This review is only for the free hotel breakfast and to be honest, if it wasn’t free I wouldn’t waste my time eating here. When you get here, there’s only 1 super crude worker(possibly manager or owner because that’s the only way I can justify why he thinks he can be so rude) bouncing back and forth between the kitchen and 8 – 10 tables. Toss any customer service expectation out the door because he knows no such thing. His form of customer service on the other hand??? Assume or influence what his guest wants to order because… Idk your patrons would appreciate the humor. «Okay, 5 French toast, 3 coffees??? No okay, 3 French toast…» I mean seriously? And I challenge you to ask for some customer service. Ask him for anything, it will only require 10minutes of patience and half the time, your probably better off serving yourself. The worst part? I ordered two eggs w bacon and the bacon arrived with about 80% fat and 20%. So obviously I sent it back and asked him for leaner bacon. 10 minutes later, my bacon never arrived. I ate all my eggs, I was running late for work, and I just gave up. Wow, it can’t get worst than this so I stopped even giving him tip because if I could, I would charge him for me to eat with his atrocious customer service.

I come here for breakfast on my way to work almost every day. The workers here are very nice, especially the girls at the registers. Usually in & out with my coffee and bagel w/PB in less than 5 minutes.

Poor business catering experience — I ordered a mix of sandwiches and salads, with specifics chosen, for a meeting. Delivery time was supposed to be between 11:20 — 11:50am — arrived 12:15pm after I confirmed at 11:15am that delivery was on it’s way. Sandwiches received were not the same as I ordered. I was not impressed with the quality of the food compared to other catering services I’ve used in the city.

Rip off! Horribly overpriced! I’ve seen more than one person complain about the prices or drop their purchase and walk out when they hear the cost. Not sure what this place thinks it is at these prices. Maybe the owners should take a walk around the block and see what other similar places are charging for soup and salad.

This location consistently has great coffee, which keeps me coming back. Their selection of pastries and bagels are also great. Unfortunately, lately they have not been up to their usual high standards. I bought a yogurt which was 8 days expired — 8 days during which no one checked expiration dates, and a fresh fruit salad with moldy fruit in it. Management has always been willing to make things right with me — but I’d prefer that they address these issues before serving rotten food to customers.

Very disappointed in catering service. Overpriced and bad service all around, from the quality of the food to the poor customer service. Breakfast«Executive platter» of pastries and fruit was completely overpriced– we were charged $ 70 for a small platter that looked like it had $ 10 worth of food on it– and the pastries/bagels did not even taste fresh. The coffee dispenser we were given was broken and after calling to alert them, they took over 30 mins to get back with a new pot. By that time, we had already decided to pour out the coffee in another container and drink it cold. Also, cookie platter that had been previously ordered to arrive with lunch, arrived at breakfast time. Lunch was equally as disappointing, with sandwiches arriving dry, without any condiments/dressings. When I called the manager to complain, he never apologized for the mistakes made and refused to compensate any of our bill, only offering to give us credit for the«next time» we order. Well, guess what? There won’t be a next time!

Great place to grab a bite to eat and go. I got an a florentine omelette with potatoes and toast in the morning and it filled me up… it was a little on the expensive side but then again it is on Madison Ave.

So today was my first experience at Guy & Gallard. Normally I walk to Pret if I’m buying lunch, but I wore a lighter coat than I should have for this weather and Guy & Gallard is directly next door to the building I work in. That being said I gave it a go. Boy I kind of wish I just waked to Pret. I felt rushed as soon as I entered, I was trying to decide if I wanted a salad or a sandwich, standing far enough back where I was not in everyones way so they could order, and the staff kept asking me what I wanted, just let me think please. Once I finally decide, I got a wrap, they prepare my food quickly and I go to check out. The girl at the register completely ignores me. I mean when I was in college I worked at a store and yes sometimes it was very difficult to be pleasant, but honestly get over yourself it’s your job for the time being. After she rings me out she walks away, I was planning to eat there so I kind of needed the wifi password, she ripped it off my receipt so I didn’t get it. So I had to go find her and ask her for the wifi password, annoying. At least the food was alright, that’s why I’m giving them two stars.

The cashiers provide the absolute worst service ever. It actually makes me uncomfortable. They consistently either glare at you or scowl and don’t make eye contact. This is the most convenient salad place to my office but… no thank you. Clearly there is a culture problem that the management needs to fix. If you can handle the payment experience, the guys that make the salad are nicer and the salads are fine. However, it’s annoying that if you want dressing on the side you have to go to the back of the café and get it yourself.

