Ew I will never go back. There was a time when this place was Sushi Lounge that we would go all the time, then we had a so so experience last year and stopped going altogether. We were on St. Marks today and figured we would give them another shot. It’s great food if you have low standards. It’s cheap cause its crap. We ordered 4 rolls and a seaweed salad. The salad was soggy and gross, the sushi was mediocre at best and even at 50% off it was overpriced. One of the rolls had asparagus in it, it looked like the asparagus was 100 years old. The floor was dirty and had smeared tuna that looks like it’s been sitting there for a week. UGHHH — and at the end they announce they are cash only — why not let people know in advance — oh I know why so that they can use their overpriced ATM machine. This place sucks. Stay away.

Came here for the beef intestine hot pot. It was very delicious and filling. The intestine didn’t have much of a smell cause they prepped it properly to get rid of the smell. Each bite was flavorful and there’s a choice to add ramen in the hot pot which changes the dish completely. It was very enjoyable. The uni didn’t taste as fresh as it should. I wouldn’t order that again.

I love this place! Aside from the fact that they market their sushi as 50% off(all the time), which is kind of gimmicky, the food here cannot be beat for the price. I like ordering their omikase, which is a nice fixing of a the chef’s special sushi. They give you a good selection, and if there’s anything you don’t eat, you can let them know in advance and they will substitute it for you. I also like ordering their ramen. You get a large bowl, bigger than most other places, and the price is decent. All-in-all, this is my favorite hole-in-wall places to get sushi around St. Marks, and is usually my go-to place if I’m craving sushi and not looking to break the bank. Never had their hotpot before, so I cannot comment other than the fact that it seems a tad overpriced. For hotpot, I’d recommend another all-you-can eat spot in Brooklyn — see my review on Kuho Sushi.

I used to go here way back before they change the names so many times. This time around it was another name, but much cleaner and shaped up when I used to go to it during my college years. Yeah i’m old lol. They still do the 50% mark off style. A little gimmick to draw people in. I’m very curious about the hakata hotpot. Today we did the shushi and it was very good Better then I last remembered. Clean, and well prepared. I did hear something did take much longer because it was frozen, but everything was really good. I can’t complain since I knew where this place came from back in the days, I have avoided it usually because it was crowded or not as clean or well taken care of back then. This time around I might see myself back there again.

The food is good but the service is not good at all. The three women who work there are overwhelmed when it is busy and you have to wait. The manager, a guy in his 50’s just watches the girls . The worst thing here is that it is a cash only place and there are no obvious signs to that so you are forced to use their Atm machine which charges $ 2.99 for the transaction and then your bank charges you as well. Skip this place. There are 20 more similar places on the block that take credit cards.

Looked at the window and walked in for brunch. Staff is so friendly. Explain things very well. I ordered the Red Evil soup. Deliciously fabulous. Yummy top three last sip. I saw the leaves/flowers fall outside and it felt like snow on a sunny day.

Very happy with my visit here in this little spot in St Marks. The Ramen burger was so juicy every bite of the way. The Tonkatsu appetizer was slamming and we also ordered the Fried Kimchi Rice which had a very good spicy flavor, nothing was overwhelming. Service was very friendly and fast. I definitely would come back to this spot the next time I’m in the mood for Ramen and I would try one of those Hot Pots!(Order one of the hot pots and get 50% off Kurin beer. Also this place has sushi roll and sushimi 50% specials all day. Thanks for the food. We’ll see eachother again

This is my favorite hotpot place in NYC. My friends and I always have Hakata Motsu Nabe hotpot or Hakata Collagen hotpot. The pork broth of hotpot is so genuine and deep so Sake goes very well with hotpots. You can add noodle after finishing the main hotpot, which is very cheap, and another new ramen set comes as almost new set with the deep pork broth again. This restaurant is underrated in my opinion.

Horrible horrible experience!!! It was a Monday, my friends and I was planning to eat at Spot Desserts Bar that is next to this restaurant but there is a long wait so we decide to walk around and go back later. We then saw the sign outside of this restaurant that shows ramen burger, so we decide to go in and try it. We want to eat desserts at Spot Dessert Bar later so we didn’t order too much food. We ordered the ramen burger and some appetizers, but the server said each of us must order at least $ 15, then we add some more sashimi and sushi. The sashimi and sushi in this restaurant were not fresh at all. Also the ramen burger was not what we expected. It was soft not crunchy at all. The service were horrible. It was not busy at all, there were only three table including us. It takes a long time for the food to come and the server didn’t even come to our table and check on us or fill waters for us, and the restaurant gave us the bill including 20% tips charge. The server didn’t even serve us but she just expect us to give 20% tips. This is a really really horrible experience. This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to!!! I will not go again!!!

Horrible experience at this place. I went there with my fd two ppl at a weekday afternoon, we r not hungry so we didn’t order a lot, and share the food. After we ordered, the waitress came to tell us:” we had minimum $ 15 each person .” Me and my fd counted the value of what we ordered, it’s over the minimum for two a lot already! We told ourselves it’s ok maybe just because we look young. Later on, we chatted and had our meal happily as my fd stop eating and I’m still eating my noodle! The lady came with the check without we calling for check ! That’s so rude !!! And there’s not a lot ppl eating there why kicking us out? The food is too soso, first time eating ramen without any strong taste or strong soup base in it, the spicy tuna roll isn’t spice… Food taste so bad ! I wouldn’t come back and would not recommend to anyone of this place!

