This is for delivery only. I’m sure the food would be good… if it ever showed up. I am literally 2 blocks away and ordered 1 ½ hours ago… and counting. Of course, my card has already been charged…

Short walk from times square and central park, you can watch people stand in line for the original soupman in winter, a little entertaining — staying warm, lots of seating, fresh salads, soups about as good. Pretty inexpensive, a chain but so is soupman. No downside. Enjoy!

I been to a couple of H&H before but this store is completely unorganized. I came in to order soup and the two soup takers kept trying to pass off my order to each other. And then when it came to pay(the registers are located in the back), there was no one there. I had to wait more than 10 minutes for someone to come. There were people standing at the salad and sandwich bar along with people at the back who just watched as a line formed for people waiting to pay while doing absolutely nothing…

Decent food but way too overpriced. The small soup alone is $ 5. I got the chicken quinoa soup. Super yum just not worth the $ 5.

I ordered salad online from this location a few times and got my order messed up twice. How hard is it to make salad? The first time I let it go because mistakes happen but honestly, two times for SALAD is hard to understand… I ordered croutons in my salad, at least half of the portion is croûton… It looked like someone chewed up my salad and spit it back into the bowl. I tried hard to finish it because I was hungry and didn’t want to waste food and money.

H&H should really consider opening a larger store instead in this area. It’s very crowded and cramped at peak lunch hour, and I think the experience of both customers and staff alike would be vastly improved by more space. The soup’s good(I only ever get the lentil chili though); there was one time I was given the wrong kind of soup, and had to walk back, which is really a drag to do when you’re at work. but at least they swapped it for me, no fuss.

I was told that the soup here is not pre-made, but made by a chef in their own kitchen. I really find that hard to believe. I have eaten here a total of 3 times, and all 3 times tried different soup flavors. They are all so salty that I literally couldn’t even finish mine today. With that amount of salt, they are either pre-made from a company and shipped to the Hale & Hearty stores in cans, or are made with so much salt to increase the shelf life. Either way, the soups are disgusting and I will not return.

While über-crowded during lunchtime, the selection and prices are worth the wait. Soup and sandwich selections are jaw-dropping. I’ve had the 3-lentil chili and New England Clam Chowder w/pancetta. Service is fast and courteous. I like the whole wheat 7-grain bread instead of crackers for my soup. The sandwiches! YUM! Roast beef aioli, chicken pesto… my only negative comment is that the sandwich looked bigger in display case… a bit smaller once you sit down to eat. Odd. Whatever: for $ 5.19 I get a filling, tasty lunch in under 20mins.

It’s my 6th custom salad and only one salad had to be sent back. Not bad, The salad is always fresh and the custom menu allows me to add whatever my heart desires. The chopped and dressing mixed in is the way to go.

Just like SF Soup Company. My mom liked her crab and corn chowder. Generic vibe to the place, but plentiful seating. Pre-made sandwiches.

I love this place! I’ve never been here physically but I order from here online probably twice a week! Delivery is always reasonably timed and the delivery guy is always super nice and patient. I wish there was another way to deliver sandwiches so that they stay fresh /not soggy but the H&H tuna is always delicious regardless! Some of my favorites: chicken veggie soup(light at 80 calories per serving!), tuna salad sandwich(super generous portion), turkey and avocado with walnut pesto(walnut pesto is a mind blowing combination imo). Even the pre packed chicken avocado salad is great, especially if you love cranberries and walnuts! Basically, you can’t go wrong :)

Of course they’re known for their soups which you cannot go wrong with. However, their sandwiches are lacking in meat. The Cajun chicken sandwich that we got, looks like 1 piece of chicken in the sandwich. Their salads are always good though, can’t go wrong since you’re basically making it yourself.

It’s okay. Very close to my office so I’ll come by again the next time I want some soup. Noodles they add in soup is not bad.

Hale and Hearty has a decent spread of variety and you can’t really go wrong with the various combos: soup/sandwich, soup/salad, salad/sandwich, etc and the different sized soups! Pros — convenience — everything tastes fresh Cons — long line, but it moves quickly although bit unorganized — a teeny bit pricey but maybe it’s just the«standard of living» in NYC versus Atlanta. Rest assured, I wouldn’t be spending more than $ 10 for a lunch like this. $ 8 seems more reasonable. What I ate –Coconut Curry Chicken Soup: less coconutty than I thought it would be as I was thinking more along the lines of a creamy thai soup, but still good. Heavier on the curry. Additional bread included to dip was awesome. I had the 9 grain. –Guacamole Chicken wrap: I really wanted a wrap, but wasn’t too fond of the guac as it was watery. Overall, it’s convenient to bring back to your office despite the clusterf*ck during peak hours.

I work around the area and this is my go to place when I’m in the mood for some soup. The staff there are very nice and friendly. It’s really busy around 12pm-1pm so I try to grab something around 2pm when I know it will be less crowded. I like the Tomato Chicken and Orzo which is the usual everyday soup they have on the menu along with some other ones. The cool thing about Hale and Hearty is that they have different soups everyday. I like it when they have the Chicken Chowder its so good and I like their Mac and Cheese as well. If I’m in the mood for a sandwich, I normally get the Balsamic Chicken and Avocado Sandwich. I like that you can get half of a sandwich to accompany your soup as well. They also offer salads as well but I usually stick to the Soups and Sandwiches. They don’t have much seating, that’s why I take it go and eat it at the office.

I was trying to have a small soup and ½ sandwich at 4:40 pm today but the person who works here told me that«I will have to take whatever I buy to go– because they are closing at 5:00 pm» Hmm if I was there 5 min to closing time this would had made sense, however I really doubt that anyone would take more than 20 min to eat the small soup. Given that Hale and Harty is the fast food type of setting I’m finding this policy a little bit absurd. Who would like to have a soup to go, on Sunday in this area anyway?

Amazing soups! The chicken vegetable soup was fantastic. Lots of chicken! Can be ordered with couscous or noodles and all the soups come with a side of bread or oyster crackers. The tomato based Chef Special Ribollita has a subtle spicy kick but bold flavor. This place is small and has very little seating. It’s a great place to grab food to eat at the public area on 34th St between 7th and 8th avenue. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The soups are labeled for people with special diets(gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian).

This business is always a winner. I tried the Thanksgiving Turkey soup. It hit the spot and felt like home on this cold morning. When I worked daily in Manhattan’s Garment District, this place rocked for a quick bite to eat. I think there are several within a couple blocks. During lunch time the lines can be a deterrent from going here.

It’s a chain, and it’s near my office. I’m not Mafalda, so I like soup, and they have many tasty options. They offer tastings of the various, seasonal soups, which is a treat. The servers are very friendly. The line moves quickly in spite of the individual attention. They do a soup and half sandwich combo. And they have a punch card for frequent guests.

Surprisingly, it was my first time here and I actually enjoyed my chicken tomato bisque with orzo a lot. I enjoyed it so much, that I’m reviewing it just because of that alone. It is a little over 7 bucks which is a lot for a soup, but quality wise, it was there. There are multiple cashiers so you can grab and go quickly during your lunch break. Definitely will try the other soup flavors in the future! Only bad thing is that I wish they served coffee here or that my soup would come with a baguette… and yes, my office is cold so I want hot soup in 80 degrees weather!
