the bun wasn’t even toasted. Are you god-damn kidding me? You couldn’t butter and toast my bun? It’s lunch hour, there were less than a dozen people in the restaurant. Come on, I’m not asking a hand-made mille feuille. On the bright side, I got a good instagram out of it… because I made sure we sat by the window, and I taught the Salesforce reps to model food — «smile through your hands…»

Pretty big bar for NY standard. Place does get super crowded after work, so get here early to grab those covenant bar seats. Really loved the Harding’s sour, which is an egg white drink and you get a choice of liquor that you want to add. Got a little hungry, so we got some pretzels. No frills pretzel bites, but they came out hot and fresh. Would definitely come back here again for the Harding’s sour.

I was looking for a nice cozy not overly pretentious cool place to wine and dine(hold the wine) my man muffin. Perfect for a business lunch, everyone lunching looked like they came out of one of the nearby business offices. The menu has a good variety, salads, sandwiches, etc, and not crazy expensive(can get out without paying more than $ 20). The restaurant has tables in the back, a nice bar in the middle and a lounge type seating in the front with these fancy cushy seats, which of course is what we opted for. I ordered the Santa Cruz salad and it was really good, light and lots of fresh veggies and my bf ordered the short rib sandwich, which I tried, and was very good and a generous portion. Would like to come back at night for the bar scene!

This is a review for Harding’s as a potential wedding /private event space. My fiancé and I just wrapped up a venue hunt looking for a spot to hold a smallish(70 – 80), nontraditional(aka not in a traditional banquet hall-type venue) wedding, and Harding’s was one of our top two choices. Jill was fantastic to work with – she answered my many emails quickly and kindly, sent me menus and seating charts for a variety of different kinds of seating/food service options, and she met me in person for a detailed tour with a few hours’ notice. The venue is beautiful(go see for yourself!), and is built in such a way that a wedding would work great there – there’s a bridal suite-type room off to one side, there’s a cool balcony that overlooks the whole restaurant, the décor is striking but understated, the restaurant is large and spacious, and, as evidenced by Jill explaining potential ceremony seating layouts to me, they clearly know how to put on weddings in that space. Though we ultimately ended up going with another venue, it was a truly tough call to make. If you’re looking for a venue for a wedding or private event, check out Harding’s!

Well absolutely a must great venue for a meal with the wife Orr friends, we went on a Tuesday night it was such a great night had a few cocktail’s to warm us up for our food went straight for a main as didn’t want to get full with a I went for the classic braised short rib with mash which was so tender and fell apart a must for meat eaters my better half went for the chicken which was nice a moist with artichoke and season vegetables she loved it the chicken was as little large for my wife so I helped her out. the service was fantastic the waiter Tommy kept us entertained and also bought us a glass of Malbec which was a nice touch. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting good honest food served well, great place great staff well done guys.

Great atmosphere and very attentive service. Ambience 4⁄5 — Not too bright or too dim Décor 5⁄5 — Very classy Service 5⁄5 — Accommodating waitress Food 4⁄5 — crispy steamy fries and bread Drinks 4⁄5 — good selection of beer and cocktails Value 3⁄5 Cost 3⁄5 Bathroom 4⁄5 Good place for catching up with a small group of friends(2 – 4) and a perfect spot for an intimate date. High ceiling + old fashion décor, if classic is what you are looking for then this place is for you. Soft lighting and relaxing mood will keep you and your buddies talking and perhaps exposing one too many secrets … but the good kind :)

Cool spot if you fancy a night out that’s a little less romantic and more laid back, perfect for small or larger groups . Staff are extremely attentive and make you feel very welcome . Food is solid. I would suggest the Short Rib as the winner . What happened to the beef wellington? I want to try this dish !

Chose this spot as a central meeting point to meet up with some 15 or so friends. We started off in the bar area where my friends were happy to learn that one of the bartenders was ranked as one of the top 10 mixologists in the city! We had plans to go elsewhere for dinner however it was raining pretty heavily on that day and asked the host if there was any way possible we could stay for dinner as well. Luckily for us there was a cancellation and they graciously placed us not in the main dining room. but one of their private rooms! This really was perfect for us because we had our own space to walk around; we could even hook up our phones to play our own music! The waiters/waitresses were so friendly and patient with us; even offering to split our bill at the end which is UNHEARD of in NYC and even more rare for a group of 15 plus people. Not only was the service exceptional, but the food was great too. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. The standouts out of what we ordered were the Fig Toast(would absolutely order this again), the Farm Raised Chicken(artichoke was the perfect complement to the well seasoned chicken), and our friend wouldn’t stop raving about the Atlantic Branzini. Will definitely be back!

Tucked away in the cool south Gramercy Park/East Chelsea pocket, Hardings is a classic rustic, yet sophisticated Americana restaurant in a former industrial/commercual space with a large wall of windows, high ceilings, exposed brick, mezzanine, side rooms all decorated with classic Americana furniture, fittings and decorations. The white table cloths still shown on their website are gone and replaced with hand finished wood tables which are more casual and works better in the space. It also has a great, vibrant, yet sophisticated, chill bar and lounge area which brings up the energy in the place. The staff are intelligent, high energy, friendly professionals. . The food, wow, just look at the menu and you’ll see a fabulous selection of American inspired and sourced food and beverage choices, which makes me proud. Strong drinks, vibrant, yet chill bar scene makes this place somewhere I will return to again. I hear the brunch is terrific There is allegedly a large Civil War flag on the wall but it was hard to see how many stars were on the flag. The manager Steve and i had a discussion on this matter. Steve if there are 33 stars, you’re flag is legit!