Got here around 9:30 on a Friday and thank goodness that we got a table not so long after. We of course got the famous hot pot with pig feet. It’s $ 17/person and you have to get at least two. I think it’s way too salty, the soup can’t really be drank unless you are eating a bunch of rice lol… You also have the option to add noodle or rice in the hot pot for additional charges when you are almost finished with the hot pot. My roommate told me that the hot pot tasted almost the same as Hakata Tonton but they have much better appetizers.

First of all, this is definitely not run by Japanese people. Probably Korean. My Japanese mother and I were in the mood for a hot pot or shabu shabu but all the other places we wanted to go to had 2+ hour waits. We decided to come here when they allowed us to take a reservation 1 hour in advance. Service was awful. Took forever to get someone to take our order, drop off our drinks(mind you my wine wasn’t even chilled), get our next order, grab the check, Etc. We got the Hakata Collagen Hot Pot, which had a spicy broth with dry chicken breast, tough pork belly, pork feet, tofu and veggies. There were a bunch of unnecessary sweet goji berries which completely threw me off. Blech.

The best time to come here is on a friday night @ 6pm for happy hour deal! 50% off beer and sushi. My friends and I were satisfied with customer service and food. I gave it only 4 stars because not everything was 50% off and they have only one bathroom. It was freezing cold and looked like someone kinda lived there. Saw a toothbrush, listerine bottle and other toiletries. Other than that it was fairly clean.

I am big fan of pig feet and before I find this place, I could only go to hakata tonton, where you have to book almost one month ahead and dinner time slots on weekend can be as bad as like 9pm, 10pm… But hakata hotpot saves my time a lot! I booked on opentable one day before and reserved a table for two at 7pm. I was even able to change the time to 6 only several hours before head. So convenient! Hope not many people find this place, or the booking would be a same nightmare as hakata tonton…

If you think Hakata Ton Ton is tiny, then Hakata Hot Pot is super tiny. I think any more than 12 – 14 people will max Hakata Hot Pot out. The restaurants are not related, but they do focus on the same essential ingredient: Japanese hot pots based on long-simmering pig feet/pig toe broth. That may sound off-putting, but collagen is the secret ingredient for having soft silky skin. Pig feet and pig toe are cooked and eaten by many cultures, but I seem to like the Japanese Hakata style the best. For appetizers, we selected Seafood Okonomiyaki which was good but a bit overcooked. The Takoyaki, which are minced octopus meat balls, tasted bland to me. We had better luck with the Collagen hot pot. It came piled high with vegetables that soon cooked down into the broth. The pork belly was delicious, and the broth excellent. This is definitely a place to return to, especially in the winter when your stomach is craving for hot soup. Just be prepared for a super tiny restaurant with not much ambience.

Since I love everything Hakata, I gathered my pork feet loving friends to try this place. We found out that they did not have any affiliation to our favorite Japanese restaurant Hakata Tonton in the West Village, which we usually go to for special occasions. The Hakata hot pot restaurant itself is tiny but the adjacent Sushi Lounge serves exactly the same menu. Therefore, booking your reservation online is highly recommended. We started our dinner with Seafood Okonomiyaki, a Japanese grilled pancake; and Takoyaki, a Japanese ball shaped snack filled with diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger and green onions served with takoyaki sauce. Both appetizers were implicitly delicious. We settled on to their signature Hakata collagen hot pot prepared with collagen broth, tofu, vegetables, pork belly and tonsoku(pig feet) with additional ramen noodles that has been added to our broth midway dinner. It was a completely satisfying hot pot experience. Although they lack our usual small plate favorites and pork belly skewer, this place served a decent menu and had great customer service to match.

Came here to cure my winter blues and celebrate the lunar new year with some hot pot! I was looking for a place that took online reservations. If you go here, reservations are highly recommended, because the place is tiny. I shared the signature collagen broth w/pork belly hot pot and the chicken & veggie pancake with my boyfriend. The broth was delicious — exactly what I had been craving the whole week. It was the perfect amount of seasoning. We also ordered a side of ramen, which they cooked with the leftover broth at the end. One of the best meals I’ve had this year so far! We left stuffed and satisfied(and I got to take some leftovers with me, which I’m already excited to eat for lunch tomorrow). Some prior reviews complained about the slow service, but I thought our server was really nice and attentive. She came by several times to check on our hot pot, and I never felt like I had to wait long for anything.

Such a small place with only seven tables and cash only, yet everything was worth it. I wish I could rate it five plus star for food and service. As the name indicated, hotpot was their specialty. So we went with their signature course pork belly hotpot. The type of pepper they were using was kinda of spicy, so take a second consideration before pouring their extra hot sauce. Dry garlic was my favorite part, it mixed so well by itself with cabbage. Pancake with egg and pork was also a must if you are a fan of takoyaki. What I wanna emphasize was their service. Before the meal, they served plum wine and appetizer. After three dinner, they had hot tea and green tea dessert offered. I truly enjoyed the place from every single aspect. Paying so much attention to detail was the best part of it. Cash only was their only drawback, yet they have ATM right outside the restaurant and a Chase within one block, so it was not a problem at all.
