Tasty Seafood Fra Diavolo… it’s in the Simmers menu… and the seafood in is there! I also enjoy the soups and salads and if you use your level up app you get rewards.

The food is ok, but the reason for the 5 star review is the staff. They are the nicest fast food staff i have ever seen. The manager will actually go around and make sure everyone is doing ok and see if customers need anything.

Too expensive for mass-produced soups. They also don’t make much of an effort to offer more than one vegetarian or vegan option. Should be pretty easy for a soup place to do.

The soups here can be dynamite, but the chicken chili I had today was off. Not to mention you’re paying out the wazoo for a measly cup of soup and a half a sandwich if you do the combo(almost $ 12.00). Too many other lunch places around here that offer more reasonable deals to come back here again.

Yum. I can’t wait to go back to this place as a little lunch treat. First of all, I went around 12 and it wasn’t packed — I didn’t have to wait on line at all. I even told the guy behind the counter I had never been here before and he was very friendly. So was the woman behind the soup section! I ordered the mozz, arugula, avocado and lemon aioli half sandwich and the crab bisque(medium size). Both were amazing. The soup was so good I wound up scorching my tongue form trying to eat it when it was still too hot. Ahh… oh well. It was amazing. My total came to around $ 11.50 — a little price for soup and half of a sandwich, but both were good. I will be back, but because of the price, it’ll be more of a «treat» type lunch.

I Enjoy Hale & Hearty for a quick and healthy lunch in Midtown. They offer a variety of soup, sandwich, and salad options, so one would be hard-pressed to find something they don’t like! I try to get something different each time, but I am partial to trying the seasonal soups and the Turkey and Avocado with Pesto Sandwich. I always do the soup and half sandwich combo though, which is a great deal in my opinion. Prices are actually cheap for a typical NY lunch and the staff is great. They move the lines along quickly and efficiently, but they are also very friendly. I often feel man-handled by other assembly-line style lunch places, but Hale and Hearty always provides service with a smile. I will definitely continue to come in here!

I love Hale & Hearty — I work a block away from this particular location. Every time I go, I virtually have the same experience. The food is good. The stars aren’t for the food. It’s for a particular staff member and I’m disappointed that I never catch her name. The only reason I return is because it’s close during lunch time, the rest of the employees are nice, and I’ve always followed H&H. But this one particular lady is beyond rude. I’m not one to lose patience with someone who speaks English as a second language. I come from a family of immigrants. But her attitude has got to go. She gets frustrated when she can’t hear you or if you cannot hear her, rolls her eyes, throws your change at you(you’re lucky if she hands it to you nicely. I think she handed it to me gently maybe only 4⁄10 times I’ve been there.) and if she doesn’t look you up and down. It’s a shame and I really think if Hale and Hearty wasn’t a franchise, she would chase A LOT of customers away. But thank you to the rest of the employees for their service and kindness.

I go to this spot a lot during lunch. There is a huge selections of salads, sandwiches and soups. I usually am a creature of habit and get either the tomato basil soup or the lentil chili. They are both really delicious choices. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because it’s good for lunch but you get the corporate vibe. It’s like the soup and salad version of subway, doesn’t really taste homemade. Still good if you’re looking for something quick for lunch. If you’re visiting from out of town, I recommend trying a more ‘local’ place where you get the cozy vibe and not something you can find in a different city.

Came here for chicken soup as I was feeling a bit under the weather. I got the Chicken Vegetable soup. They give you the option to choose between couscous or noodles. The soups are pretty pricey but it is midtown. I got the medium size(12 oz.) which was $ 5.43 including tax and including a slice of bread or crackers. The price of the soups vary depending on the soup selected but this was one of the less expensive soups. The soup was very flavorful and there was plenty of chicken and vegetables in every bite. Just make sure to go before the lunch rush, not after, because if you get stuck with the soup from the bottom of the barrel, there is less substance in the soup.

We get Hale & Hearty from 56th St. delivered to our office for lunch under a corporate account. From the time of ordering it takes them over 2 hours to deliver. There are lunch orders that go in over an hour after that get here 30 minutes before Hale does. To say the least, the service is abysmal. I keep wanted to give them another shot, but it has gotten beyond that point. In addition, the soups are very light on the advertised ingredients. I recently ordered the chicken tortilla soup, which contained about a half of a chicken nugget’s worth of chicken, no tortilla, and the remainder was just celery and onions. In addition, the turkey sandwich I received had twice as much cheese as it did turkey. Due to the horrible service and poor meal quality, I will not be ordering here again.

