The review is for delivery only. I have been feeling a bit under the weather for the past few days and working late does not help, so for dinner, I have been ordering soup and sandwich from H&H and it made me feel so much better! It does get a bit pricey, but the company I work for has a generous dinner allowance so ordering large soup, or even a quart and a full sandwich, is still within the limit. I tried turkey with smoked gouda sandwich and it’s yum!

I love hale and Hearty in general, but this location the staff is extremely rude. Went in few times(just because its right by my office) and always got the worst customer service possible. Whoever manages this place needs to change something around.

I already provided a review of one of their other locations. Just inserting this note to help folks find it. The stated address leads you to the Barclays building but this Hale and Hearty is not actually located inside that building. Exit the Barclays building on your right which puts you on 49th, then make a left and it’s just past the Yankees store.

Excellent service, staff are very welcoming. Salad is always fresh and quick. Shrimp bisque is amazing. Love this particular hale&hearty.

I love the Soups and Salads here. I am addicted to the pre-made Chicken Cesar salad, the dressing is delicious. I usually order the 10 vegetable soup or the Black bean turkey lentil. Just delicious! But a few weeks ago, I had a taste of their Boston shrimp chowder. I don’t think I have ever had a soup that delicious. I gave them four stars, because they don’t keep my favorite soups on the menu daily. Otherwise it would have been five stars. Delivery is fast in my neighborhood too.

Very good shrimp and corn chowder. Could use more seating! Wide selection of soups and make your own salad. Love it. All made from scratch !

DONOTORDERONLINE! I have had two cards compromised, my colleague has had over 1,400 charged to her credit card from a company in Japan and two of my other colleagues have had their credit cards comprised. I called the customer service and they seem to be aware that customer financial information on line has had a security breach but there has been no communication to their customers. If you do not want your credit card information stolen DONOTORDERONLINE! I give them one star because the soup is great.

Be wary ordering online. Collegues have had their card info stolen from their personal website when ordering delivery. Use Seamless or any other ordering method if you need it delivered. Called their accounting department, and they revealed they did have a comprise in their security. Said it’s fixed now… but you never know. Eek!

Everyone at work brags about this place, so I had to go. It’s literally a block away, next to Gregory’s, Dunkin Donuts and Food World. I must have walked by Hale & Hearty so many times and just haven’t noticed at all. The store itself is pretty nice, but a little small. There wasn’t too big of a line for lunch, which was really nice. At my company, you usually don’t take lunch. After all, we work in NYC, the city that never sleeps, we can’t afford 1 hour lunches away from our desk! Anyway, I ended up getting the half sandwich and half soup. They allow you to sample the soups which is really nice. I tried the Butternut Squash and immediately fell in love with it. Got my soup picked out. As for the sandwich, I went for a classic, turkey with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Can’t really mess that up. Not a big fan of the service here. The guy taking my order was trying to be funny, but it didn’t really work out. I asked for the half soup-half sandwich combo and he said it would be $ 10. I looked at him and I said«You mean $ 7? The sign says $ 7.» He just ended up laughing. The combo was actually $ 7 when it was rung up by the cashier. It was just a weird experience. I got back to my desk and as always, ate while typing away at my computer. The soup was still delicious, but a lot heavier now that I had a half a cup of soup. That by itself was filling for me. One thing I was disappointed with was my lack of crackers. They include this big bag of crackers in with your soup and I didn’t get one. Sad too because the crackers were good and they went well with the butternut squash(my co-worker had some and shared with me). The sandwich was at best mediocre. Granted, I got something simple, but that doesn’t mean it should taste bland. One thing I suggest is that they heat up their sandwiches. Mine was a bit cold and it would’ve appealed to me much more if it was just a tad warmer. Overall, it’s a decent place to go for lunch. Not a long line, which is what makes it really attractive in my opinion. Prices are decent and the soup is good. Might come back again to try more of their soups. And hopefully they’ll remember my crackers…

One of my go to places when I have to be in northern Times Square. Quick and easy lunch, my usual is soup and half sandwich if it’s a little cold, or just a sandwich if it’s a warm day. They always have a few stable soups(chicken noodle…) and those are fine, but make sure to check out the rotating or special soups. There are sometimes some great ones(Thai peanut chicken and a lemony lentil one both come to mind). Of course sample a few and get it right!

Soup was great as usual. They give you free soup crackers with you soup and the soup is nice and hot. So don’t burn your tongue. This is a new location so I highly recommend for lunch.

Best salad to go place for me! Fresher ingredients and better service than Chop’t and Just Salad! No line or only short line around lunch time.

So, I’ve obviously been in NYC for too long when I see the price tag of $ 11 for lunch and just shrug… Had a large(upgraded from the small) soup today with half of a balsamic chicken and avocado sandwich. The creamy corn and tomato soup was really delicious(and piping hot), and the sandwich was edible, but not particularly flavorful. It ended up costing about $ 11, but the ingredients they used were tasty and for a few extra dollars, hot soup on a cold day is worth it.

Sandwiches are meh, and this location has no toaster to warm it up if you want. A soup & sandwich shop… without a toaster??? Lame!

Hale and hearty is a staple. The soup options are endless and they are consistently kicking winter sniffles one pint at a time. The bisques are always creamy and comforting on a cold rainy day. Though these can get a bit heavy sometimes so be warned. The chicken noodle is my favorite of the soups that are made everyday. It has chunks of white meat chicken and immediately makes you want to snuggle under a blanket. I didn’t give them five stars because their sandwich options could use a little work and they are a bit pricey for soup. However when I have a soup craving, they are my go-to.

Hale and Hearty make really tasty soups, salads, and sandwiches, and they’re a really good corporate lunch staple. This location is fit out nicely with big windows on 49th St. That said, its also very narrowly laid out, so do get in nice and cozy with your neighbors. This location is on par with other H&H’s with consistent food, fast service, and pricing. There is almost no seating here, which is a shame since its such a pretty location. Oh well.

Food is of a similar quality to every single other H&H up in this place(aka«New York Sizzle» aka«Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made, Oh») and the lunch rush is comparable to what you’ll find elsewhere in this office-worker-dominated area. Which is to say that from noon to 1:30pm, it gets totally jammed. H&H offers free sample tastes of their soups, which is nice for the misanthropes ahead of me on line who have never had chicken noodle soup before, but sort of annoying given that it adds time to the whole get-food-asafp-and-return-to-desk strategy. Don’t bother with the sandwiches.

Delicious soups that taste as fresh as you can get, followed by sandwiches and made-to-order salads. Watch out around lunch time, but this place is definitely worth a trip! You can sample any of the soups, and as many as you’d like. I had the shrimp bisque with half a turkey, apple, brie sandwich. A small soup and the half sandwich is just under $ 9. Both were delicious and there was tons of crab in the soup. An extra bonus was that there were no mystery shell pieces present. My friend had the curried chicken soup with half a roasted turkey sandwich and it was also delicious. Full of vegetables and not too spicy. I wish locations were open a bit later for second rounds for dinner, but as most close around 6pm you can plan ahead and enjoy.