I can’t muster any excitement for this place. Decent sandwiches. They sell water. Um. that is all I got on this one.

Been coming here for approximately a year since I started a job nearby. I was once able to tolerate this place, but yesterday was the last straw. First off, the service here is deplorable. Nobody working there is happy with their job and it shows. I’ve had several occasions where a cashier wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I was paying — just stuck their hand out for my cash, gave me my change, and didn’t even look up for say thank you. I can deal with(sometimes I even enjoy) old school, no-nonsense service, but dealing with these people just puts a downer on my entire morning. Can’t say I’m surprised though, as the manager has no problem arguing with customers if they question anything. I can only imagine how he treats his employees… As for the people making the food, they started out fine. I don’t know what happened, but in the past couple months, they’ve gotten my order wrong at least 50 percent of the time. Using yesterday as one example, I asked for a whole wheat bagel with light veggie cream cheese; they pulled out a cinnamon raisin bagel first, followed by a whole grain bagel before finally getting the right item. When I got the bagel, there was a very thin layer of cream cheese. I mean I shouldn’t be surprised I guess — the people making the food seem more dedicated to chatting with each other than paying attention to people’s orders. It would be worth it if the food was anything special, but I can get the exact same items up the road at Oxford and Gigi Cafes AND have a better customer experience. Not giving this place any more chances. I’ll show up late to work if it means I have to walk an extra two blocks to get breakfast. Steer clear of this Guy and Gallard.

This place is a hit or miss. A lot of things they do right — great tuna salad, great salad & sandwich bar, great veggie juices. A lot of things they do mediocre — decent selection of ingredients, decent quality of ingredients and decently quick service. A lot of things they do awful — many employees are rude and many just don’t give a flying fart as to whether the customer is pleased, many times my food order was utterly incorrect and please for the love of god, never ever ever try their«honey mustard» — its dark and spicy for some reason and will ruin your sandwich. Not necessary to come here when there are SO many places in this area…

Review only for Catering: these guys did an excellent job, delivery was on time, food was as described and pretty tasty. They even included eating and serving utensils, plates, cups and a table clothe. I’ve used a number of caterers here in the City for lunches, by far the easiest to use from order to eating. Thank you!

Why are the cashiers sooooooooo misreble? I go every single day because I like their salad bar. They barely acknowledge my presense and just put their hand out for my credit card. Asking for bread or a straw is like pulling teeth. They always put a damper on my day. I do like the salad bar but I may have to take my business elsewhere.

I’ll start off by saying my reviews for NYC are much more critical than 90% of America due to the high quality of chiefs and service. Guy and Gillard’s sits on the corner of 34th and Madison and despite its typical small space(for the city) it makes use of every inch of the property in modern style. The clean lines, open windows complemented the wood, tile and glass giving you the feeling of the city. I especially enjoyed the floor tile adorned with mental plating reminiscent of city streets, great touch. Service: The moment I walked in I was greeted with top-notch service. Food: The coffee was just how it should be, quick(to the table), hot and just the right strength. Having caught an early flight to LaGuardia and not having had any breakfast I decided on having the salmon benedict for lunch. The meal came out quickly. The eggs were cooked perfectly and covered in just the right amount of hollandaise sauce, which tasted homemade. Other than the dish needing a few capers I can’t complain about the meal. Rating: Food 3.5 of 5(but it would easily be a 4.5 to 5 outside of Manhattan), service 5 of 5 with top marks for the appearance and cleanliness of the place. Overall I give Guy’s and Gallard 4 stars and my future business.

I’m not your friend guy! I’m not your buddy friend!(Sorry, South Park reference) I love multi grain toast and egg salad. Its cheap, its my childhood and its my first sandwich choice. In Chelsea market, Ronnybrook farms makes a KILLER egg salad sandwich. $ 9 bucks along with a chocolate milk? I’m back in Brooklyn and my mom is making me this sandwich for lunch. $ 9 bucks is a lotta money, how about the same sandwich for say. $ 4.50? Yup, here at my buddy guys place. They also have a coffee card, 10 coffees and you get one free. My only issue with this store?(And I yelled at them because I friggin snapped) When you want to order a sandwich, where do you go? I’m standing around, no one called on me. Someone walked in, and they get helped right away? Take my friggin egg salad sandwich order!
