I’ve eaten here at least once a week for a couple years now. I’m a big fan of H&H soups, and this is one of the better locations. It can be a little uneven in quality — a sign they’re serving fresh food, not some factory-made concoction — but they don’t seem to mind dishing samples even when they’re busy, so you can find one you definitely like. I tend to prefer the spiced and bean-laden soups over the brothy ones. This location has good staff and enough space that you’re not crammed in like sardines, and the line is super fast, even when they’re busy. The soups are a little pricey, but c’est la vie. Salads are made to order but sandwiches are premade. Love that the soups are all marked to easily identify which ones are vegetarian, lowfat or dairy-free, and there are a ton of gluten-free options every day(check the online daily menu or ask to see the ingredients on the back of cards on each pot of soup — the gluten-free ones are marked, and you can check for any allergens).

The quickest, cleanest and most efficiently run hale and hearty that I’ve been to thus far. The soup is always fresh, they hardly run out. The salad is always fresh and the sandwiches are also fresh and delicious. There are plenty of employees, all of which are happy to help. Great attitude and very quick even when there is a crowd. This location is run like a tight ship and I love it. Everyone is so eager and ready to go!

I have gotten lunch here a couple odd times when i was in a soupy mood(and yes even though it is currently in the high 80’s, today I wanted soup because my office is overcompensating and my fingers and nose are cold!) The soup itself is ok i guess, but it is always just a bit salty/over seasoned AND over priced in my opinion. Usually I will seamless(when i have the patience to wait a bit longer) from some other places that give you a soup that could fill goliath’s left boot for $ 7-$ 10 at H&H you get smurf thimble, teacup or tiny hobo-can sizes for the same prices. Their sandwiches are pretty tasty I will give them that. Also I swear everyone that works there was raised by a librarian! The establishment isnt too loud but they mumble so I can still never hear them! I had to ask the girl today«I’m sorry what?» 4 times today before I figured out she was asking if I wanted rice on the bottom of the chili(which was a mistake that rice about broke my filling out). and One more gripe, I have used a ladle before, with some basic skill you can get the liquid in a cup/bowl with ease. so far all these soup slingers seem to have been trained by those little wind up monkeys with the cymbals cause it looks like that and goes all down the side of the container. Sometimes they clean that up sometimes I have to ask. Overall this place will feed you but you can do better

this place is what it is and doesn’t profess to be anything else — a midtown quickie lunch spot. so give some credit where it’s due. you pay $ 12 for a quality lunch(i’m talking half sandwich, small soup, and drink. really not sure how ppl survive on a small Tomato Basil for lunch unless you got your stomach stapled). the ingredients are fresh(er). if you don’t like that, go to Subway or Smilers Deli. all the soups are pretty good and most have a hint of sweetness to them. just enough. except for that horrendous chicken yucatan and lime vomit. must be a childhood Ratatouille-like fav of the CEO. also, they had a black bean soup that was a mass of black beans and salt. i think it was 4 pm by the time it reached landfall in my stomach. my personal favs are anything with the tomato base: crab & tomato, tomato eggplant, etc. but i i’ll admit i’ve been dreaming of their roasted butternut squash soup and have been checking every day for that creamy, sweet, roasted buttery goodness. pair that up with a tuna Toastie from Pret and you’ll be sad lunch only happens once a day. cons: stingy on the meat. but this place is not really catering towards muscle builders. the bread is crappy. i hate the crust part and it takes up 70% of the slice. only oyster crackers for me please. . pros: you feel like a pro afterwards and it won’t make you sleep on your keyboard. thank god they label VLD since i’m lactose intolerant.

Clearly many of you have not actually tried the soup. I check the online menu every day, and if I see any variation of «Baked Potato» or «Broccoli Cheddar» or «Mashed Potato» Soup, I drop everything at work and go to H & H. These are their best soups. I highly recommend them. Thick, hearty, delicious. Just the way I make my soup. Yum yum.

Never had the soup. Only had the salad. My co-worker swears by them. He got me swearing now too. For the price, the taste is pretty decent and it’s a healthier alternative to the street meat that I get sometimes. I’ve got it down to a science: small mixed greens($ 3.29) with tofu and kidney beans($ 0.60 each) and goat cheese($ 1.20) with fat-free balsamic vinaigrette and Thai peanut sauce mixed in. The croutons, red onion, cucumbers, and carrots are free so I get that in abundance. I tell them to crush it extra fine. Total is an amazing $ 6.79 which is a deal to be had considering the usual $ 8-$ 10 for salads elsewhere. Bada bing bada boom. I also utilize the their frequent salad diner’s card. 10en salads gets you a free one thereby reducing your overall salad cost by about $ 0.70 per. WARNING: Do not ask for any of the meats. They only give a small scoopful and it seems way better to get a scoopful of protein through others means hence my vegetarian options above. You’re gonna eat meat at least for dinner anyway. NOTE: The soup and salad combo is a good deal too. You essentially get a small bowl of their awesome soup for $ 1.80 more or so. It’s worth it says I.

I like the labeling system: V, L, D(vegetarian, low-fat, dairy free) The soup is decent(and they’re good about samples) but the bread isn’t very good

Most of the soups are watery and lack flavor. Normally I don’t go here also because I don’t carry much cash and they ONLYACCEPTCASH. Today I did have the coconut shrimp over rice and it was pretty good. The sandwhiches and salads are also standard fare.

Pretty standard soup, could’ve used more salt, but whatever some fatasses need less salt in their diet. It should be cheaper, but the place was clean and warm so I made the best of it. My server didn’t speak english well enough to take my order, so I had to point.
