I love this place! I’ve been coming here since I was really young and glad this place is still here. This place is Hong Kong style food and inexpensive. I love pork chop over rice, satay noodles soup, and their good ol Ham and egg sandwiches! Wash it all down with milk tea.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. A lot has changed since then: they’ve renovated several times, upgraded their menu several times. But most importantly, their staff remained relatively the same throughout. They still serve amazingly delicious and cheap cantonese style brunch. I usually order their simple ham ramen, soup of the day, and their ham and egg sandwich. This place is a great breakfast/lunch spot for some cheap delicious cantonese style food.

This place has decent food and the service is quick! I forgot to mention that the prices is pretty good. Atmosphere of the restaurant is very casual. They are friendly and they are quick. The name of the restaurant serves a good title of the happy family express.

Tried the spam and egg noodle today it was really good in fact, very cheap fast food and small café hidden near Canal and Division. Not too bust around 1pm.

You have to be adventurous to find this place. Nosy as well. Ordered the fish omelete on spagetti. Left with a better mood.

Love small cafes like this where service is fast and food is delicious. Great Hong Kong style café with breakfast foods such as toast with condensed milk and ham and egg sandwiches. These cafes are sparse nowadays which makes this more of a gem. Really great to stop by for a quick bite.

Sometimes cheap meals are the best meal. It’s simple yet hit the right spot! I enjoyed dining at Mom And Pop restaurants because it’s unique. They usually focus on small specific dish. The menu may have about six main course and small side orders, but it’s guaranteed, that each course it’s worth to try. The décor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to shine. Grilled Pork Chops: The flavor of the grilled pork chop balanced well with the white rice and preserved radish. The servings are big and of course not pricey at all. Pork chops are well done, yet still very juicy looking when on plating. Vegetables: Usually, plain boil lettuce is placed under the pork chops over the rice. The sauce and fat that drip out of the pork chops are very fatty but yet tasty. Services: It’s more of a self-serve type of dining. Quick, cheap kind of meal.

Freshly & quickly made, cheap and yummy. The steam and hiss of grilling meat, eggs, bubbling soup made the mouth water and was welcoming on a cold day. Plus, the ladies working the counter yesterday were pretty nice to this non-Chinese-speaking Asian. Got an order of pork with preserved veg over rice(nice thick slices of pork — and fat) and beef with satay sauce over rice. Very satisfying.

The food here is delicious and its fairly quick. The pork chop and chicken over rice is my favorite. I come here two to three times a week for lunch. Highly recommend this place for lunch. They also have noodle soup on the menu. And they also serve breakfast.

If you want something quick, here is the place to go. I decided to go with vegetable & fried egg spaghetti. It is what it says. Just a few pieces of lettuce with two fried eggs on top of steamed spaghetti. There is soysauce that comes with the dish. Just quick, comfort Chinese food. They have soup noodles, special toasts(ham&egg, spam&egg, condensed milk toast), congee, steamed rice roll, fried spaghetti, fried rice, steamed rice, and fried noodle dishes. For breakfast, there are combos that comes with a drink. I’d be back for that.

Came back to this place after 3 months, and surprisingly they add on a lot of different variety. Now they have all kinds of steam rice, and fried rice, just love this place, it’s always pack…

My friend took me here so I had no idea what to expect… Happy Café is a rather rundown local place than what you’d expect a Chinese«café» to look like. Perhaps I was just imagining this place to be a HK-style café like Cha Chan Tang(which is also located in Chinatown), so my fault for that. Nevertheless, the food is dirt cheap and service is extremely quick and friendly. More to say, this place is pretty clean despite its appearance. This is the definite go-to place for a quick cheap bite.

Had the lunch special of the day which was curry chicken over rice. Decent portions of curry chicken and a lot of rice for around $ 4.50. There was also some sort of pickled veggies on the rice, which tasted blah. The chicken was surprisingly tender but the curry was just ok. Nothing special at all. Also had the pork chop over rice dish($ 3.75). Good amount of pork chops and few leaves of iceberg lettuce. Wasn’t bad, but again, nothing special. The pricing is great tho; really cheap. They also go a bunch of «sandwiches», mostly breakfast sandwiches on white bread without the crust. They got egg and ham, etc. Not huge, but if you’re looking for a fast cheap breakfast, this is it. The sandwiches are seriously cheap at around $ 1 — $ 2 depending on what you get. They have typical hong kong breakfast fare too. This place aint great, but for a quick cheap meal, it does the job.

This place is a staple of mines. I have to have this at least once a month if not more. Surprised there are no reviews for this place. What I normally get is their grilled chicken and pork chop over instant noodles(rice option as well). It usually comes with picked vegetables. All this for less than $ 5! The menu is comparable to all other cafes around Chinatown. They have herbal tea too!