I was in the area and I was in the mood for something healthy and soup sounded like a good idea. This location is a bit small but they have everything you need so don’t let that fool you. I was undecided on which soup I wanted but the lady behind the counter was nice enough to let me try a couple, I went with the chicken vegetable since I’m tying to eat healthy :( Then I went to the end and got a chopped salad which was very good and fresh. I love that they have free lemon water on the counter.

For some reason I really wanted soup. I was on my way to get Pret, then instead I stopped by here. The soups were really hearty and healthy(or at least it felt that way) I got the spicy chickpea and lemon. It was really good, though I do really hate how small the portions are. I got the Large and I was barely full. The place was crowded, but the servers were still really nice and tentative, though my second sample was tiny, I could barely taste the spinach and mushroom, which was probably why I settled on my first taster. I should be coming back more often during this harsh cold winter, when I want a bowl of hot soup. But it’ll probably not be a meal, or maybe it’ll be a meal when I’m on a diet.

I know it’s basically a chain and all, but Hale consistently has a great line-up of above average to really good soups. They are as good or better than any other quick lunch place. Favorites include tomato cheddar, white bean and crab corn soup.

Can keep this short and sweet for Hale & Hearty… one of the best soup places in the city that rarely ever has what you want. I love Hale & Hearty’s soups. The chicken vegetable and the another one that I can not recall right now is what I order from time to time here but for that you would have to come here in prime lunch hours because it seems like anything after 3:30, 4 pm they do no have which is very annoying. I can understand that H&H has a very loyal and heavy fanbase/customer regulars that come here but if you know that then at least carry a good supply of your most popular soups so that customers can be accommodated. Overall very good soups… if you come here between the hours of 11 am — 2:30 pm.

I love Hale and Hearty’s stuff, but the service was pretty bad. I went there for the first time and was kind of confused as to where the line started. I got an attitude from the girl working behind the counter when she saw I looked confused and she yelled at me to come down to the end. I ordered a salad and it was good. The restaurant was empty and seemed clean. I sat down and was able to relax. Immediately after the employee who was rude to me went on her break and was leaning over the counter, ordering food, and talking about some inappropriate weekend activities with another employee. When the employee was preparing her salad, they asked if she wanted a certain topping and the other employee responded with«oh no, I’d never eat that». It didn’t make me feel too good about the quality of the food. I didn’t have a bad experience though, so I didn’t use it to base my entire review off of. I’m not so sure I’d go back though. The service was terrible.

This is a great place to go to if you just want to refuel real quick and continue on with your day. I appreciate that you can sample their soups before committing to one. They offer a wide assortment of vegetarian options. Would definitely stop in to any of their locations for a quick meal.

I have braved snow, sleet, and rain to trek three blocks up to this H&H. On colder days the line can be long, but the staff keeps it moving(as long as you aren’t asking for samples of every single soup… you know who you are!) On a normally busy day at peak lunch time, I’m in and out quickly. My go-to order is the ½ sandwich soup combo– 9 times out of 10 I get half of the balsamic chicken with avocado sandwich and the creamy tomato soup with chicken and orzo. That soup is the best – it’s the reason why I walk three blocks in the snow, sleet, and rain. The menu also lists what is dairy-free and vegan, so everyone can get something they enjoy. I’ve always found the staff to be polite, and they even give me an extra Bean Card when I forget mine at my desk. Thanks for keeping me full, Hale & Hearty!

It’s covers all your Hale needs but I’m between 2 Hales and out of the 2 the«other» has a much more efficient staff that can greatly speed up your wait time. But this one is still OK

I’m really warming up to the Hale & Hearty Soups chain. Warming up…* As one Unilocaler mentioned when their soups are good, they’re great… when they’re bad they suck pretty terribly. Not a big fan of chicken pot pie(too sweet) and chicken noodle with veggies(too bland) BUT their creamy chicken and rice and their Italian wedding is rockin’. Whoever devised the recipe for the wedding soup is clearly Italian because it rivals my mother’s recipe that’s be handed down through many generations. I like their salad ingredients better than most salad chains and their sandwich options better than most sandwich joints. I’m a particular fan of their Black Forest ham and Swiss, chicken and guac wrap, and their seasonal Italian sandwich. Food is always fresh, too! In comparison to other Hale & Hearty locations, it’s small but there is some outdoor seating. Service is extremely hit or miss but they deal with an incredible amount of customers at the lunch hour, so I wouldn’t dare be pissed about their blank stares when they take my order. *Ya know… warm? Like when it’s cold out you need something to warm you up, and that something is soup…