I came here for Mad Men Week so I’m not sure if these dishes are on their regular menu. Bread Basket: Looove their bread because they were mostly breakfast croissants and filled croissants. They were fresh and warm and tastyyyy. Oh yeah, their bread is $ 5 extra if you want more. Oyster Rockefeller: Tasty baked oysters. They are cripsy on top with some bacon bits. They only came with two, though. =\ Beef Wellington: They said it was filet mignon on the menu but I am skeptical? Maybe just not a good piece of tenderloin. Anyway, the flavor was really good and nicely seasoned. I with the dough was thinner as the dough got really mushy towards the middle. I didn’t end up eating that. The creamed spinach that came with it was a little too salty so I definitely had to pair it with the meat. Not sure if I will return here, though. The service was pretty slow. There weren’t many customers and a ton of servers standing around in a group. Not sure what they were doing. Took forever to take my order.

Great ambiance! The high ceilings, the décor. Great brunch spot — very rustic Americana. We came for Mad Men Week — where some restaurants have vintage inspired menus. We were really looking forward to the Beef Wellington, a fad that unfortunately ceases to exist in most restaurants.(Please message me if you know any good Beef Wellington restaurants in NY!) So we both ordered the Oysters Rockefeller with Spinach, Bread Crumbs, and Bacon and the Beef Wellington(Filet Mignon, Mushrooms, Liver Pâté wrapped in Philo Dough) with Creamed Spinach. Out of the two oysters I got, one of them was extremely fishy and not fresh. My dining partner had the same happen to him. What are the odds? I’m skeptical that it was coincidence… Seriously, get some fresh oysters. I know it’s not a seafood place, but why would you put something on the menu that you know you can’t serve fresh? Next the Beef Wellington. Maybe it was our fault for getting our hopes up. But we expected the mustard sauce and prosciutto. Instead we got a decent cook on the filet mignon coupled with a mix of mushrooms and pâté(could barely taste it, it was barely there) wrapped in a soggy crêpe dough(I think this one might be the plating on top of the creamy spinach). The spinach was good, but the Beef Wellington should’ve been the star. Our waiter was also incredibly slow. I’m guessing by the size of the place that they might be understaffed. Either that or our waiter is just inadequate, which is more depressing. Overall, extremely disappointed. Their regular menu looks like traditional brunch, so maybe they do that decently. But based on their showing with this new menu, I wouldn’t come back. There wasn’t many choices either. If you can’t master a four item special event menu, then you shouldn’t have offered it at all, imo.

Food: Good Service: Very good Atmosphere: Very good Went to Harding on Saturday night for dinner. Was very pleasantly surprised the place has a very interior concept. My party was late so I sat down at the bar. The bartender was as nice as can be. When everyone showed up we were seated immediately. The staff was so friendly and polite. I ordered veal meatball as the appetizer they came in a really great tomato sauce but on their own were a little bland but they were cooked perfectly. For my main course I ordered the short rib again it was cooked perfectly but was a little bland. For my dessert i tried the apple crisp honestly this was a little disappointing. All in all a good experience.

It’s always a treat to find a place in New York that feels like you’re entering another era and/or city. Harding’s nails its ambiance/décor. I couldn’t tell you what time period/city it feels like, but it’s trendy yet old-timey-y. It almost feels like it was converted from an old hotel lobby. Whatever you’re doing, Harding’s, it’s working. I came here for dinner at 7:45 on a Friday night. I made a revervation through OpenTable, though we could’ve sat right down at that time. Gotta get the OpenTable points, ya know(I know, it’s a sad life I lead). By 8:30/9, this place picked up a LOT. Though Harding’s is a restaurant first, I get the sense it’s popular for its classic cocktails as well — it seemed like a lot of the traffic was due to drinks. That all said, it still managed to stay mellow. This establishment is pretty spacious, so it can accommodate the Friday night crowd. Service here was top-notch. Our waiter was attentive, personable and just a joy in general. Not only was he a nice complement to the establishment, but two different hosts visited our table during our time there. One host would have done just fine, but two! Wow, feeling that hospitality game pretty hard. I always appreciate when a host checks on patrons. Even if it’s just restaurant protocol, the extra effort — especially in New York, where it often feels like the establishments are trying to press fast forward on the dining experience at any given turn — is a really nice touch. Food: We both cleaned our plates. My friend got the pasta special, and I ordered the salmon. I’m sure I’ve written about salmon before — it’s my kryptonite — and Harding’s didn’t disappointed. Salmon was pan-roasted, prepared with sauteed kale, braised farro citrus vinaigrette. Would *highly* recommend if you’re a salmon fan. Wow. They cook it medium. If that’s not your preparation of choice, I’m sure you could ask for it differently — this is the first establishment I’ve been to that actually informs you of the preparation beforehand, which I appreciated. This was a true five-star experience. Come for the ambiance, stay for the rest.
